While 3+ tanks/vehicles isn’t exactly my thing, I can’t say I would avoid playing a tank centric game at least once.
I think the reason why you dont really see such a game at the 25/32mm level is that what you really want is 20+ tanks and the investments you would need requires the game to be shrunk to the Epic/Battletech/Armada size battlefield.
Well GCPS (aaand Enforcer, Veer-myn and Forge Fathers) player here - I usually come with 2 fliers and up to 5 mules. So I am pretty excited to switch something/add some tanks to my lists.
Anyone else notice Ronnie talking about zooming into tank and flyer vs infantry battles while there is an AT-AT right behind him... lol.... the iconic walker vs flyer vs infantry battle scene in the last 41 years...
I hope this gets people excited because I want to see Mantic and their games grow but honestly for me I'd rather they release another faction instead. Was really hoping we might see Rebs or something entirely new come to Firefight (and Deadzone).
I understand your viewpoint but from Mantics side just adding a new faction only really appeals to existing players and Mantic fans. They’re trying to grow the audience and grow the game so trying a different approach and making it stand out visually from other sci fi games isn’t so bad an idea.
Played a game of KoW with a friend yesterday and despite the "simple" ruleset i was thinking and strategizing harder during the whole game than i did with whfb

Loving warpath firefight so much!! Just finished a 5000 point battle. Finished painting 10,000 points of forge fathers and 5k of marauders. This is the game I’ve been waiting for!!

Lots of tanks sounds awesome. I think its going to be fun to field a bunch of the big units in the game.
I hope this means new models to go along with the old. there's only a couple of vehicles for each faction, and most are not what I'd call a tank.

Great next step but I’m worried that it may fall into the trap of Warpath and Firefight (1st edition). For the health of the game they need more releases more often. The lead up to 2nd edition there was a flood of videos about it and battle reports. After a month or two from its release that has died down. What happened with Warpath (great game) after the kickstarter fulfillment there was no new release. It wasn’t promoted due 8th edition 40K was release at the same time. They we’re waiting for that to die down to push the game (from manticore at a q&a). So no new releases until 5 to 6 months around the same time as 10th edition 40K is supposed to hit. I love this game but my fear is with such a long time between releases. Add to the fact a new edition of 40K hits by the time of the next wave for Firefight is it will become unsupported again. I hope I am wrong this game deserves to have a larger following.

Tanks, nice.......but i really hope they have a better design than the Forge Father one........that one is suitable for cityfight maybe but really looks like getting bogged down as soon as they come across uneven terrain.......my 2 cents.

1. mantic makes great games and a its a good team. i buy their books and their models (despite having a 3d printer) 2. ronnie has a great hairline - at the old age of 34 i am jealous
A little criticism is that mantic already sell 3 vehicles for the price of 2, and Ronnie isn't saying that.

I am getting 5th Edition 40K vibes from this announcement. Make of that what you will.
I found the sound distortion made it hard to watch.
Mmmm, sure this will be fun as well but I was really hoping to get some of the other factions, both existing like Rebs or still unseen like the Zz'orr, into Firefight. That said I could see the Zz'orr coming to Deadzone first, shame about the Rebs still missing though. Firefight seems like the perfect sized game for them, still there's always a count as force.
Granted I'm not really the target audience for this one, much more of a hobbyist than a gamer. I'm more invested in the universe than the actual game(s). Though certainly more fans and players can only be a good thing for the IP, and Mantic as a whole of course.
