An excellent, simple and easy to understand review. 10 out of 10 !!! How would you compare this monitor to the Samsung 27 inch monitor with similar specification?
Hi, thanks for your comment, sorry to hear this I didn't notice this when reviewing. Are you within your 14 or 30 day return window to get money back to then purchase another.
Hi, yes this is true as I need to sit close because of my poor sight I couldn't see the pixels but the details wasn't great, I think either a 1440p or a 4K monitor is better.
TechTalk Thanks for reply. Please, tell me, what would you pick: this philips 27” or philips 24” (243v7). They are 1080. both. It’s basically the same, just lower screen size. I will use monitor for pc and PS4. I like to sit near to the screen (about 60-70 cm distance). I won’t gaming only. from time to time I’m graphic designer. I know, bigger screen could be better but I am worried about distance from monitor. I can’t sit further with my keyboard. Did 27” won’t be too big? Will screen be acceptable and clear (pixel ratio).
@@Dropsen1 To help you out, I have a 1440p 27" and 1080p 27" setup. The 1080p one is a little lower in sharpness but i can't really see pixels unless i sit absurdly close. 27inch is probably the limit i would go with for 1080p. 24inch is also nice, but I can't go back to a 24in monitor after using the 27inch
@@emeliehofmeijer8605 I'm very happy with it. So happy I got another Philips 27" monitor that's in the same price range. The second I got is Philips 278E9QJAB/00 and I suggest you go for that one. It has a curved screen and it looks amazing. About the pixels, I can't see them and I think people who say they can are exaggerating and looking for them by getting their face into the screen to find them. I play games on the Philips 278E9QJAB/00 and everything works perfect. Would I like to have a 4k monitor? Of course! Unfortunately I can't afford it so this is well worth the money. They both cost less then 200$ and give you more then great experience for such a cheep price. If you don't want to spend much either one of these models is a good choice.
I'm from Brazil, so I'm sorry for the English mistakes, but I only have one question, did you find any problem in being a 27 inch monitor in a Full HD resolution? can you notice any defect?
Hi, thank you for your comment and never apologise for your language, I didn't notice a problem with the display at this resolution and I do sit close to the monitor, I hope you have had a great weekend?
hi my cousin is looking for a replacement to a TV as she is currently in a long term stay at a hotel room (think of a dorm room). will this be ok for her? it will basically be used for gaming and streaming exclusively. or do you have any other suggestions? cause i am worried if she is siiting a bit further away from this montior, it wont look as good
To be honest, I am having a hard time choosing between this model and DELL SE2719HR. They are in the same price range and the difference is so small. Any help would be appreciated! Oh, and you got a new subscriber as well :)
Hi, there are better options out there this is more for productivity work and day to day office work, check out either Philips momentum or Aoc monitors which are designed towards gaming.
Hi, thanks for your comment as is at the moment no you can't, but as it has a vessa mount it might be possible to buy an arm and mount in portrait and then hope you can rotate 90˚ with in the menus but as it is not designed for this mode it might not work.
Hi, you will get power lead, HDMI, Display Port and hub connection cable. documents and drive disc, this is from memory though and might not be 100% right, you can check link in video description. I hope you have a great day.
Hi, thanks for your comment, I have heard about this, there must be a way in the settings or it might a way to use pressing multiple buttons to disable it, its great to see that these options are on monitors but not when they can't be turned on or off.
Hi, it depends what you are going to be using your monitor for? For me due to my poor sight the larger the monitor the better. I hope you have a great day.
Hey man, I'm currently looking for a good budget monitor. I am choosing between a 24'' 1080p and a 27'' 1080p - will be mainly used on my macbook pro 13 too (2018). Do you think the pixel density will be noticeably bad with a 1440p laptop beside it?
Great review! How would you rate the ppi and quality of the display to QHD models? Is it worth going for QHD for Photoshop and illustrator or FHD in this particular one is sufficient enough? Thanks!
Hi, for tasks you want to do I would recommend check out the Adobe sRGB coverage for great quality in your image editing. I would recommend a QHD monitor. Have a great day.

Just a quick question! So I own a Mac and a ChromeCast. What I plan to do: have my Mac connected via the vga (using an adapter) and then connect my chrome cast via HDMI.When I am not using my computer I would like to use the monitor as a stand in for a tv on my desk since it has built in speakers. What if I found the sound to be lacking on the monitor? If I connected my own external speakers via the audio out/in would the chrome cast be able to play audio over the external speakers?
