I like the orc face sculpts. They are kind of smiling which harkens back to the old Kev Adams space orks. Also nice that you only need two books, unlike some other popular company which nowadays requires you to build an addition onto your house as a dedicated library space for all the dumb books they are selling you. Might be a bit fiddly. You could perhaps do something for the 4 big orc guys, but the rest, I don't think so. You've got two separate arms holding separate weapons so that's not going to work.
@@EsotericOrderGamers I'm not happy with 40k, because of who runs it. But I've been developing my own grimdark setting for over 20 years now. That setting, I am happy with. If a different company handled 40k in a different manner, yes I'd be happy with it. If not for the tone, the flavor of the lore, etc, the setting wouldn't even spark my interest.
@@EsotericOrderGamers it's great to create, but it's still a shame that evil people are taking over gaming and forcing their evil beliefs and values on others. anyway, the reason I brought it up is that I want competition for 40k to succeed and take nice chunks from their bottom line, and it was on that note that I was pointing out that while you might be pulling some 40k fans with a by-line like that, there's definitely more that would be turned off by "no grimdark." Not that I'm saying you shouldn't make the setting you like and want to play in, just be mindful that grimdark is a popular aspect of the 40k setting and one of the pillars responsible for it's popularity.

Business people trying to increase profits as much as possible in order to please their shareholders, sure, but evil? 🙄 I wasn't trying particularly trying to pull anyone with the tagline and really care if it turns anyone off. There's really not that much thought behind it; I was merely using it as a shorthand way to differentiate Fireflight from the scifi game everyone already knows - it's going to be compared to W40K whether anyone likes it or not. Been circling around tabletop wargaming for years. First tentitive steps with painting RPG minis. Might finally make the proper jump in with this set.

I used to play 40k, but the grimdark sadness and all the demon stuff is a big part of why I stopped.
The orks are new hard plastic models for most of them.
I'm a Star Wars Legion player, but I've been getting into Deadzone. Firefight seems great even if it's just for the miniatures!

I'm all for competition for 40k, but "without the grimdark" couldn't be further from a selling point for me.
You must be very happy with 40K then - all good! But constant grimdark isn't for everyone ...
