Fathers are hiding behind our mothers. My mom is also a single yet married woman. Our mothers would have flourished even more on their own.
Right and I will never get the part where they lie about things they did for us and said was done by our fathers to hide shame
When I graduated , he was furious because I took my mom and late grandmother as my guests. I am like I am taking people that were concerned as to was I okay, did I eat, can I send you more money etc, You never called me, even once all those years to check up on me.. When I went home for holidays, It was my mom who used to pay taxi fares..

Red flags are always there hey God loves us too much to not let us walk blindly, I respect the fact that she acknowledges that she knew before she married him, as women please let us not be desperate to marry just anybody, seek God's intervention before entering marriage with anyone.
I relate so much to her story. I got partly lobola'd shortly after my Honours graduation and boy did I see flames 😂 From being asked to produce bank statements every month, paying 90% of expenses, being isolated from friends & family, started performing badly at work. Getting zero assistance with the kids. I was told how useless I was for seeking therapy after I was diagnosed with moderate depression & anxiety. I almost lost my life twice in the hands of that man. At my first job I would net about R19k monthly and within 5 days I'd be flat broke because the guy would fold his hands while he was earning 10k more than me. I'd pay the car, insurance, nanny, all kids expenses, groceries, electricity. I left with 2 kids and R0.00 in my account, I had to borrow transport money. Today I am single parent, still paying for a car that was written off after he crashed it. All this at only 27yrs old. I'm planning to seek legal advice on the lobola thing cause I don't want this man coming to claim my assets later on once he sees that I'm flourishing.

I might be wrong, but since he has not finished, it should still be null and void.
You have to have proof though.
But he is the one that owes you - crashes the car, doesn't pay maintainance for the kids. In SA is lobola legally binding and is it not about tying the relationship between the 2 families for having children with you
One thing I enjoyed about this interview was that it was structured which made it easy to follow.

I think narcissim needs to be studied further as to why it's more prevalent in men. I was in a relationship with a narcissistic person. Being with such a person can mess up your mind coz you constantly question yourself and start believing the lies they speak to you about you.
It’s because they’ve been socialised through a superiority complex and they are also deeply insecure and jealous of women

This sounds like my story of marrying someone who is emotionally unavailable. I had to foece that man to gi e me a hug, you'll cry alone as if he's not there. You'll never get a compliment even when you've just done your hair and your kids are complimenting you.

It s soothing to listen to her even though I don't relate to her story. i have never married and I'm taking care of my 2 boys and I don't expect any handouts from any one. I'm broke because I take care of my kids alone .I believe that no one owes me anything.

good episode Owami, one critic, please try not interject a lot coz it disturb the rain of thought of the guest. if this lady wasn't well articulative we would have missed a lot of information. shout out to her she's brave to choose herself and love herself again. a lot of women in that position are just waiting for their partners to die, they don't believe they can survive and have peace outside toxic relationship.
