@@AndyDandanFisherSteam Yes Andy I would like to see you both doing an introduction. Any details about the locomotives and rolling stock, what is running and why. Take care stay safe.
The spoken intro is perfect for me. The audio can do with some work…….which I think you knew. The two of you saying where, why and what you expect is top notch for me. Seeing a loco with no context just does not give the full picture words, where, why and whats expected is the full thing. I hope it’s the same for many. Amacf
In this particular case it's a lot cheaper to turn the whole train on this triangle than to turn the locomotives on the turntable at York - so the diesel was just used for the first part of the turning - Andy
It depends on which company is operating the train - some do and some don't. It also depends on what coaching stock is being used. Most of the steam locos can't operate air brakes (only vacuum brakes) so need a diesel to operate the brakes - and sometimes the heating too. The diesel also saves a lot of shunting at the start and end of the journey. As you can see in this video, often the diesel takes the train in reverse when turning or moving into sidings - Andy
Great video! I saw her departing London Kings Cross.
Thank you - Andy
Nice to see you both at the beginning of the video.
Was it really "nice"? 🤔 - Andy
@@AndyDandanFisherSteam was it not nice ? Not sure I understand your reply.
@@johnsawyer2516 Was it really nice to see us both at the beginning? I'm not sure whether to include an intro each time or not - A

Great intro explains what and why. Then good stuff afterwards 👍
Thanks. What's your opinion on spoken intros like that? - Andy

Nice Footage there Andy. I was out for that run
Got it at 4 different locations as well.
Well done. It won't be so easy with SNG next week - Andy
@@AndyDandanFisherSteam I agree on that
At 9:52 was the diesel used because the steam engine was not working?

That worked out well Andy. Nice coverage from good locations. Bring on SNG (although that is a 'Streak' )
Thanks for your help Tom - A
How often is it necessary for the diesel to actually be used?

I can see you Andy talking to your Mrs about the train that’s coming here
