Your channel has been extremely therapeutic for me over the last couple of months. I’ve felt incredibly lost for a while now and didn’t know how to change it.
But seeing how you live your life, the beauty, the challenge and the peace of the way you live has been truly eye opening for me.
It’s honestly been a massive help for me in this difficult time. I found myself discovering more about who I am while watching your videos. The way you open up about your anxieties, the struggles of everyday life and the importance of taking time for yourself has taught me more about life then any other channel on this platform.
Thank you for the art you create it’s truly inspiring and I’m incredibly grateful.
    Much love ❤

Yes, I enjoy being with people too, but have done the same -visit the restroom- just to be alone and take a deep breath. I think that’s typical behavior for introverts. Peace and quiet actually energizes us.

Watching this a year later...but oh so helpful for me! You seem to be a hypersensitive/an empath. I recognize myself a lot in what you are saying about sleep, the need to rest, the need to isolate yourself when too many people are around. Thank you!

Hi Kalle. It's Connie, German Girl, so nice to see you. You touched on so many things. I have suffered from insomnia for the least 7 years, i tried different things, but i still suffer from it here and there. But I'm retired, so this way i don't have to get up early. Some books that helped me a lot are "BATTLE FIELD OF THE MIND", SEARCH FOR SIGNIFICANCE, and i love reading the bible. Another good read for me was Brother Lawrence, andan old book i bought at a garage sale called "THE ART OF LIVING". Sending hugs your way from Washington State.

When I invite my family for dinner or something I say hi to everyone and then first go to the kitchen to get the coffee or something for everybody and just stand there and breathe because it's so much going on there. 😂 And I never let someone "help" me there because I need this little break inside my head.

A truly inspirational video. And I must say, though I can relate to these books as well, I found one thing particularly interesting. It really is in most mens nature just fix everything, find a solution right away. It's not absolute, but most of the time.
And here I realised that I myself, although being a man, I need to be heard at times as well because I am actually tired of "fixing" everything. And that makes total sense for me, because I've always been trying to just make everything perfect, be perfect ... that typical fear of making mistakes that we live in today. Which is needless.
And through that, I have learned how to communicate better with my girlfriend as well. When she needs to just talk, I can use it as an opportunity for myself to rest, listen and connect together. I think that's really important to just stop sometimes like this

  • @carenlissner454
    @carenlissner454 Рік тому +1

I'm new to your videos and am enjoying the honesty and conversational tone, and of course the wonderful scenery. I got the same thing about the Mars/Venus books, that men want to give a quick solution while women often want to hash things out. It can sound, though, that women don't want solutions, and that's not the case - sometimes they want to work through and understand the possibilities to make the best choice or come to the best resolution, rather than make a quick decision without thinking about it. A lot of snappy solutions ("Well, just do such and such" oversimplify a problem.) So yes, listening and talking through it does help in those situations, and the book is useful in helping people understand each other. All 3 books sound worthwhile. Looking forward to more videos.

A goal I set myself this year was simply to ‘read more’. I didn’t need to phrase it as a so-called ‘SMART’ goal because I knew what it meant. I set it because I get so much pleasure from reading and had fallen out of the habit, mostly because I was exhausted after work. I’ve read more books in the first 2 months of 2023 than in all of 2022 and its not at all about quantity (i.e. the number of books), it just happened that I built in reading during some 20-minute commutes and so needed a fairly lightweight volume and so started with the paperbacks on my shelves which I had stored up, having picked each up at a thrift store when I was searching for those on the list I carry with me. I feel genuinely enriched. A book I had previously read which changed me was ‘Everyday Matters’ by Danny Gregory. I now have around 46 sketchbooks filled with art and illustrations that serve as an aid memoir and which taught me that when I sketch something I feel connected and whole. I’ve never had any art training and its not instructional but something in it resonated deeply with me and as a result keeping a sketchbook has enriched my life.

Thank you for your insights. I go to a group twice a week in learning how to communicate better - to set up boundaries and be non violent in my communications. You actually touched on that a bit in describing how men and women communicate differently. I would suggest that we ALL can learn to communicate better if we really look at what we are asking for. Nice job, Kalle!

I'm still a night owl, and going to bed around 23:00 on weekdays, but also a early birder as I wake up at 04:30 to start my day. So for me the most important thing is the quality of my sleep. If I get my 5 hours of sleep, undisturbed, I will work optimal the next day^^,
LAN parties was so much fun! But I agree with the feeling after you're done with it. Didn't have those downsides when you where younger, then you could just go on and on and on :P

Bought Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams by Matthew Walker last May and YES the book is so informative. Matthew Walker is a professor over at University of California, in Berkeley and really thought provoking.

I have been there and read the book Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. All honour and respect for those men who shared their life experiences by penning down them on a book. Nevertheless, I had a broken relationship and never understood the patterns in me was the reason for the way especially why the relationships did not work the way I thought they should, no matter whether it is with parents, siblings, colleagues at work or with the other half. I am so blessed and happy to share that I found the reason, and it totally lies in a spiritual realm. I read a lot about Buddhism, some new age practices but they did not bring me a meaningful answer to say "that was it" except the Bible. I hope no one misunderstands me based on the thinking that I am trying to promote religion here - absolutely not.

I am dog-earring pages and underlining sentences like my life depends on it (it actually does!). I am at the point where I am done with my old life and I realize to live a different life I need to become a different person… This book is exactly what I needed to help me achieve this goal!!!! Thank you so much for the video it came at a perfect time in my life.❤.

Hi Kalle! Still catching up on your videos... almost there! 😂 Also, I don't really read a lot... I've tried, but my attention span just isn't there with most books I've tried to read... I mean, I have a small library of them and have hardly read any of them cover to cover. But there is one that I absolutely loved reading and has helped me understand my husband a bit more just like the one you read that helped you understand Christine (or women in general) better. The book I read was The Five Love Languages, The Secret to Love That Lasts by Gary Chapman. It was very informative and changed my way of thinking when it comes to trying to understand my husband... lol! 😊🥰

Its very helpful to some women to share the process of how and why men approach things differently. My man is very quiet and i give him lots of alone cave time for several years now. Its been good for both of us. But he doesnt share how he thinks much so i really appreciate when male vloggers talk about this as it helps me understand the male mind and how to be a better companion.

I was a night owl my whole life. My most vivid memories of my earliest years, from the time I was six months old, are of being wide awake for hours in the middle of the night and being sleepy throughout the day. But a year ago, due to health issues, I had to do everything I could to shift my circadian rhythms to the opposite of what they’d always been. Implementing good sleep hygiene habits, I was able to do it, and I’m shocked I’m now an early bird for the first time in my life! It’s changed my life completely and everything is so much better. Every day, I’m so excited when I open my eyes, the birds are singing, and I have an entire fresh, new day ahead. I feel so motivated. Now, I feel my best and am at my best in the morning. As someone who’s suffered from major depression and chronic pain for years, this is nothing short of miraculous to me. Never imagined it could happen.

Really scary - 3 point which seems to be me at all 😅 For a long time i thought i need to be what the society or my parents told me to be - having a modern house, because old ones are bad, having a good work, because without there is less safety, going out with friends, because everyone does, having a modern car, because old ones will cause troubles. But all this just exhausts me in a bad way and most of it i don't need. The result is a reset, taking a new piece of paper and no one understands or telling us, it is crazy and dangerous.
Having conversations with my wife which seems to be pretty the same. Calling me hundrets of kilometers away, that she isn't able to manage something or feeling bad about something which didn't work and i give her solutions, but she's angry afterwards - how should anyone understand this? Now i might do, thank you for this Tip!
Back the days i also thought, i need to work and being creative during the night. But in the end and with my first "flexible hours" Job i've turned off the alarm, which is still off now for 8 years. The result wasn't that good at all. I've got up at 3 or 4 in the morning because i thought, i need to get up and work early to get all the stuff done. Managed to get out of it and now i have kids...they decide, when i need to get up 😂And no one knows it better, when you need to get up, than your kids... But still working on this point.
It is really scary to see your version of these point - for a long time i thought, there might barely be any other person having this kind of issue. But it seems there are many of us on this world

I do that too. Going in the bathroom and waiting there for some time. x)
I'm fighting hard to live a happy life instead of doing what society tells me to do (the "comfort" you mentioned).
A book about sleep ? I need that one. x) What's the title though ?
I tend to avoid binary books. In old societies (like Natives, indigenous, etc. societies), there weren't binary vision of either men or women and nothing else. It was more inclusive and so, yeah. I tend to be cautious with those books that are too binary and can be imprisoned in boxes.
There's a reason old societies had more than two genders. Also, never forget that some people don't come in the world man or woman, but intersex.

I have read from some old books that people in the past actually hibernated in wintertime in some areas in now-Russia near the border of Estonia where we live now. As food was scarce they just filled their stomach with a "porridge" made anything they could find and sometimes also ground up spruce needles where added. So, this what Moomins do in the wintertime is not just a fairytale.
I sometimes have thought that nordic people should implement something similar to siesta in the wintertime to cope with the "wintertime exhaustion". What should it be called...I don't know. Any ideas? Wiesta 😂?
Nordic people also seem to drink highest amounts of coffee per person as far as I know. Instead we should just allow ourselves to have naps. Imagine having extra rooms for napping in offices? Wouldn't that be great. 😴😪
