Happy 17 mai!! here is lesson # 4. Enjoy! Please "like" my facebook page: / themichellealexandra Lyrics and translation for the Norwegian national anthem: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ja,_vi_e...
My great grandfather Trigby Christensen was a Norwegian professional skier before that was even a thing back in the 30's. The language as I go along with you seem's to just roll off of my tongue. I love it.
Hi! Greetings form Mexico. i´ve always been interested in Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and Icelandic cultures, i try to read, watch movies or hear music whenever i have the oportunity. Phonetically norwegian language seems to me really beautiful and i find fascinating how... polite it is constructed. Thank you for giving us the chance to learn such a beautiful language, i strongly encourage you to keep making these videos, they are great... TUSEN TAKK!! :D
I really like your teaching style, I'm Norwegian but have lived in America my whole life. I'm trying to get back in touch with the culture and language. Your lessons are the best, #5 please!!!
Trinket Shihtzu same bror, I am learning so I can surprise my family next time I see my aunts and grandparents. They all can speak or somewhat speak Norsk but I'm not around enough to learn much, Jeg onsker deg lykke til
Tusen takk for all your norwegian tutorials. I would love to see some more of them. I know they take some time but they are great! PLEASE UPLOAD MORE :D
Hei! I'm planning a trip to Lofoten and Tromsoe in Dec 2014, and your little lessons are definitely a nice way to get in touch with norvegian language. Actually before looking at your videos I had no real clue about it (apart from the fact it was close to swedish) and I find it really really nice! Hope you'll post more videos! Greetings from Geneva!
Michelle, congrats, great videos excellent lessons!, and you also sing very very good! Bravo! I'm now in to Norwegian language and I really like it. Is fun learning with you.
Thank You Michelle , You are great teacher and Your lessons are very helpful ! You are so talented and I look forward for Your new videos :) Hadet bra !
Gratulerer med dagen....so good you are back on track.i really enjoy your lessons and currently learning norsk in barcelona,by the way i also love your singing, you have a fantastic voice.martha
AWESOME!!!!I've been messing around with books and tapes and stuff for years, but it's GREAT to have a REAL person, from Na Yawk yet, to teach us!!! I'm gonna learn this! Mange takk! CJensen from Joyzee
My brother lives in Denmark and also a lot of my family. I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina which is based on Balkan. Well ,if you know anything about my country or language you know how difficult it is. Speaking fluent english, german and french currently, but I deacided that I want to know more. I am planning to move on university in Drammen,Norway. Literally I am killing myself by learning this one, but dont think you are bad teacher. In fact ,you are amazing. I almost died laughing at the end when you said that Danish people speak like they have potato in mouth. So lol and so true. No metter, just came to say thanks on helping. People can learn a lot of things here. Greetings from rainy Sarajevo 🇧🇦. xoxo.
The rule for i/på is the same as in/on. For example you can't live in an island. It has to be on an island (på en øy). The only exceptions for this is when there is an location where it has been tradition to say on/på or smaller places indicating an area within a larger area. For example Majorstua in Oslo.
I hope you post more videos!! My bestevenn is Norwegian and you're videos really help! I hope someday with your help I can have a full conversation with her! Tusen takk! :)
Hi Michelle, thank you very much. I am learning Norwegian and English at the same time, and I combine with my mother language Persian. Since I live in Germany I can kombienieren with German too. it's cool. This is the most pleasantest form two learn foreign languages at the same time from a beautiful girl. it's cool. Thank you
I really like your lessons and thank you for sharing this with us in such a funny way. I start with learning norwegian while finising University and my boyfriend and I have a plan to move to Norway and start living and working there. Jeg bor i Belgrade, Serbia. 😀 Big kiss
We need more lessons! :) Imagine that you may have given many many people a start for learning a whole new language. That is dope ass shit. It's like you have created few norwegians on earth... You are good.
i started to learn novegian language,,,thank you very very much...whis you is so easy to learn.....thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful lessons Michelle. Wow do you have a beautiful singing voice. Do you sing for a living? I will be visiting Oslo for the May 17, 2014 celebrations. I am very excited to participate. Will you be performing anywhere that I can buy tickets too?
Yeah, these mainly remain in Icelandic, and probably other small languages, Þ is the letter "Thorn" and it's pronounced like the english "th" like in, ironically, "thorn." "ð" is the letter "Eth" and I don't know much about it :P
While I was waiting fourth lesson I've managed to self-study first level of Norwegian via På vei norskkurs... God job anyway :) Keep inspiring all of us :) ..og ha en god grunnlovsdag!
Hi! Im enjoying to listened and learned fro your videos. Pls. Post more videos. I need badly to learn norwegian language because i'll be Aupair in Bergen soon. In Bergen they have the same dialect like what you teached? Looking forward to hear from you again. Thanks Michelle :) Sarah from Philippines!
Could you please make lesson 5!!! My mos norwegian and I speak and understand but my grammar is terrible and your lessons have helped so much! Please make lesson 5!!!
Perhaps the Norwegians hate Swedish beer. What a way to show their disapproval of the union during the 19th century than to equate Swedish beer to fecal matter! Another great lesson!
Just mentiont you channel.. I got a norwegian girlfriend... and your videos are really helping... great to see those!. And good that you got the lines to..
You sing so beautifully! My parents were from Norway, but unfortunately, they were told not to teach me the language because it would confuse me. So, I'm hoping you can teach me. Tak!
Could you make a video of tips for understanding different accents/dialects? :) Because I can understand people from Oslo just fine, but then when someone is from like Bergen or somewhere else I have a bit of trouble. Your videos are great btw! Keep it up! :)
There is no real way to do, that is the problem, i speak like Michelle do. but I can understand most of them. you just have to learn them or most of them, but there is some dominant twist with dialects. like western northern southern and eastern. once you undersand those you will undersand most of them. you just have to be listening alot to it. you my also learn Nynorsk. that is a mix of most dialects, (long historical story) Hope this helped.
So I wasn’t having any trouble with th en/et etc business, however I must admit that it would have been useful if you had mentioned that they correspond to masculin/féminin/neutral the first time around. I understood that different words used the either et or en or whatever, but had no idea that it was exactly like with french or German etc... I am glad you brought it up this time though! I just thought used different words for nouns just for fun!!
Damn woman! you can SING!.... I live in Iceland and I got some Norwegian friends that I have known for 5-6 years now, I did visit them @ Slottsfjell music festival 2017 and had a BLAST and I said I would learn some basic Norwegian before I visit them next year :D so I am taking all your lessons with heart and soul to atleast get some knowledge :P thanks! ^.^
I know you haven't been on in a while but I recently made a friend in Norway and I wanted to exchange some gifts between countries. What are some things we have in the us that they don't in Norway?
If it's 17 May you wave a Norwegian flag . . I am English but waved my Norwegian flag in Bodø and had a lot of fun . . like when I met some girls with a sign saying 'Grattis klem' . . luckily I knew what they meant :)
