Wilt Chamberlain touched 13'3 with the globetrotters. This is documented in 1958 Look Magazine. That would give him a 45 inch vert which is probably the most I would give him. In another quote Wilt said at Kansas he could dunk on. a12 foot rim with effort. I believe Wilt had 40-45 inch vert, 13'3 is the highest I have ever heard of and this 6'10 jumping bean just equaled it

The only person I ever heard of reaching 13'3" is Wilt, who had his standing reach measured at 9'6" (with chuck taylors) and his max reach being measured at 13'3" , so he had a 45" vert, and if you don't belive it I have a couple newspaper artilces from 58 and 60 that quote NBA officials measuring his vert at 45". If this kid has a standing reach of 9'3" he has to be very close to 7' barefoot with a nearly 7'6 wingspan, so amazing athleticism for someone so long, and as you said increible standing vert for someone so thin

Wilt probably had a 40" vert maybe 41" for his best jump ever. The evidence I found for this is a photo of him blocking a shot for Kansas with his head at rim level, but his body is angled, neck bent way back, and arms up in the air or out to the side. Doing the math for accounting for these factors should be around 40" for a 12'10" or 12'11" touch. Doug Thomas could touch 13' James White could probably touch 13'. Kao 13'3" is legit, he has the WR for measured touch. Now I have to think there's a good chance true freak has touched higher, such as Manute Bol's grandfather at 7'11".

Kao 13'3" is legit and is certainly the record for any measurement. However, there's a good chance at some point in human history an absolute freak has touched higher. Enter Manute Bol's Grandfather, standing 7'10". Assuming the same standing reach to height ratio as Manute Bol, a fantastic 1.38, his standing reach would have been 10'10". Now Wilt at 7'1" could jump 40-41" Ralph Sampson at 7'4" could jump 36", if Bol Chol could jump 30" he could touch 13'4". If not Bol Chol then maybe some other member of the Dinka tribe that was over 7'6" there's a been a lot throughout human history.

I've been on a quest to find someone that can ACTUALLY touch 13'. This guy might be able to do it. The video angle is bad.

I notice it’s all straight square stance with this guy. Obviously he’s already a freak, but do you think working on the turn stance a bit would help him carry speed in better?

Yes, but if the vert is 47 I wouldn’t mess with it. Even making the right correction sometimes works against athletes since they have so many reps with their natural style.

It says that top of the pro backboard is 13 feet. So this is not more than 13 feet.

How can I increase my running vert? I have a 33” standing but my approach is the exact same so I got that nick young syndrome lol. Right now I can just get the ball over the rim for a dunk but if my running vert was 9” higher than my standing like some of these guys I would be booming on people

Around 2:30, consider the camera angle. He isn’t lying about anything. Why do people feel the need to call everyone out on their bluff? Dude just did his tests and wrote the numbers down. Everyone has to act like there is some type of angle or cheat lol. How about the guy can just fly?!? Not everyone has to be a substance abuser or cheater.

To prove the reach is legit, all he needs to do is have someone with a tape measure - measure the top of the backboard as 13ft, and put a foam roller on the top of the backboard (like pro dunkers do on the top of the rim, and then they jump and knock the roller off the top of the rim with their head to show their head is higher than the rim), and have him run, jump, and with the 13'3" reach, he's got 3 inches to easily knock the foam roller off the top of the backboard. If he does that - then I'll know it's legit. Until then - it's still questionable

UTA is University of Texas at Arlington - a daughter of University of Texas in Austin - this is a less known college because they got rid of College Football in the early 2000's.
I went there for engineering which they're more known for. Crazy to see talent like this coming from the same university I just left a couple years ago!
