Bowler makes the finest customer-spec rally raid machines - its EXR is a stunning competition machine. But now they're making a street version. With 550hp.
I'm so happy bowler and land rover have finally joined forces, their combination will only lead to bigger, faster, and more beautiful cars. Did I mention this episode was amazing; as usual, wonderful job chris harris.
I live a mile away from the tiny farmyard that makes these Bowlers, I get to see them being towed around and sometimes stick my face over the stone wall and peer through. Such a priviledge to watch them! Amazing machine.
Chris you just made my time before work really good, love seeing you beat on cars a bit like they were intended to be :D Bowler looks really great, US legal?
I heard about this vehicle two weeks ago, and like another commenter stated, owning one is now a mission in my life. That might be difficult in the US. That, and the fact that costs close to 4x my annual salary. Thank you. Thank you, Drive, for posting this. Made my day.
What a great piece of kit, and as usual what fantastic vehicle control from Mr Harris. Having watched this video quite a few times it's still very impressive. When the lottery win comes in it's definitely on the shopping list.
Harris is such an eminently watchable reviewer. I love all of these little films. They are quite superb. He makes such a point of being informative and a genuine enthusiast without appearing fake or even boring or trainspotterish. Excellent stuff. On the subject of the Bowler, is this an evolution of the Nemesis?
It's sad to think about but Clarkson sold the Template of Top Gear to the BBC for £8m, so none of what you saw in the BBC series can be used with out risking law suits. So Top Gear as we knew it is dead........Cheers Clarkson
For the true OGs ***Forza Motorsports*** back when a racing sim/arcade was actually about racing.. Im still playing Forza Motorsports 6 but plan on buying Forza Motorsports 7 when I find a good deal on an unopened copy. I just can't take these newer Forzas seriously anymore.
Another fantastic video Chris, Bowler design and build some of the best off road performance vehicles in the world. That car is a weapon!! And hello Mr Cobley - I must call in and see you! Jezza from Land Rover Experience
If you've ever been of road in a bowler or QT (who now build the tomcat and wildcat) you'd understand. I passengered in a tomcat in a cross country vehicle trial, that grin stays for days
I saw one of these things on the road the other day, i heard it first, it sounds amazing, looks amazing, if i ever won a large amount of money, this would be a first purchase.
Haha I probably shouldn't share this... but I was feeling very depressed.. Didn't care if I died, so I went onto a secluded road, and drove my 1995 Suburban so fast around some corners that I had some oversteer.. No one besides was in danger but myself. And I suffered no injuries.
Qt bought the license to the wildcat and tomcat from bowler when they moved on to the EXR (the nemesis) they're alot cheaper and god are they fun to be in
Secret location is the same place Alain de Cadenet filmed large portions of Victory by Design, I recognize some of those shots! It was an Earl's estate IIRC.
Can you imagine taking that to the local track for an open track day. I can just imagine drifting by gt3's and z06's on the outside of turns. I want one!
Oh the madness. June seems to be the month filled with all the insane cars of the world. First there was the Volvo S60 Polestar (eats M3s for breakfast) and now this!? :D
juke r, 485bhp, 1850kg dry bowler 550bhp, 1730kg dry the juke r is much, much slower and before we discuss that the bolwer can cope with 10000kg on it's roof without sustaining damage and be dropped nose first into the desert from over 40 feet high and be driven away, we should probably bare in mind that the juke r would struggle with a speedbump, let alone 50+ feet jumps. Thanks for your input anyway
Nevermind that a lot stock (just bought one and took it racing) SVT Raptor won the Dakar Rally production vehicle segment, OP2, in 2011. The Raptor is a "modded" truck, all it needs is a rollcage in the cab. You must be thinking of a standard F-150. But is it basically a buggy like the Bowler EXR-S? No. It is still a truck. But then what were you looking for for about $50K USD and opposed to about 200K USD for the Bowler?
It's a sequential gearbox, it's used in racecars, its basically a faster gearbox than a manual, but its still manually activated. There are many types, some require the clutch only for downshifts and can deal with not lifting the gas nor actuating on the clutch pedal on the up shifts. Some need clutch for every gearchange... depends on the FIA specifications at wich you race the car youll have to fit one type or another.... a great brand is SADEV but there are many others...
Just what did he do at 4:04 ?! That was simply breathtaking ! Hats off, Chris.
I'm so happy bowler and land rover have finally joined forces, their combination will only lead to bigger, faster, and more beautiful cars. Did I mention this episode was amazing; as usual, wonderful job chris harris.
i love and absolutely respect when companies build vehicles like this!
I live a mile away from the tiny farmyard that makes these Bowlers, I get to see them being towed around and sometimes stick my face over the stone wall and peer through. Such a priviledge to watch them! Amazing machine.
Looks fun but for 155 grand i'd want galvanized bolts etc not shit that is rusting already when you look at shots of it underneath
Exactly my thoughts. No carbon fiber, stainless steel, titanium or aluminum let alone anything galvanized.
"Sir, this property comes with a large garden"
"Dafuq im I gonna do with a large garden-. Grow prunes?"
"There's a race track in it."
"WE'LL TAKE IT"
😂😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
"oh, there's a pheasant.. he's going to get it!" haha!!
Best subjects, best delivery, best camerawork, best presentor, best car show on UA-cam.
Chris you just made my time before work really good, love seeing you beat on cars a bit like they were intended to be :D Bowler looks really great, US legal?

This is my favorite vehicle in Forza Horizon 3!
@@FFM0594 Hahaha yes, but we don't call them ranches.
What a great piece of kit, and as usual what fantastic vehicle control from Mr Harris. Having watched this video quite a few times it's still very impressive. When the lottery win comes in it's definitely on the shopping list.
The venue looks like where they filmed victory by design.

6:30 this guy is a great driver

Thanks for your content;you and Neil are THE BEST.
"Oh there's a pheasant, he's gonna get it!!"
LOL
the way this guy explains how a car feels and how it turns in and grips on corners is just gold ... hes the perfect host for something like this
chris harris would be a good substitute for clarkson i think
+David Vega yeah sure
+David Vega ^ this comment is hilarious in hindsight.
but its ok, the three musketeers live on.... Amazon.
+Wiryan Tirtarahardja No Stig :( (he stays with Top Gear)
K2edg
*later during the show*
"... he's the Stig's copyrighted cousin!"
It's sad to think about but Clarkson sold the Template of Top Gear to the BBC for £8m, so none of what you saw in the BBC series can be used with out risking law suits. So Top Gear as we knew it is dead........Cheers Clarkson
Couldn't stop smiling watching Harris hustling the Bowler, great stuff!
1.7 tons with full oversteer?. sound like lighter version of m5
I cannot describe how much I love the sound of a sequential gear box.
Can I buy it? I only have $3 right now, but I can make $3 payments once in awhile.
Haha you're probably closer then I am to getting this thing
Keep saving dude. One day you will have enough to get anything. Head up high.
Chris you have the best show on cars today!!!
looks like a range rover in many ways (that's a good thing).
thats because it is a range rover friend. Bowler is to Land Rover as Alpine is to BMW
De Juan Graham cool. i learn something new everyday (not in a sarcastic way) !
De Juan Graham AlpinA
Reid Maulsby hehe thanks mate
De Juan Graham or as RUF is to Porsche
Chris Harris sure knows how to review cars. He makes me want to have cars i never looked at twice before.
Hat it when people say "Bow-ler" it's "Bowl-er"
British people say many things differently, mind you.
iikingthunder I hate when people don't know basic vocabulary.
Chris Harris's videos are always good
Range Rover sport svr is better or the bowler
+Adnan Adnan dacia duster is the best
+ghd67ik2887218 Suzuki Jimny!
Yep, I love this channel. I never get bored with the video and click it off!
FORZA HORIZON 2
99destroyer11 Dirt 2 bitch

Another fantastic video Chris, Bowler design and build some of the best off road performance vehicles in the world. That car is a weapon!!
And hello Mr Cobley - I must call in and see you! Jezza from Land Rover Experience
If Chris is excited like a 5 year old kid then you just know its an awesome thing to drive , great vid :)
If you've ever been of road in a bowler or QT (who now build the tomcat and wildcat) you'd understand. I passengered in a tomcat in a cross country vehicle trial, that grin stays for days
As always Mr. Harris, excellent video.
Want that shirt! And again, the best video of the week is done :) KEEP ON, CHRIS!!!
I am a 6"5 German but unfortunately it wasn't me who sat in there before you did. Amazing car. Clearly.
Love Bowler, companies who race their products are always #1 in my book.
I saw one of these things on the road the other day, i heard it first, it sounds amazing, looks amazing, if i ever won a large amount of money, this would be a first purchase.
This channel is getting really good.
Now this is how a sport SUV should be like : A BEAST !
very good review and fair play...chris harris needs his own channel
+kyle wisdom he has :)
There are ways to let us viewers "feel" a car ... and NOBODY does that better then Chris!
Is it possible to get the Bowler treatment for a Rolls Royce Cullinan?
Haha I probably shouldn't share this... but I was feeling very depressed.. Didn't care if I died, so I went onto a secluded road, and drove my 1995 Suburban so fast around some corners that I had some oversteer.. No one besides was in danger but myself. And I suffered no injuries.
Try harder next time. I miss my suburban.
What do you mean try harder? And yeah. It's quite the nifty car.
Andrew Dzierson bro i think u killed him
Looks like a badass Land Rover, and so much fun!
best motoring journalist around i think,
Thats a racetrack in someonce back garden... What a thing to have! Very very impressive.
Those Bowlers are fn sick... so awesome.
Nice work as always Chris :) awesome machine!
Chris delivers again.
I wish they weren't so expensive. High speed off road SUV? This vehicle is a monster.
Qt bought the license to the wildcat and tomcat from bowler when they moved on to the EXR (the nemesis) they're alot cheaper and god are they fun to be in
Stunning. Heavy, but incredibly interesting and exciting.
Excellent! Love it! Great English vehicle! And that guy can drive too !!! Very nice! Ohh to win the lotto!! Best wishes all! 😂👍🏽👍🏽
What a great video, Chris! It was great meeting you guys.
The clip is just a bit too short ;-)
Owning that road/garden is now my main Life Goal
What a car, really like the Range Rover Sport style of the EXR-S!!!
5:33 wow Chris is a god with that thing, it's a left turn but Chris goes right without crashing!
Those old Legends of Motorsport with Alex DeCabrinae or however you spell it were shot on this road. Loved those shows, great road.
Nice one Chris! Loved the show, Land Rover Bower really looks promising...
Secret location is the same place Alain de Cadenet filmed large portions of Victory by Design, I recognize some of those shots! It was an Earl's estate IIRC.
Chris Harris is the best. Hands down, no arguments, nuff said.
You, sir, are a stud!
Legendary
Can you imagine taking that to the local track for an open track day. I can just imagine drifting by gt3's and z06's on the outside of turns. I want one!
Oh the madness. June seems to be the month filled with all the insane cars of the world. First there was the Volvo S60 Polestar (eats M3s for breakfast) and now this!? :D
Great report...Love it
I came here to say this and it looks like you already took care of it for me.
you guys need to do more first-person shots!! those are great!
Exactly what I thought when viewing those straightaway shots! Was half expecting Alain to have his thumb out, asking for a lift....
Chris Harris for Top Gear Host!
Chris is best when he really loves a vehicle.
juke r, 485bhp, 1850kg dry
bowler 550bhp, 1730kg dry
the juke r is much, much slower

Scandinavian flick, just like Richard Hammond in Top Gear. :DD The best thing ever.
Chris Harris video = Yay!
At 2:21 where the yellow Bowler speeding thru that stretch of road is where I remember that camera shot with a yellow Ferrari 330 P3.
whatever Chris Harris reviews it turns out to be brilliant
great video!!
That was over far too quickly. Brilliant video as always!
I guess its personal preference
I think this looks beast!
Wow! I would love to have this in my garage.
Brilliant as usual Chris. One question.. did you happen to mention what "growler" means in British colloquial English? No? Thought not..
correct me if i'm wrong but i thought it was called the bowler nemesis?
Keep it coming Chris, bonkers is good.
the bowler vs the F-150 raptor! Thats an epic battle.
Owning a Bowler EXR-S is now my main Life Goal
Love the Bowler. Probably one of the best SUVs out there. Sort of off-topic: Glad they're adding it to Forza Horizon in the April Top Gear pack!
Best show on drive!
8:33, a wild photographer spotted!
What kind of transmission is the red one?
It's a sequential gearbox, it's used in racecars, its basically a faster gearbox than a manual, but its still manually activated. There's already a street version of the exr that dates back to 2010. Top Gear reviewed it in a special DVD called "Apocalypse"
aside from the weight difference, wouldn't the X5M and Cayenne Turbo S be somewhat similar to the road going EXR-S?
I really really need your job, Chris!
isnt this where that jaguar special was filmed?
Does it have low range and locking diffs for the slower stuff?
