Just come across this channel, and I'm in the market for a new case. This is by far one of the best reviews of this case that I have found on YT. Your conclusions and thought process was exactly what I was looking for, as the other channels was slating this case and wasn't really explaining why. Nice vid and thank you!
I have the same case! You will have better results if you flip the top fans over. Out of the box they are set to intake for some reason. Also. That HD bay cover installs much better from the inside (looks more neat).
On the Sekira 500 cases the two front fans and the two top fans are all intake fans, with only the rear fan being an exhaust fan. The way you mounted your radiator fans will create negative pressure.
I have seen some marketing graphics that show the air flow with top as exhaust. "Looks better" won. But any person who knows air flow will reverse the upside fans, and pick up the X sillioutte on the top fans.
OK so I know you said at the end that the thermoses were OK. Is it still holding up pretty well and also do you have a estimated average temperature in your Room. It's just a lot of glass. And not a lot of venting.
Hi, Interesting build, but the AIO watercooling fans on push (exhaust) and top case fans (intake) not problems ??the radiator is sandwiched ? Really good ?
@@ActionRPG ok thank for your answer ! I go to do the same with my new build sekira 500x, but you don’t think is probably better to switch all on (intake) with AIO fan pull (intake) because on (exhaust) the glass block the heat ?
I had chosen this case because of the upfront ports, 3.5 HDs as I have a large storage space set up for photos and video on 4 non SSDs. I had read the problems with the air flow, but also that people solved it by just reversing the top fans. Which should be exhaust anyway. Just like marketing images show AIOs installed wrong because it looks nice. The fans are intake because they didn't want the X silhouettes from fan frame on the top. I am building this week, we'll see.

I have a similar build, the case and mobo being the same here, and the issue I seem to can't figure out is the top 3 holes on the mobo for the screws to screw into the mobo aren't aligning but everything else is. Have you seen or heard of similar issues.
I just finished my build with this case, like you said, the back case cover is a pain to get closed with cable management, it's insane. Now, is there a way to control the case fans via an application ? They are soooo bright, I want to dim them down but I can't figure out how. I have an Asus Z690-E board so MSI Dragon center doesen't work and MSI does not support Aura sync. Any idea on how to do this ? Thanks
I have same case but can you explain me this what is the point while top fans getting inside the air and aio liquid cooler is blow down to up outside they are crushing and my top fans started making sound so bad. There is no way to use radiator on top if you try to get the air in with turn upside the cooler fans, case is burning cuz taking hot air from radiator.
How’s the airflow on this? Although big case, I’ve heard it can get pretty hot. I’ve been thinking of buying it as the look is insane but want to see if it’s worth it ?! Help??!
Thanks for the quick reply and one last question, It’s my first time trying to build my own pc, I’m really after any 3080 I can get as long as it’s no too expensive. Also want to add in an msi 360 liquid cooler would you advice on a mid or full tower?
Hey dude , did you connect the data cable from the the rgb controller into jcorsair1 ? , I feel like I need a adapter or something ? . I’m currently building my first pc 😅
I feel like I need to look... All fans into the fan controller and JC1... its alot of fun, did u figure it out!? join my discord if u need help: discord.gg/s6tPRPJ
I have the MSI Sekita 500x case, which is awesome by the way! The motherboard is the MSI MPG Z490 Carbon WiFi. It seems I can only connect 2 of the 4 top USB type 2 ports? Can you confirm for me please?
To HEATH GOOD: Hi there, not sure if you already found a solution or not. I'm posting just in case. You are correct, the MSI MPG z490 carbon wifi has only one USB3 header. This case uses 2 separate USB3 cables to connect all the front USB ports. If you want to be able to use all USB ports in the front of the case then you need a motherboard with 2 USB3 headers. I have the MSI MEG X570 ACE which has 2 USB3 headers.
Hey man, love the video but also in love with the case, only have one question really. Is there anything bad about leaving the fans pre installed on top of the case if you are installing a radiator with more fans directly under them? How does it affect air flow?
you normally want top rads setup as exhaust, if you dont flip the top fans you will create negative pressure which is bad for cooling.... if you dont wanna flip them then just setup the top rad as push... so they match! it wont make a huge deal! If you have any other questions join my discord and we can talk direct: discord.gg/nVmBEeX
I was thinking about ordering this case my question is if you flip the top two fans do you also flip the fans for the water cooler so everything is exhausting and if so wouldn't that be pulling warm air through the radiator?
yes ive done multiple tests, you want top case fans and rad fans to be set to exhaust. setting it as intake will cool the CPU a lil bit more (not noticeable) butttt will heat the other internal components more, main GPU (never want extra heat on GPU). Good rule is Top Rad: Exhaust / Front Rad: Intake! Hope this helps!
Wait how do you have a 360mm aio up top with another 2 fans up top as well? It looks like you have the 2 fans on top of the radiator but there’s 3 fans on the bottom of it as well. How do you install that?
Could you add fans above the radiator to help push the hot air out? I just bought this case due to it being in stock for a short time and am outside the return policy. But worried for airflow.
@@ActionRPG so I plan on getting the nzxt x73 for cooling but I worry about cooling in the case so I was wondering if I could put fans between the top fans and the radiator fan.
Ive been using the system for 13 months, no temp problems.... and i game at 1440 and render 4k video! its forsure not the coolest case buttttt its the best looking!
Thinking of getting this case. Surprised at how very little reviews there is on YT on it. I have a question though. How is this case for dust? Is there any dust filters?
yes multiple dust filters! ive had no cooling problems but its not the coldest or quietest case...... but its by far the best looking ;) amzn.to/31WoX5B
Hey mate, thanks for the review, I am seriously looking at getting this case in the next week but had one question, a few people have complained on threads about an odd clicking noise coming from the preinstalled 200mm rgb fans, have you noticed anything of the sort, and do you think this case would do fine with an air cpu cooler? Or should I am for a mesh front case if I am air cooling, thanks.
thanks for the comment Rock! ive had the fan click happen 1 time, literally did a cleaning (get dust out) and it fixed it... Air CPU cooler is fine! Mess front will always offer better cooling but from a build quality and looks perspective this is best on the market (my opinion) amzn.to/2Bh91kp
@@ActionRPG Thanks heaps for the reply, sounds like the issue with the fans is not much of a problem at all then. I have also decided to make sure I get a good aftermarket air cooler so I think my previous concern of airflow in the case won't an issue anymore! I also agree that this is one of the nicest looking cases out there, and it seems very well designed. If I end up building with this I will upload a photo of the result.
Hey man I'm trying to find a case that will suit the amount of water cooling parts I have. Will this fit 2 radiators from ek and a 140mm distro block and d5 pump with Plexi top. Would be a cpu and gpu loop
@@ActionRPG Did you see any difference in temps/air pressure when flipping the 200mm fans?? I am debating on either flipping the top 2 msi fans for exhaust or just running my 3 static fans as intake and upgrading the little 120mm case fan for exhaust
airflow is decent, I play games at max setting while rendering 4k video and have no problem with Heat! but any front mess case will still perform better. now from a looks and build quality standpoint its the BEST! In my opinion! Ray join my discord if you wanna chat or ask me any other questions: discord.gg/nVmBEeX
Hello, i understand the case has doors on both sides but is it possible to take the front off, and as well as that is it all aluminum and glass or does it have plastic bits especially the clips, i find the clips to clip in parts of cases always break on me and i am trying to avoid that this time by getting a stronger case, also would it be difficult to install certain type of radiators? and have you noticed any issues with any of the fans due to high noise or bad cooling? I also noticed u had your graphics card horizontal but did u get extra parts to have it vertical or is that something you have to buy seperately?
case build quality is A+! 1. front comes off easily and clips feel strong 2. rad install is a breeze if your installing up top (but make sure you flip top 2 fans) 3. it comes with bracket for vertical GPU is thats what you want to do. 4. im have no issues with cooling and i stress the machine regularly its been a rockstar!
@@ActionRPG Hello again, i have received my case today and unboxed it and i have to say im in love with it, but i cant figure out how you flip the top two fans i can't seem to find the screws for it or where to pull something off, i dont wanna break the thing i just got! i also want to figure out the front part is there a way to get into that or do i need to pull everything out? would you be able to explain in detail or create a small video on how to do it please? because i can't seem to find one on that specificly.
When you switched flipped your top fan orientation did you do just your AIO fans or did you flip the top MSI 200mm fans so they were in the correct orientation? its weird that MSI would have them installed as intake and not exhaust from the factory... not gonna lie made me question MSI a bit and my whole build revolves around MSI.
Thanks for the comment, you definitely want to set it up as exhaust, so flip the top fans in the case... it will make a big difference with CPU cooling on this case! if you think I deserve it please consider subscribing! please reachout if you have any other questions. Stay home and stay safe! :)
I was thinking about ordering this case my question is if you flip the top two fans do you also flip the fans for the water cooler so everything is exhausting and if so wouldn't that be pulling warm air through the radiator?
@@enzojr444 I have mine running like that for now to see how it performs and so far having them all exhausting brought my MSI Gaming X Trio 2080ti down by 12 degrees Celsius and my CPU (which is a Ryzen 9 3800x) is running below 50 Degrees Celsius. I play Modern Warfare all graphics on ultra and apex all ultra at 1440p. I plan to see how it does if i switch the AIO fans but so far ive had no issues. Otherwise the case is phenomenal! @@thedadalorian1974 thank you for the info without even realizing before I even watched his video I pretty much ordered the same exact computer he did as far as Parts go only difference is I'm using the graphics card I already own Titan X Pascal I just get a little nervous because this is my first built my previous computer was pre-made xidax. So just two more questions if you wouldn't mind so only the top fans are exhausting the front fan is still on intake the way it came out of the box? And to how can you tell which way the fans are supposed to Face for exhaust when putting them on the cooler I've downloaded instructions for the cooler and it doesn't really show anything for directions of push or pull? Thank you so much for your time👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@enzojr444 so when you receive the case the top fans AND front fans will be in INTAKE orientation. You will need to flip the fans on the top in order for them to be in EXHAUST orientation. So when it comes to knowing which way they are blowing there will be arrows normally on the side of the fan basically telling you which way the blades spin and the direction of airflow. An easy way to tell is the "pretty side" will always be your intake and the "ugly side" will always be your exhaust side. Hope that helps!
What custom pc cables was that? I tend to use the cables that come with the PSU I buy and always have trouble with cable management due to them been stiff and those one looked nice and easy to work with.
Great Question! As GamersNexus breaks down the H500P Mesh is pretty much TOP you can get from an air cooled case, so if you plan on over clocking thats probably a better bet.... if your an MSI fanboy like me, care about fit / finish / build quality, care about looks / RGB, and want the latest and greatest than 500x Sekira is for you... cooling has been excellent but haven't really stressed it yet... 4k rendering / gaming on ultra and still stays cool! @@ActionRPG I subbed mate. I'm saving up money to finish up my incomplete build. I'm itching to get my gaming pc ready. I might still get the Sekira 500x since I'm a huge MSI Fanboy, but I'm still considering H500P Mesh. I'd go for x72 NZXT AIO for i9 9900k or Ryzen 9 3900x depending on which one has better deal.
1. Best Looking Case Ive Owned! 2. Very Easy to Build Inside! 3. Crazy RGB! 4. I keep Testing the cooling and have had no problems... Im editing and rendering 4k content while playing new ARPG's on max settings. Its still early but no red flags as of now!
hi , can someone tell me if this case is compatible with the MSI x570 Unify motherboard ? There are ARGB fans on the case, and if I'm right they need 5V 3pins connector to work. on the specification of the motherboard, there is : 1x 4-pin RGB LED connector 2x 3-pin RAINBOW LED connectors 1x 3-pin CORSAIR connector Am I good ? I'm a bit confused with the different types of RGB, the headers, the softwares ...
@@ActionRPG Thank you !! the sellers thought it wasn't compatible, but it didn't 't make sense. On another video, a guy shows the entire motherboard and it appears it have two Jrainbow male pin header. I too believe it will be compatible.
@@ActionRPG yeah I understand but now I'm 99% sure. It is said on the MSi mystic light page (in how too section): "JRAINBOW (3-Pin): The JRAINBOW male header is for addressable WS2812 RGB LED (ARGB) which shows in rainbow color." and in two reviews of this motherboard (Laurent's choice and Gear Seeker) the JRainbow pin header are shown. I'm gonna mess with it, thinking I can figure a way to sync it all to Mystic Light through the software! gotta be possible! I will get back to you and thanks for the comment! Please consider subscribing, us PC guys gotta stick together ;)
I have the same issue. I use MSI Meg Unifi X570 motherboard and MSI sekira case. Dragon Centre detected my Corsair Memory and AMD stock fan BUT....not my MSI ARGB fan @ Dragon Centre. I connected the provided MSI hub through JRainbow slot at my motherboard. I am disappointed, I paid so much for my Sekira X case with advertised Mystic Lighting support. Felt cheated.

I hate to give you the bad news but Mystic Light will only control your: Ram, Mobo, Mouse, Keyboard, and Monitor..... everything else plugged into the box inside the PC will be controlled with the top button on the case! it sux!

I guess he didn't notice that the Top Fans on the Case are Intake NOT Exhaust yet he put the Fans on AIO Cooler Facing the Opposite Direction so the Fans on the Cooler Blow up while the Fans above are Blowing Down so I don't understand how he is getting any Cooling at all on that AIO with the Fans Fighting each other by Pushing Against each Other. :face_palm:
The sekira 500x is a hot box cooling is one of the worst ever the fact that you said you had no suisse with cooling g means you did not run any efficient test for temps lol

looks like this would have shit airflow. where is fresh air coming in, all the fans are blocked by glass. the small mesh on the sides is barely enough for a high end build.
I bought this case, built it the same day, returned it 2 weeks later. The air flow is horrible. I had to manually ramp up all fans to max RPM but it hardly helped. I used the "smoke test" to determine where the airflow was. Holding the smoke machine right next to the intake vents revealed that there was hardly ANY airflow. GPU temps wouldn't drop below 70 degrees celsius when when watching basic UA-cam videos. CPU temps reached 80 degrees. It's a beautiful case, its a shame the hardware can't breath in there. I traded it for a corsair 4000d airflow and all components are now running nice and cool.
This case actually has terrible air flow. 4/5 fans are choking sitting right behind solid glass. At least with the double removable doors people can remove them both and sit it next to a floor fan. only then could it get the air it needs.
@@ActionRPG and the rest of the 8 months of the year? I bet your AC needs to be blasting for your "baby" to even survive. Poor air flow = high temps in case = thermal sensors triggering fans to max speed = all your system fans burning out in record speed. If you want/need to overclock anything inside the case, air flow and cooling become pretty damn important. This case is awesome in every way, except for the one thing a case like this is meant to do. Keeping your expensive computer parts cool. Honestly, rip off the top and front of the case... Custom build your own perforated top and front paneling. Only then would this case be = to the rating you gave it. How much did MSI pay you for this video I wonder? 🤔
@@SuperSqueekyclean I recently bought this case & im honestly very worried with the airflow, you mean ripping off the external parts of front & top and only keeping the fans outside while switching the top fans to "exhaust" side would be good ?
@@vinceth2238 Right, so at first I looked into cutting small holes into the front and top glass panels. Unfortunately tempered glass can't be cut without shattering. All the glass on this case is tempered. So modifying the existing parts in this way is a no go. (DO NOT TRY TO CUT THE GLASS, IT WILL BREAK) The other option is removing the top and front panels and replacing them with perforated black metal mesh aluminum. You can easily buy sheets of this on Amazon for very little cost. Unfortunately there are some downsides to this option. The first being the visual appearance. The paneling will look crude and won't fit the rest of the look of the case, but functionality over appearance in my opinion. The second being you will have to custom build your paneling and will need the tools and time to do this. The metal sheets are flat and would need to be measured, marked, cut, bent, and mounted to the case somehow. This would require drilling and installing screws to hold the panels in place as well as having the electrical cutting tool needed for this job + some tools to bend and shape the panels around the edges. Transferring over the case buttons on the top paneling would be another hurdle to overcome as well. If your willing to undertake this DIY project it will definitely improve the cases air flow in the end and correct the only flaw this case has. The other option is to just leave the glass doors off the case entirely. This is a much easier/simple option that requires no work. The only downside is you have 2 doors laying around somewhere. I myself have opted for this option and by monitoring thermals through software/hardware GPU and CPU temps are completely fine averaging around 30-40°C at idle and my graphics card gets up to 50-60°C at max over clock and running games for hours and hours. These temps are completely fine but over clocked and under load I have to manually set my graphics card fan speed to 80% to hold these temps. You could choose to not over clock and temps/fan speeds would be much lower. To answer your question about the fan orientation. If your leaving the glass paneling on then I would leave the case fans as is. The front and top fans are set to blow inwards into the case. If you change the top fans to blow outward, the air will just bounce off the glass and go back into the case anyways. If you do DIY the paneling as mentioned above I would swap the fans on the top paneling to have them blow outward. The liquid cooling that you should have mounted at the top of the case on the retractable trey produces heat, hot air from other components in your case rise to the top given the properties of physics and how hot air works(it rises). Having the front fans blowing in (cool air) and the top ones blowing out (hot air) is the most ideal setup. The AiO cooler fans should also be installed to blow air upwards leaving your AiO sandwiched between fans on the bottom(AiO fans) and the top(case fans). This setup would actually keep your AiO even cooler having several fans helping air flow through the radiator fins. The main reason you want to have the top fans all blowing outwards is because the AiO liquid gets hot while in use. Having fans blowing air down into the case through the AiO is only blowing hot air into your case and onto your hardware. Kind of defeating the purpose of what the fans are meant to do. If you have your AiO mounted at the front of your case (This is a BIG no no, don't do it) then the front fans should blow outward while the top ones blow in. This is a far less ideal setup for your fans but it is the best option with a front case mounted AiO. I haven't thought about removing the paneling and replacing it with nothing. I suppose this could work in theory and wouldn't require the hassle of custom made panels... But if you do this you better make sure no large objects fall into your case... Nothing there to protect it if something like that happens. This is kind of a long explanation, but hopefully it answers your question.
@@SuperSqueekyclean First of all thanks for taking your time to answer & explain to me ! To clarify im completely new at this & never thought that a case this expensive would have so much of a shittiest airflow, defenitely not making that mistake again on not watching the reviews. Anyway, your suggestion on getting rid of the unecessary front glass panel & top glass panel that ruin the air absorption of the fans seems like the better idea for me. Unfortunately i dont have a workbench, the tools & the necessary area to place new panels on them so this is a no no for me. But your suggestion is definitely what ive been thinking & what i will go to for this piece of crap. As you said im planning on removing front & top, switching top fans to exhaust (my AIO cooler fans are already on exhaust), so this will be 2 AIO fans + 2 top fans exhaust & 2 front fans intake. However i have 2 questions, first i only have the msi mag 240r aio cooler which means only 2 fans ! Do you think this will be enough to blow the heat above ? Also i plan on letting both Side glass panels (the doors), what do you think ? Should i rip em off too ? So i get a completely open setup ( which im not sure is good because it will get more dust) or should i let the side panels which will be enough to cool the pc ?

I had the same problem with the fans, when i contact msi they sent me new one but after i replace it the next one stopped working. Fans in case are really poor quality btw. u can check in any monitoring program that they are not spinning equally, each of them have their own speed which is bad tbh. Not worth 220£ U can buy nice and really good NZXT case with already installed rgb inside for like 165£?
there is a lot of issue with the case, i probably will only give it a 3/10. I purchase this case for my new system, did some testing as Receive the case, it have major design issue, all 200mm fan sit only 1cm of the tempered glass, have to checked the airflow on it, cut a small piece of paper and see which way is go, the fan created a vacuum in the centre and re-circulate all the air around it. the air flow never travel more than 5cm, but the noise did, MSI Probably know all the design fails and it look like they took a case from the manufacture in China and just add in all the idea into it, it have a 120mm fan mount on the bottom but is useless due to the 3.5inch HDD area bracket , the chassis is design to only use fan size 3x120 or 3x140 for top and front, they want to add in tempered glass and 200mm ARGB, because it look good, but didn't do any testing on airflow which have none other than a small 120mm exhaust fan because they don't have a 140mm ARGB fan themselves. I can say the case LOOK amazing, but function wise is RUBBISH , testing it out yourself. I will prefer MSI to stick to Motherboard and Graphic Card, still out of the other part, or do it probably
test it by removing the fan all together in one test, and also test with front install 2x140 from the inside of the chassis, i still waiting for my motherboard to actually build my system

I have the MSI Sekita 500x case, which is awesome by the way! The motherboard is the MSI MPG Z490 Carbon WiFi. It seems I can only connect 2 of the 4 top USB type 2 ports? Can you confirm for me please?
let me see what I can find tonight, I didnt have that problem with my MSI Meg Ace x570 board
Action RPG thanks a bunch mate, so you just set the fans on top of the case and the radiator fans to go the same direction right?
EXACTLY!
Action RPG this comment got the subscribe! Glad to see guys like you still out there.
@@ActionRPG how to remove the top plate ? And if i flip top two fans would it br better airflowin case ?
Wait how do you have a 360mm aio up top with another 2 fans up top as well? It looks like you have the 2 fans on top of the radiator but there’s 3 fans on the bottom of it as well. How do you install that?
you have to flip the top 2 fans.... so on the top I have 5 exhaust fans! 2 case and 3 rad

Could you add fans above the radiator to help push the hot air out? I just bought this case due to it being in stock for a short time and am outside the return policy. But worried for airflow.

Ok perfect, I wanna see the finished product!
You put the radiator fans below the case fans . Is it good?
Yes it works perfectly, you just have to flip the top case fans so all 5 are exhaust!

yup it was a nightmare but i got it!!! lol

I also noticed u had your graphics card horizontal but did u get extra parts to have it vertical or is that something you have to buy seperately?

@@enzojr444 so when you receive the case the top fans AND front fans will be in INTAKE orientation. You will need to flip the fans on the top in order for them to be in EXHAUST orientation. So when it comes to knowing which way they are blowing there will be arrows normally on the side of the fan basically telling you which way the blades spin and the direction of airflow. An easy way to tell is the "pretty side" will always be your intake and the "ugly side" will always be your exhaust side. Hope that helps!

i havent had any problems with cooling but yes not the coolest case...

At least with the double removable doors people can remove them both and sit it next to a floor fan. only then could it get the air it needs.
it keeps me nice and warm in the winter months lol
(DO NOT TRY TO CUT THE GLASS, IT WILL BREAK)
The other option is removing the top and front panels and replacing them with perforated black metal mesh aluminum.
Every people build pc in case msi sekira 500x use meg msi z490 or x570 and ram's Gskill Trident z royal xD
Its beautiful 🥺🥺
its awesome!
I wish I knew how to build a PC! :(
practice makes perfect. watch a few tutorials and try to reverse engineer a prebuilt system. trust me you’ll get the hang
This is why I have trust issues 🙄
Shame the airflow sucks on this case :(
ya great build quality, looks great, very functional but avg airflow.... ive had no problem with cooling yet even under 4k rendering and 4k gaming!
@@ActionRPG my gpu varies between 50 and 60's bit been so muggy lately its been higher and cpu is around the same im running a ryzen 3700 x and apparently known to run slightly hotter but iv removed the glass on the top from.the surround so now the heat can rise properly and not warm up the glass and have some trapped heat in there
what CPU cooler are you using!?
@@ActionRPG deepcool castle 360 EX idle is around 40's
ILL PAY U A POTATO FOR IT
how many potatoes is the question?

One of my fans on the top of this monitor stopped working after only 3 weeks. I'll never buy msi again 250€ for a bad quality. Beurk !!
I haven't had any problems like that, have you reaching out to MSI? if its new I'm sure they will replace it.
Im gonna do some temp testing this weekend.. very curious the results
@@ActionRPG I Still try to re-engineer the case to make it work, will let you know If i come up with anything
test it by removing the fan all together in one test, and also test with front install 2x140 from the inside of the chassis, i still waiting for my motherboard to actually build my system
@@ActionRPG how did you testing go
doing it tonight will get back to you!!!! fingers crossed lol
Dude get a better camera jesus.
Made that video 304 days ago! Everything has been updated since! Thanks for the comment
Where would I need to install the fans that come with my liquid cooler Nzxt X53 if I wanted to include that in here?
top as exhaust, but you gotta flip the top case fans
@@ActionRPG okay thanks
@@ActionRPG Hi! Do i get you right, u flipped the 200mm fans and uses the top as an exhaust?
CORRECT!
