Hello, map maker over here. I just wanted to say thanks for playing my map and also for your videos. I've been watching your channel since 2019 and never got bored a single bit. You are one of the reasons I'm still playing Doom and making maps, and I highly appreciate it. As for the map: - I named it that way because I didn't knew how else to call it, and I'm a big QOTSA fan so I choose that name. - I took inspiration from Haste map 12, the starting room to be specific. - The flag on the floor wasn't meant to be a sign of disrespectful but as I suck at using Slade and using custom textures I couldn't place it standing, so I choose to draw it on the floor to make seem like the demons threw it. And the whole reason it was there Is because us Chileans always get hyped when Chile is mentioned in the media, like movies and stuff haha. I wish the Doom community in Chile were bigger... :( But anyway, that's all I got to say VIVA CHILE MIERDA!!! - Pelao

I really like the secret at 10:41 where it changes the map to make a fight easier, rather than the more common gun/ammo/megasphere. Pretty unique and interesting!
I like both blind and practiced. I used to hate the blind ones but, on maps that are easy, they're great. The mixture between them both keeps things fresh and with how they're played. Although, sometimes it's fun to see how far you get going blind into a difficult level.
you are one of the few channels that i watch every single video, never skipped one, i enjoy every single one and when i see a yellow background in the preview i get very happy
I generally prefer blind runs, unless the level is really difficult. Blind runs are cool because I feel like the player and I can discover the level together, it's like we're going on an adventure. But if the level is really hard, it can be difficult to find a good tactic. Then you might need a bit of trial and error to figure out where to go first, how best to deal with a large group of enemies, how to use resources wisely, etc. And then I prefer a practiced run, because that's like a tutorial where an expert (the player) teaches a beginner (that's basically me) what they've figured out and what tactics they've gone with, and that's cool too. It has that Bob Ross vibe, where you enjoy watching someone doing something that looks so super easy when he does it until you try it for yourself and figure out, it wasn't easy at all, it was skill.
That 1% hype! Yeah, you could tell from the hot start this wouldn't work blind. I think I'm one of the "chill" gamers who's cool with both blind and practice runs (5:00). Although I do occasionally/frequently drop criticism on the map designs, so it's hard to say I'm "chill". 😅 I didn't pick up on that Queen's of the Stone Age reference in the name. 🤦♂ Glad you called it out so I could look it up, listen, and remember. Like others have said, I dig that secret that makes an arena fight easier.
I get the info may be from the README file, but the music listed is incorrect. The real song title is "The Enchanted Cathedral" and it hails from Hexen II.
My mistake. For some reason I thought Speed of Doom MAP20 used the same MIDI so I looked up the Doom wiki page for SoD20 for the song title. You've guessed it: completely different song. Whoopsie.
2nd secret is so clever, I love it! I mean the reward, instead of providing health/armor/ammo it changes the map. This is true secret, nice! I assume, without secret these are pits with no escape, right? I missed hot start and more difficult map, this one was pretty good! :D Awesome job by map maker, very crepy music and such dark, atmospheric map design. Plutonia 2 HUD! ♥
I find your prepared videos much better. You always explain things so well. And running around searching and fighting the same enemies over and over again is a bit boring for me. I really like watching all of your videos. But I like the ones like this one the best. And when you use the Berserker, I always think it's really great 😀 I've played so much classic doom in my life that I'm always happy when people work efficiently. The Berserker is a great tool for that. It's great that you're making videos again. I really missed them. I hope your family is healthy and you're doing great. Keep it up
I think blind runs are more entertaining than planned, especially if oneself has not played the map before. However I think it's highly depending on the difficulty and lenght. This one for example blind would take a lot more time (and possible frustration?) since it seems a lot more difficult than the other submissions. *Edit: Wrote this when decino was talking about what people prefere. This map does not just seem harder ;)
For chiller wads with lots to see like AUGER;ZENITH blind works best by far. For harder stuff, practiced lets pumpkin man be slick. But I'll certainly take both.
Yes, strict compatibility settings in any zdoom-derived port will re-engage the blockmap bug. It would be nice if any other source port would give the same _option_ but. @@DinnerForkTongue That always bugged me, even way back when prBoom was the purist port of choice. So, did you already play this a while back, and that's why you decided to practice and then record a slick run? Or, did you play it blind and subsequently feel like it would provide better content as a slick run? Or did you think even before you started playing it that you felt like uploading a slick run instead of a blind run? Just curious. I'm not sure why I'm curious, but I am.

Considering the enemy count I don't think anyone can blame you for doing this practiced.
Well, the submitter requested a practised run. The submissions overview in the description shows the requested format.

A secret that makes the final fight easier - pretty great idea for a secret, like it a lot!
Secrets that give you tactical advantages rather than items are super underrated. Trip Switch set the standard, now mappers gotta do it more.
