- This one had SUCH amazing solos! I absolutely can NOT put enough emphasis on how incredible the solos were! They were so good. And the drums on top of that were TOP NOTCH!!! I really enjoyed this album! Such a heavy masterpiece!
Holy F this was crazy. Give this man a medal. I wasnt expecting him to do so well. 💪🤷♂️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Death has 6 more albums. I recommend "The Sound of Perseverance" album next. many tracks have multiple solos because there's 2 lead guitarists 🎸🎸
I plan to check it out in the future!!! 😁🎸💙 Thanks for the suggestion!!!
~Within The Mind~
Transforming your mind from the inside out
Overcoming fear that made you doubt
Observing what is stored in the subconscious
Trusting what you feel with your gut responses
See past the dark and use your energy
Learn from these images
Thoughts that we call dreams
This power lies within the mind
Gain wisdom through abilities
Change what's to come in future time
Avoiding pain and misery
[Solo: Murphy]
Look through the fake from what is real
Making decisions by what you feel
Live for the future and not the past
The weak of mind will never last
Perceiving visions that reoccur
Analyze your dreams to gain
A better perspective of your life
In control of your destiny with mind and soul
See past the dark and use your energy
Learn from these images
Thoughts that we call dreams
This power lies within the mind
Gain wisdom through abilities
Change what's to come in future time
Avoiding pain and misery
[Solo: Shuldiner]
For a Band called Death this is a positive message. Self reflect, use life experience to make better decisions to grow and avoid pain and misery.
Thank You for the Song play... So fun seeing someone discover a new sound and POPPING their G-String on the second song 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's actually such a profound and well-written message. As someone that thinks lyrics are super important, this is actually super insightful and touching. Surprising coming from Death if you just listen to the music. 🤣 I love the concept of visualizing your dreams and learning from them and learning you have the strength inside to push forward and move on with your life. Really awesome lyrical structure!!!
I agree, lyrics are the substance of a song. I’m not a fan of the first 2 albums as they are more gore and horror. This album was the mark to great lyrics on into more socially aware topics
1. “Living Monstrosity" - basically an anti drug song
2. "Altering the Future" - Abortion and the complex matter of taking or preserving life
3. "Defensive Personalities"- mental illness Multiple Personality Disorder
4. "Within the Mind" - already talked about it
5. "Spiritual Healing" -encourages listeners to reflect on their own lives and seek higher truths
6. "Low Life" - self explanatory
7. "Genetic Reconstruction" - sounded like you got it. Dangers of using tech to alter mankind and taking away the individual/ what makes us human
8. "Killing Spree" - the psychology of an individual who has been pushed to the brink. The fragile nature of sanity.
You sir, are Crazy Awesome. CRAZY to play the whole album and AWESOME to play Death🤘. I watch the whole video and think you did freaking great!
This band is the only band I listen with this style of vocals... I'm not really a fan of the growl but it fits perfect in Death.
I am amazed Rocksmith had this album, but then its a classic highly ranked 9/10 metal album.
Dude, that was so fun to watch!
BTW Rocky George was the Guitarist from Suicidal Tendencies.
The next album HUMAN is way more technical, massive guitar solos. The next two albums after "Individual Thought Patterns & Symbolic" progress to a high energy melodic technical transitioning masterpiece of sound you wouldn't recognize from Spiritual Healing. Its so progressive in this genre in every instrument including the drumming which showcases (my favorite drummer) Gene Hoglan AKA "The Atomic Clock". < UA-cam "Gene Hoglan Plays Death Track 'The Philosopher" will blow your mind.... he drums with boots! How metal is that!
Then 'The Sound of Perseverance' is unrecognizable...... they went into the twilight zone of progressive Death Metal (hate the vocals) but they just decided to show off how good they are.
You have no idea how much that means to me!!! The fact you watched the ENTIRE video not only really helps my channel.... but I'm so happy you watched the whole video!! Thank you so much!
Ooooohhhh that's interesting to know!! Honestly I think you're totally right. I'm generally not a fan in this particular style of vocals, but I do think it fits pretty well in Death. Honestly that was about the only thing holding it back from a 10/10 metal album in my opinion, just preference ya know?
Glad you had fun!! And that's nice to know
Oooooo wow!!! I might just have to check that out!! I love progressive and technical pieces of music so much and I'd absolutely LOVE listening to it! Thanks for the long explanation! By the way..... I may post some more of my original songs on this channel 👀 and again, thanks for the really nice comment and request!
I don’t know if I mentioned this but dude!!!! you freakin did awesome!!!! Ya nailed “within the mind” solo and crushed “Killing Spree” You never listened to Death and It sounds like you’re a fan. I can’t wait for you to listen to Symbolic …."Without Judgement" You’ll geek out on this song.
BTW Chuck Schuldiner is a self taught guitarist.
@@South-of-Heaven Self taught?? Really??? Dang. Looks like I need to step up my game 🤣🤣🤣 OMG THANK YOU!!!! So nice of you!!!!..... the question is should I play through that full album as well...... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Oh shit, you played through this one??? Would LOVE to see you play through an album like Human or Symbolic from these guys!
Edit: Scratch that, you already did Human! :P I'll swap that out with The Sound of Perseverance then, it's my absolute favorite album from them.
I did!!! I definitely gotta play through the rest at somepoint!!!
@@CrazyAwesome I highly suggest to continue to go in order of their discography. The progression of sounds and technicality from Spiritual to Perseverance is an amazing journey.
* BTW I didn’t request the first 2 Death albums because it’s very raw and not something I think you would have enjoyed. Personally Spiritually Healing is a great introduction to Death IMHO.
