Yes, each new document will need a new setup. This is why I have a guide layout ready to go. I go into my guide layout, copy the guides and paste them into my new document. Set it once and repeat every time you make a new poster!
@@TheDesignSmith ok do you mean that irrespective of the fact that we put in the bleed measurements while we are creating a new document or not (as we do in newer versions of AI) afterwards we should also do a manual bleed setup on top of the program's own bleed setup? P.S. thanks a lot for the prompt reply. Really appreciated.
Absolutely. I don't trust AI's default bleed setup, because different printers may require different bleed setups. The main printer I use does 0.125" on each side, but I have seen others use more or less than that. Doing it myself ensures that I'm using the correct setup every time 😎
if we set up the bleed with measurement while creating a new document, will this manual bleed set up still need to be done separately?

@@homepc-h9h You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Doesnt this work with just using the a3/a4 preset in illustrator?
The presets only give you the predetermined sizes, they don't include setting up margins and bleeds.
