I've always loved the touch of more and more people gradually stopping to watch what is happening as "Take Me Home" gradually increases in volume. Stunned that a man is burning millions in a public space.

The whole visual starting at about 9:15 is weirdly beautiful, the crowd of people gathered around the pile of burning money with the city skyline rising in the background… plus the way it cuts between the money turning to ash, the bank officer’s horrified expression, the bystanders filming with their phones… I keep watching it over and over because it’s captivating, actually.
I thought he was going to end up giving the money to the random people in the square, but instead he burned the money. I realized it wasn’t about the wealth, it was about destroying the idea of wealth.
The song in the background, starting off quiet and building up, somehow makes this intense scene make me feel comfortable, almost like a Win for the little guy!
i finally finished this series last night. quite possibly the greatest piece of media i've ever consumed. and the fact that the ending re-contextualizes the entire show is just beautiful. there will never be anything else quite like Mr. Robot. getting my blu-ray of the whole series as soon as i can.

not gonna lie, until the last few episodes of season 1 i had to force myself to watch it. once i saw the twist i finished the other 3 seasons in 2 days. im rewatching season 1 again now right after finishing it, and it is so much better after seeing what happens and what everything really means. absolutely recommend
Masterfully done...."Take Me Home" beginning as a minor sound, as someone with a boombox walks by and then becoming the main sound trigger of the whole scene as the song crascendos, plus 1 World Trade Center perfectly framed.. Amazing scene
I love how this scene actually shows the unintended consequences of the 5/9 hack and part of why Elliott (spoiler) later reverses it. People who are getting thrown out of their homes because the records are missing (and the title still held by E-Corp).
I never felt any episode in this show was just filler, such a good show. Even on rewatches there is so much more to take away from the series. I miss this show.

And I just really don't like it because the person I am similar to and really connected to was not even Elliott. Also, if you have a different opinion and experience about the ending. I'd love to hear your viewpoint and opinions about it. Because I'm always willing to change my mind if someone can give me a different viewpoint about it.

And the whole point of mastermind was to protect Eliot and sides we see the real Eliot in season 2 on the 4th episodes I believe talking to Darlene about a episode he had that he doesn’t remember. But I understand where your coming from I get that because I was able to relate to Eliot but at the end of the day I think we’re all just apart of something just hiding behind a mask not sure when to take it off maybe that’s why we can’t see what’s really going on maybe it’s why we’re afraid to say something when we see something wrong. Striving for normalcy is what it was representing but just as we saw Elliot rediscover parts of his childhood and who he was in a different personality, we see that he in a lot of ways is the same person as the Mastermind / Mr Robot / etc. It’s as complicated as a real person experiencing that mental illness. They all share parts of each other and in a way, aren’t we all kinda like that? Different approaches to different situations on different days and times. Different moods. It took me a while to appreciate the ending but I realized that there is totally pieces of the real Elliot in the show! Prior to the Mastermind personality’s creation, there’s a flashback where Elliot is talking to Darlene before they decide to take on E corp and he is very much like himself in the rest of the show :) I really think the Elliot we see confined in the dream world is exactly that - living some twisted dream and thus his personality there is just another protection device as well.
Here's an idea: If they didn't write any of this on the mask, and gave him the instructions through the call, they would've been able to implicate him as a co-conspirator without giving him any written proof of the instructions.
Yeah, but that's not really the point they were trying to make. The objective was to create a huge spectacle in order to bring more public awareness to the bank's shadiness. Also, that would fly directly in the face of their overall purpose to begin with. Nobody is actually there to hold the banks accountable for screwing over honest, hardworking people. We have laws but they don't work. Making sure that people are doing the right thing is their MO, they've taken it into their own hands because they can achieve justice without involving inept LE.

Elliott as everybody else in this world is a complex system that involves a lot of different aspects within it.. So the "Mastermind" that we have seen for so long is not a different character, he is just a small piece of Elliot complex personality as the Mr Robot is the raging part in him, so imo your/our connection to him is not undermined by that at all, you just discovered that you can't fully connect with a person, as it always happens in the real world.

I believe that the Elliott we see, actually everything we saw was just a television show. Almost like meta acting. There are so many clues they I believe people miss, He speaks directly to you but at the same time he acknowledges that we the audience are many. We are told over and over, I'm not crazy, I must be crazy, is this real, etc it's mental illness but playing another person also must be confusing. We are told none of this is real because it's a TV show, not because we are just a fantasy in his mind. This is just my opinion and I believe there is a lot of evidence to show this but that's the beauty of it. We can each interpret it ourselves and it can have a completely different idea of what happened.
