I think debbie turning out to be a secret martial arts and fighting badass was the single most annoying thing this show ever did. I **HATE** every episode she is in, feels like she is some writers self insert. A dorky and geeky girl that no one really thinks much up, but basically owns everyone at the end and is so badass and tough they HAVE to convince her to flip, otherwise the 99 will lose. So stupid.

They wanted the fellow SNL actress to come on to B99 for a couple of episodes. They needed her to be important enough to the plot to have it centred around her but they also needed an excuse to have her leave so they wouldn't be obligated to bring her back. This is what they chose. They were so empathetic of the character because they wanted to treat the special guest as special. Sometimes writing descrencies can be explained by writer's motivation as opposed to moral or plot.
One of the problems is that we glorify cops on screen. Their either squeeky clean heroes or the occasional bad seed who gets what they deserve because every one else is an angel who'll stand up to them in a heart beat
