ABOUT BROOKLYN NINE-NINE
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" follows the exploits of hilarious Det. Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and his stoically ever-professional captain, Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher), along with their diverse, lovable colleagues as they police the NYPD's 99th Precinct. In this final season of the series, Jake and the squad must try to balance their personal lives and their professional lives over the course of a very difficult year.
Rounding out the ensemble is Sgt. Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumera), who has a passion for organization and a weakness for dork dancing; Lt. Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews), a mountain of a man whose most powerful muscle is his sweetheart; Jake's best friend and human puppy dog, Det. Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio); and the incredibly secretive, tough-as-nails Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz). Also part of the Nine-Nine are veteran officers Det. Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller) and Det. Hitchcock (Dirk Blocker), whose only skill as police officers is their ability to make a passable pot of coffee.
Created by Emmy Award-winning writer/producers Dan Goor and Michael Schur, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" won the 2014 Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical (Samberg). Emmy winner Braugher earned four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Capt. Holt.

When Scully calls Jake “Jakey,” it hits me right in the feels.
Honestly, Scully feels more like a sweet but awkward old man. It's Hitchcock that creeps me out tbh.
He’s a sweet guy whose biggest crimes are being lazy and oblivious, whereas Hitchcock is more like an actual creep. If he had a best friend who could help him instead of enabling him he could maybe be more useful. They’re like a funhouse future mirror of what the codependent relationship of Jake and Charles could become.
They're partners for a reason. They've come a long way
It was WingSlutz that ruined it for them. Hitchcock wasn't always a creep either -the two of them were once New York's finest and that's why Hitchcock has the arrest record at the 99. I think the way he let himself go after he and Scully got hooked on WingSlutz is what caused him to become insecure and then increasingly overcopensate to the point it became creepy.
Hitchcock is probably depressed and calling out for attention .
@@LaMortDeLaMusique the case that made them rockstars on the force also brought them down. you either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain. i believe that is why most of the 99 as we love it moved on to other things in the end. it was a bittersweet ending but one that makes sense..
In one episode they made it known that they did their thing between the 80s-90s era ( i think it was 70s-80s) but now they just want to relax. They had their moments but now they leave it to the new generation of detectives. There was a few times that they surprised everyone with how smart they were at solving crimes too, it’s like being stupid amd carefree are just fronts they put on to slack off lol.
i still love that die hard christmas episode where, at the start of the ep, you can see in the background scully had prepared christmas cards for all the detectives. when terry tells everyone to not disturb him during christmas dinner, scully hands him his card 😂

@@silverhand.johnny They do know how lol. Remember when Boyle gave up on them on that "parrot case"? They solved very efficiently, however they said that they're old and tired, so they let the young ones shine while they do desk jobs.

A prequel miniseries about them would be awesome!

I love how these guys went from funny comedy relief once or twice every episode to main cast members. Their backstory and development as characters over the seasons is great. They fit perfectly in the show and I love it

It missed the 2 best moments. When he danced with Amy on the "The Date", and then danced alone after she left. Also, when he said "He doesn't care what anyone thinks about him" Both super great.
The dancing scene is *SO* wholesome, especially on rewatch
