Year 2024 here… my first WGI finals was 2008. I have been fortunate to see some incredible lines at the end of that decade. Incredible performers from the front ensembles to the battery. Rhythm X 2009 was a force that still haunts and taunts the lines of today. Still setting the example of what a Drumline should sound, look, and perform like. Thank you Rhythm X.
nahh its a fun experience i played trumpet my 8th grade year and then i went to drumline and played bass 3 my freshman year and now im a sophmore and i play tenors
duh lol its cuz im ordering drums for the high school i teach at and those basses look just right. even tho they are a little smaller than typical outdoor marching drums. i like the way they look
It's different for WGI... but if you're 22 before June 1st of any year, you can't march that year of DCI... if your birthday is after June 1st, you get an "extra year." WGI's rules say you cannot be over 22 on the day of March 31st of any given year... I don't know if that means you can compete as a 23 year old if your birthday is after March 31st or if you can only compete as a 22 year old. I think the limit for WGI is 22, whereas it's 21 for DCI.
who cares why he didn't go back to mcm, he had a spot at x and got a gold medal, im sure he's not upset about it lol this isn't directed toward rreemmzzrruullee, just in general.
hey I know this is going to sound weird now that I'm asking so late, but does anyone know if Matt Bowers had his birthday in the month such that he got the extra WGI year? Cause I just sorta realized that he wason X 09, but not BD.... lol
@mrpainless45 doesnt matter whne you have flat feet. idk about just but i do have flat feet. vans were always more comfortable for my feet. also after about an hour in running shoes i wouldnt be able to stand.. hurt my feet that bad...but everyone is different
I'm definitely jealous. What a sick show... Man, this season was a waste for me. Props for that stick toss, that was nasty! And the Q's triplet roll at 2:17.
@ortizzle55 They are the size we have at Tyler Junior College. but we also have a 32 for marching season. I think the top is 16 then second would be a 20. then bottom is a 30. thats all i have. lol.. Im just a tenor player

I still come back and watch this video. Really changed my game. Thanks for this upload!

This show is one of the most Emotional and Badass shows that i have seen....
They Kicked ass at Championships!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still the best show of all time in my opinion.
I've had this video on my ipod since finals, and I've never noticed that. I feel dumb.
You should feel dumb.
That was absolutely beautiful.
And I LOVE the guitar.
yea, i did wgi out on the west coast last year and he was with rcc. i think that guy in the bd shirt is the blind dude matt bowers
this show is hands down sick as shit. and that stick toss? ballin. see X had some BAMFs on the line this year, props!
gets better every time I watch it
nahh its a fun experience
i played trumpet my 8th grade year
and then i went to drumline and played
bass 3 my freshman year
and now im a sophmore and i play tenors
Thats definitly the most incredible Stick Trick Feature EVER!
I heard one of their tenor players is blind is that true?
Yeah Bowers, was on BD there's a docu on here about him.
Not completely blind lmao but missing a lot of vision
amazing.....absolutely amazing.
they sure do. looks badass. if you watch 2003 malaguena you can see it really well.
I like how she video'd a X on the pavement at the beginning, nice
he is 19 years old and he is the center. he's been marching coats since he was 16
i love how matter-of-factly you responded to this. :)
Ya they did, the surprise ending was awesome.
my new favorite video. just wish you would have gotten the front ensemble too
my favorite part is the beginning when the cymbal player is like doing something to the drumline :D
Thanks Girlsnare08 for Upload this beautiful Video!
I like the guy yelling SPLOOEY! After he says finals.
bass feature was sick
the stick toss is the best part
I hope you make it, you really deserve it :)
It looks like the tenors use Renaissance Emperor heads from remo
duh lol
its cuz im ordering drums for the high school i teach at and those basses look just right. even tho they are a little smaller than typical outdoor marching drums. i like the way they look
my man is marxhing in toms though

details in the fabric by jason mraz i believe. i just made the connection.
heyy i see one of the tenor player from the Blue Devils 09 at 2:47
its not too difficult to figure out if you watch it like bar by bar or in like 3 sec chunks
Because the center isn't how good you its all about how long you have been in the line
I don't know, I didn't really like the atmospere :/ And yeah, I am doing guitar for elements again, lol. Did you make the snareline?
looks like i see a blue devils tenor player and some bluecoats snare players.
isn't the Snare with the blue shirt and hat from the Bluecoats last season?
who cares why he didn't go back to mcm, he had a spot at x and got a gold medal, im sure he's not upset about it lol
this isn't directed toward rreemmzzrruullee, just in general.
I had the guitar spot this year, no joke. I wasn't allowed to do it though :(
hey I know this is going to sound weird now that I'm asking so late, but does anyone know if Matt Bowers had his birthday in the month such that he got the extra WGI year? Cause I just sorta realized that he wason X 09, but not BD.... lol
I find out this weekend at rehearsal. Evidently danch can't decide between me and this one other guy.
haha! like 3 minutes in before they the to snake things where they follow eachother in a line they go "BUTT SEX!!"
WOOOOO! Go X!
This video is fake. It sounds like theres only 1 drum playing the whole time, but theres 30 of them in the video. Fake.
no MCM asked him not to come back
@greenjimmydog a town close to Dayton,OH
that snare player in the red shorts looks really young does anyone know how old he is?
WGI age out is later than DCI.
@mrpainless45 doesnt matter whne you have flat feet. idk about just but i do have flat feet. vans were always more comfortable for my feet. also after about an hour in running shoes i wouldnt be able to stand.. hurt my feet that bad...but everyone is different
yes, dean hickman
@4:50 i was waiting for skrillex to come after that OH MY GOD !!
What are those bass sizes? Bass 1 looks like a 0 bass, but bass 5 looks like a normal 32". Dynasty has weird sizes, though.
yeah i know thats bowers but i thought we were talking about the curly headed guy?
Im sure its 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26"!
oh im not shure man
what kind of shoes are justin lewis wearing in this they look really thin and comfortable for marching
tight. I was really curious about the rules. Thanks
Does anyone know if that beginning guitar intro was taken from details in the fabric my Jason Mraz? It sounds exactly like it.
Really? I always thought it was "Who's next?!"
Ironically they were dirtier than many other lines there. But once again General Effect gave them the gold.... XD
2:19 is so freaking cool.
how much later, and what year does your birthday have to be in to age out 22 instead of 21 for DCI and WGI?
are you sure? then that leaves new york and the other guy i have forgot his name because nick arce marched rcc too
where are you from? always wanted to know where girlsnare was at..
....and this is why i like showbands more
I'm definitely jealous. What a sick show... Man, this season was a waste for me. Props for that stick toss, that was nasty! And the Q's triplet roll at 2:17.
watch drew guy this summer then, he is 3 years younger than justin and he's better.
Does anyone have the music for touch?
did Bass 1march crown for 09?
which of these guys marched 2009 Bluecoats?
yes
i believe he ages out this year....i could be wrong though.
16, 18, 20 24,26
at 1:48, the tenor on the far right looks like michael cera
you and adam would have had so much fun! i was upset when he told me you didnt go back! are you doing elements??
@ortizzle55 They are the size we have at Tyler Junior College. but we also have a 32 for marching season. I think the top is 16 then second would be a 20. then bottom is a 30. thats all i have. lol.. Im just a tenor player
Basically, the opposite, he can only see with his periferals. He's 100% badass. lol
hey, is there anywhere I could buy an mp3 of this song?
What heads do the tenors use?
SEXYEST SHOW EVER!!!!!
when marching top base backwards does toes up, what core is that?
anyone know the sizes of the basses?
but i mean they did pick it from that song? l
or some tenor music?
3:22 haha! i love it!!
He has tunnel vision
RRRRRRHYTHM X! *cue yay*
i was in elements
@girlsnare08 really? those look really thin to be vans
well there are three at 1:47....
ok obviously your from bellbrook unless matt is writting for other groups.. who are you? lol
Who is the center snare?
Tasty.
what did justin Lewis march that year?
Hey I always wondered... do those two always kiss like every rep? Are they like dating or something?
At 3:20 did they yell "Blue Sex?"
@SirRobIV see it's a win/lose because if i would have gotten the front too then you wouldnt see any of the line....or drill.
@ortizzle55 I know the bottom is not a 32 lol..
@EFRproductions you'ree the only one who has noticed lol
I didn't know Michael Cera could play tenors! :o
