I still come back to this video, this might have been the best year for WGI ever
That last Rhythm X part where they just slowly bring their heads up then back down sends shivers down my spine. Amazing year for them!
Mad props to Chino Hills.
And to Infinity. Go Perry. Bass 17.
That last Rhythm X ending always gives me goosebumps. Holy crap I can't wait for my high schools season
God Rhythm X's first impact moment just sends shivers down your spine!!!
I love how it's an impact but still a feel good moment
Touch. Man gotta love that show. I just can't get over how powerful that show was. Where can I find the WGI Finals video of that show?
The best of 2009:
Tenor feature-RCC
Snare feature-Chino Hills HS
Bass feature-Infinity
Visual moment-RCC (After Snare feature)
Still watching this in 2020
Same here!
I'm surprised the TCI snare break didn't make this vid. Most innovative snare break in a long, long time.
RCC. oh my god, by far the best quads ever there. scott nelson, some dude, Jeremy Somers, brandon zackey, and nick arce. damn!!!
Great catch on that
Pretty awesome. So it's like a Drum and Bugle Corps, without the the Bugles on a smaller stage, in the winter. Sweet!
That Rhythm X closer is just a straight raw dog
great job with this
these must be pretty big high schools to have that many kids dedicated enough to become that good at their instruments my god.
:D Thanks!
the caption at the end. omg i'm dying.
The school or independent group signs up for a show or championships depending on money at hand. My school just did our first regional this year.
i cant stop watching the part at 4:05.... its so smooth, probably the most bad ass part of that guys life
drumline is so cool!
dude i wish i saw this show.
if its this crazy on video then it must be amazing live
Those are the cleanest claps in the history of crowd 2 and 4 clapping. haha... you know you have an audience of percussionists when...
that was so good it made me spit out my gum
@grf0492 yes that is true. thank you for helping me see the other side of things, i am still new to this activity
hehehe, it was cool to see motivate, thats what are high school is doing this year, fun show! btw, do you think you could post some of the whole performances on youtube, I would love to see them.
Yeah, just search Matt Bowers ESPN and there was a special about DCI on ESPN and he was like the main focus for around 5 minutes of the show. He marched The Cadets when the video was taken, haha.
hey, what was rhythm x's show called? I love that music
THATS SO TIGHT!
RHYTHM X :D
you should make a 2010 one.
I love the HUGE bass run in Infinity at 4:01
What's the name of the song used in Ayala's segment, if anyone knows?
5:16 second snare play from the back...serious fucking hype!! Love it!
@henrygillardlive whered you get the dvd?
rythm x was by far the best show that year.
No this guy is named as Matt Bowers from the Blue Devils ;-)
Yeah...To have a show where pit plays, then drums play, then pit plays then the drums get really loud. Then the pit comes in playing arpeggios with different batter voices doing soli sections...rinse and repeat to end of show.
Dude. 23 Basses. Intense.
I just noticed that guy stumbled little bit at 4:24 before RCC's snare break
redline snares KILLING IT
whats that song in the ayala moment?
where can i find this recording of Rhythm X's performance. All the ones i can find suck.
4:40 Best. Groove. Ever.
very³ Good !
so are you doing one for 2011? i would love it if you did
Yeah man I am aware, but the crowd was also part of that... I was there, I clapped in the lot and in the show haha.
Rhythm X's battery entrance is my favorite part ... anyone agree?
Best show of all time to this day.
I can't agree more. The audience would always freak.
Yup, yup!
I like this, please make one this year (make sure you check out River Valley Percussion Theatre [RVPT] and maybe you can put them in **wink wink nudge nudge**
are dynasty snare drums high tension?
Chine '09 and '10 snare features are like, identical.
xfactormunky....4:05 is the part where the digital voice starts talking after infinity's bomb bass intro....what are you talking about?...
the rhythm x stick toss
anyone got the music for 1:51 RCC tenor break?
please do one for 2011~
me either.
I think maybe 20 more, and they maybe set.
You can see me in the background for a very brief second at 5:22. Front row, red hat. :P
Where did you get Rhythm X's video?
2:58-3:00-awesome! Go cyms! They're so into it!
@henrygillardlive I think he means the second tenor break
Definitely 2009. That closer quad break alone is one of the choppiest quad passages I've seen in the last decade.
anyone wanna tell me how Center Grove went from 2nd place in 2009 to last place in 2010?
@MrPurpleBean
"End of the Road" by Boyz 2 Men
was Pariah on there?? if so, wat did u think of their show???
the intensity from RCC in person was redic
more please
damn... I need to clean myself up now...
can someone tell me how you get into wgi
aww the girl snare at 3:28 missed the part or just doesnt play it?
End of the Road by Boyz 2 Men
Obviously the video is his opinions of the best. If you're unhappy with the results, go apply for a judging position, no one wants to hear what "should have been", it's irrelevant.
3:57 so much bass
WHY NOT!?!?!?!?
@Richey13
Even the high school world lines are sick now. Things have definitely changed the last 10 years!
what the name of the group at 2:00?
2:18 is awesome
3:40
holy crap
Bass Apocalypse
agree
hey any reason why your other account was deleted?
Check out rhthym x's blind tenor player (the only one wearing glasses) at the beginning. It's amazing what humans like him can do with such a disability don't you agree? Like this so everybody can find out about this astounding fact. Truly magnificent and seemless.
What school plays infinity?
@DancingMonkey12 Redline's show was Statues. sorry it was over your head
4:15..... wowwwww
Daaaaammn
interesting style! If anyone wants to expand their view of the drumline world, look up HBCU drumlines. Their style may seem dirty, but it really isn't.
Is that Scott Raynor at 4:50? Doubt it is, just looks like him a little.
how come?
yeah dude.. lol I was there.
uh....... why no 2nd RCC tenor solo????????? that is like my favorite all time indoor bit.
5:17 snare is frekin out
When you have won scholastic worlds 4 times in ten years and repeat twice . You can't help people being envious. That's like how everyone roots against the Patriots. they like to see the best fall.
3:59 That's a lot of bass
You got any bright ideas?
end of the road...boyz II men
I want to have the sheet music from Rhythm X :-(
Scott nelson at 4:50 hahahahaa
obv dartmouth isnt on the video.... but why
5:18 dang Manny. Hype.
How about northcoast's ridiculous Cymbal Split and flipping shenanigans They always have crazy cymbal stuff in their shows.
