    Love the pipe tip for the taps

  • @cynt1111
    @cynt1111 11 місяців тому +6

    If you stand them up vertical spin them 90* and they drop between the pipes, done loads, a bit awkward but no pipe cutting

      Have to give that a try. never even knew you could as pipework seems very tight to fit between

    As a heating engineer who would rather replace a tap then fix it. I like the look of that cartridge set, when you take the old cartridge out how do you know which one to replace it with? Do you find they always have the correct markings on them to match the ones in the box, or is it a case of eye balling it?

    • @bluebulldog_uk
      @bluebulldog_uk  11 місяців тому

      Got the set with a spline gauge with a ruler on side, so you know which cartridge to fit, worth the investment for tap repairs 👍

    Great work mate 👍🏼 how did you know what cartridge you needed for the job and what cartridge set is this one you have bought? Apologies if this is a stupid question just at the beginning of my training in plumbing haha

      @bluebulldog_uk  11 місяців тому +1

      No problem mate no stupid questions here pal 🙌👍. I got it from a company called bathroom spare parts, it came with the spline gauge with a ruler on it so you take old cartridge out and use gauge and ruler to measure up. Really good bit of kit 👍

    Why don’t the design the boiler with the plate heat exchanger at the front for easy access

    • @bluebulldog_uk
      @bluebulldog_uk  11 місяців тому

      Would make life easier, worse one I’ve tried is a navien, impossible to get out unless you dismantle the boiler

  • @ed393

    Should have the sink plug in, how many times has the screw disappeared down there and turned a 5min job into a nightmare.

    Just take the pump out?

  • @geeguneri5041
    @geeguneri5041 11 місяців тому +1

    I rather take out the pump. I find is easier. Don't need to fiddle about compression fitting or soldering back

    • @bluebulldog_uk
      @bluebulldog_uk  11 місяців тому

      Reason I like doing it this was is less disturbed seals, Worcester o rings am normally sound thou so taking pump out ain’t so bad 👍

  • @gerrosrightboot
    @gerrosrightboot 11 місяців тому +2

    Personally I prefer just taking the pump out....maybe if some of the pipework runs up the back.

    • @bluebulldog_uk
      @bluebulldog_uk  11 місяців тому

      If pipework runs at back then yeah il take pump out, I prefer this method as less disturbed the better but Worcester o rings normally ok to reuse if you take pump out 👍

    • @gerrosrightboot
      @gerrosrightboot 11 місяців тому

      As long as you don't lose the o ring from the pump and spot the facts dropped off it fine.

    Rule #1 when working on taps. Put the plug in the hole 😂

  • @56ty78ui
    @56ty78ui 11 місяців тому +1

    That P2P trick isn't new. Cut the gas pipe too if you want. Doesn't work if piped up behind the boiler.

    • @bluebulldog_uk
      @bluebulldog_uk  11 місяців тому +1

      No it’s not new just some people might not of been shown it, if it’s rear piped then I will normally take pump out

    Using grips on the basin tap like that is disgraceful! Should have correct size spanner’s. What is it with “plumbers” using incorrect tooling and graunching things?

    • @bluebulldog_uk
      @bluebulldog_uk  10 місяців тому +1

      Graunching the cartridge that was coming out anyway…I mean what’s the harm if it’s been scrapped anyway? Spanner was used to put new one in so no damage on that I can’t see the issue if I’m being honest
