Would like a door style at the front. 5.25 still got a place if you want a bd burner either for reading your dvd/cd/bd files or as some extra backup method for critical data using high quality BDs.
I'm still reluctant to buy a case with solid front and top. In fact, the only solid front case I'd buy is the Silent Base 802, and that's because I can swap the front to a mesh panel.
Love the video! You know whats funny, I am done with AIO water coolers. Switched my setup to all fans. Even took the watercooling off my 1080ti for a ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme III. It is actually just as cool or even cooler in some situations. Mostly in VR. I do not understand why. I even reapplyed thermal paste because I was having some dropped frames in VR. But now everything is cooler and just about as quiet. Never going back at this point. plus now I dont have 4 huge tubes in the way when I want to do stuff in my case. Maybe this was because of 2 radiators gone. But I honestly dont care because of convience. Now this case... I WANT IT!!!. Again great video! I plan on buying it now.
Haha, it's a very badass and no-nonsense case, especially if you're air cooling. Honestly, I'm not sold on watercooling either. It looks amazing when done right, and temps should be way better than on air (though not always, as in your case), but as someone who constantly fiddles around with their system, it's just not worth the hassle for me. That being said, your situation does sound a little strange. Unless there's something very wrong with your AIOs, then temps shouldn't be better at all when switching back to fans... The AIO I was using in this vid dropped my CPU temps significantly compared to the stock Wraith cooler.
@@TheTechTank With my AIO water coolers they always preformed better short term. I originally was like "damn I am never using air cooling again". But long play sessions in VR, 5 or so hours the temps slowly get worse and towards the end to the sessions I had a few framerate drops and hiccups. In VR this is jarring. I probably would have never noticed or been bothered if I didn't play VR. Temps stay steady with me long term with air. Also I don't use a warith, I use the esport duo. I am sure vs the Wraith my AIO was better even in long sessions. Also GPU wise I have a 1080TI FE. So water cooling that was a huge boost. But still with the ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme III I am seeing better results in long play sessions. I am sure if I had a real water cooling build the temps would kick my air setup to death. But I am not about that life lol!
@@mazor13 Ah, I see. Yeah, that's definitely a thing with AIOs and watercooling in general. The water heats up little by little the longer the gaming session gets, that's why it's best practice to let benchmarks run for about an hour before checking and reporting temps for AIOs. But usually temps kind of plateau at around 40 or so minutes. It's interesting that yours just kept going up and up, like the radiators and fans just couldn't keep up with the water temperature or something. I'm at least glad that going air helped smooth things out for you!
I am going to change the front fans for two Noctua 140mm industrial fans, but I am going to install them inside the case. Then I will put the 200mm fans on the top panel, taking air out and another 140mm on the back. I hope it will help. with temps.
Hell yeah man! That brushed aluminum look is pretty sexy. Would look super nice with corsair peripherals with the same brushed look. It's super expensive but it'd probably look suuuuper sick with MSI components... Then you could call it an "MSI Trident XL"
Oh heck yeah, have a Corsair K70 Lux that looks great next to it! Lol, that's not a bad name actually. MSI has some killer components that would look amazing in this case. Would love to do some sort of an "all MSI build" at some point. Then others centered around other brands.
Hey man, I know there's a ton of videos on how to install windows on a nvme or just an ssd but could you do a video or could you explain how to do this. BTW this was a great video🔥🔥
Thanks man! I don't know about doing a video, since like you said, there are a ton of them already. But it's really pretty simple. Had to install Win 10 on a system with an SSD just the other day. You essentially just do what you would with a normal hard drive. Grab an 8GB or higher flash drive, download the Windows media creation tool, then tell it to turn the flash drive into a Windows install drive. Then pop that into the system, boot off of it, go through the motions until it asks you where to install, and then just click on the SSD and it should work without a hitch. It does normally go a bit smoother if you don't have any other drives plugged into the system during the install, so just make sure that only your SSD and the Windows flash disk is plugged in. Then after you're up and running you can add whatever other drives you want to use. Hope that helps! If not, feel free to let me know.
Hi! Top fans are not included with the case. The case comes with two 200mm fans in the front, and a single 12mm in the rear. I arranged the fans of the AIO cooler in an exhaust configuration when I installed it.
Hey there I'm looking to buy this case and was wondering if the fans still were functioning after a few days, because of reviews on the case I've been a little hesitant to buy it. If you could help me out that would be great!
Hi, yip the fans worked just fine for a couple of weeks after this video all the way until I had to send the case back. I haven't seen all that many reports about the fans dying, so I wouldn't worry about that.
is this case available in the US? I can only case find it online internationally. Great video by the way! Im new to the pc gaming world and found your video pretty informative. thumbs up here!
6:41 I have this case; how did you manage to remove the front bezel? Also, I am finding it difficult to install 2 x 200mm fans on the top; any guides how to do that? Thanks !
Hi! You can remove the front panel either by squeezing the clips together on the inside of the case, or just by giving the bottom of the panel a quick and hard tug (it's the more dangerous of the two options, obviously, lol). As for the fans in the top, you shouldn't be having any trouble... just remove the top panel and screw the fans in.
@@TheTechTank Yes I managed to do that thank you! I'm finding it difficult to find holes for the screws that match the Noctua 200mm fans; hopefully I'll find an alignment eventually! :)
@@VincentFarrugia Oh cool, glad you're making some progress at least! I didn't spend all that much time fiddling around with the top fan area on this case, but I think that the mounting holes may have been placed where they are specifically for the MSI 200mm fans, and those might have non-standard mounting hole placements. I hope that's not the case 'cause that would suck. If that is the case, I'd suggest some strategically-placed double-sided tape 🤣
I just not long ago got this case and have been looking at videos on how to build with it, since this will be my very first build. There was one video that suggested to take the top two fans and flip them for better cooling. Is this a good method?
The only two top fans I have in this build are the ones for the radiator configured as exhaust (blowing hot air out of the case). I prefer this configuration for cases with a lot of front airflow like this one with those two big front fans.
which was to you have your rad fans please? ive seen so many with them pulling the heat down as the 2 top 200mm are bringing air down. ive done this with mine and my whole system is so hot. any help would be gratefull
General rule of thumb is to have fans in the front and bottom (if possible) of the case pulling air into the case, while also having fans at the top and rear blowing air out of the case. In this build, the radiator fans were blowing air out of the system, but if you're worried about your CPU temps you would mount the radiator in the front with fans sucking air into the system (though this generally means the GPU might run a little hotter).
Lol, nice reference. Yeah, glass on the cable sides of cases are a little pointless for most people. But there are always going to be people who will want to show off their cable management, or modifications they made on that side.
