I just finished filling mine up. Love it. Was on order for 2 weeks. I have been waiting for two of the matching 22” side lockers for almost 6 weeks. They said it could be June before I see them.
I’m still going to grab a used tool truck cart off marketplace rather then get a us general cart or box. Sometimes you can get a slide top 3 - 5 drawer Mac cart for $350-500 which is less than the full bank us gen cart
Just because the car uses sae size bolts doesn’t mean you have to use sae bolt extractor. The trick is to use the one that fits tightest (which can be a metric size), and tap it in for the teeth to grab the nut/bolt head. Then use a breaker bar because you’ll end up rounding the bolt extractor (like you did) or the nut/bolt head if you use too much power like the impact driver.
Astro Tools extractor sockets are shaped like that. I have all of Astro’s. Plus they have a combination extractor wrench set that has that same design in the box end. They work!
After the first time I used extractor sockets (2 days of hell) I put them on my passenger side seat and smiled at them everyday for about two weeks commuting two and from work life savers!
If you can't extract a bolt with the extractor sockets. An old trick you can use with a broken fastener. If you have enough area of the broken bolt left to work with. You can weld another nut on top of the stripped or broken bolt. Grab the correct size ratchet or wrench to match the bolt you just welded on your damaged fastener and remove easily. Repeat as necessary. Love your channel guys. I bought the Quinn metric sockets in foam after I saw your video.
Great review. I bought this same Quinn set to remove a 3/8 exhaust stud. Just working with it for 20 minutes it would grab and then begin to slip. I was using a rachet too not impact. The flute was beginning to wear on one stud. I listened to another you tube video that experienced the same situation. I'm returning the set tomorrow and pickup the Pittsburgh while they last. I heard Quinn is taking their place.
I used a cheap set on amazon to back out the one way carriage bolt on security doors and they work good! They did break the teeth so might pick up a quinn set next.
I don't know if you guys watch Project Farms test videos. But he did a video a few years ago testing various bolt extractors like these. One of the best sets he tested that weren't crazy expensive were the Rocket Sockets. I've been wanting a set ever since, sadly I never managed to buy one.
You need a set of metric too bc when bolts rust you don't know what size you need I have both sets and ive never not been able to get a bolt out with these sockets
When you were having trouble with the bolt on the right side I was hoping you guys had a caliper to put on it to see what size it was. Could've been metric or just a severely degraded SAE that is seized. I appreciate the video. I hope Harbor Freight replaced the 2 striped extractors for you.
I have the PITTSBURGH PRO chrome color. They are not vanadium, they are cro-moly. Used one of the smallest sizes, since you tap it in with a hammer I went one mm sizing down so the teeth would bite.
The Pittsburgh pro sets were better sets because the fluted teeth that bite into the fastener are tapered so the further you get it on the bolt or nut the more it bites into it. But I got the amartisan set since they did real well on project farm.
Try grip Edge or gearwrench I'm also disappointed I won't buy that s*** but I either get drip edge or gearwrench can I go wrong with those if you're going to use Pittsburgh I want to see the video to see how it works
They wont work on every bolt you need the metric set too so you can get the socket that fits best.Bolt size means nothing...its rusted beyond its original size.Guaranteed the metric set will have the socket you need.
Pretty much all of the Quinn stuff comes with a lifetime warranty, so that shouldn't be an issue. I wouldn't worry too much about the hardness of the steel, what they use in impact sockets is meant to be a bit softer and more malleable. I cringe when I see people put chrome on an impact tool, which you didn't do but there is a reason they're different.. Beat on it with a hammer, beat on it with an impact and that's not considered abuse because that's what they're made for. It could be that the one you were having so much problem with just needed a metric socket. They certainly look like a step up from my normal approach which is to clamp on vise grips and use a sledge hammer to persuade it loose after soaking the hell out of it with blaster..
I think the Pittsburgh pro ones were better. I got the amartisan set from Amazon because it tested well in a project farm video. But the Pittsburgh pro ones had tapered flutes so the father you got the fastener down the socket the more it would bite the fastener. But the flutes in the Quinn are not tapered. It seems hf is cutting some of its Pittsburgh pro products and replacing them with Quinn: they rebranded their Pittsburgh pro ratchets and torque wrenches as just Pittsburgh and they are phasing out the Pittsburgh pro impact sockets for the Quinn. And the p-pro impacts were way better than the regular Pittsburgh ones. Probably almost as good as the icon. So this switch is kinda worrying Me. Looks like they are cutting costs and reducing quality phasing out better more higher quality products to put a new brand people are thinking they will be better but a lot of Pittsburgh pro products are very high quality for their price and all the p-pro items that have been rebranded as just Pittsburgh and dropped the pro are not as good in quality and function as the previous Pittsburgh pro iteration of the product
The problem is that it’s made from Chrome Molybdenum instead of chrome vanadium, Even their Pittsburgh ones are made from Chrome Molybdenum. I could get way too into the discussion. but the fact of the matter is that this is exactly what’s going to keep in happening to the HarborFreight extractor set, especially with an impact.
I have the Metric set and I'm am of the opinion that the Quinn extractor sockets are total fn garbage!!! Was tryin get trailing arm bolts off a 8th gen civic si and the rounded bolt heads rounded the extractor socket after 2 uses. So bought a set at AutoZone and they worked great on the civic as well as about 2 dozen other bolts! Def a DO NOT BUT!
These are horrible, do not waste your money... I purchased them for a tough project and they are useless especially if you have no room to swing a hammer to wedge the socket on. A 1 out of 10
Harbor freight is killin it. I’m gonna get myself a 56” US General box tomorrow. I’m pumped
That’s great let us know how you like it
We are excited for you! Let us know what you think about it.
I just finished filling mine up. Love it. Was on order for 2 weeks. I have been waiting for two of the matching 22” side lockers for almost 6 weeks. They said it could be June before I see them.
You said brother.. they KILLIN IT!

Just saw you guys, had to sub. Love your content.
Thanks buddy we appreciate you subscribing!
Thanks buddy
Awesome video. Great job
Thanks we appreciate it
Yall crack me up i got to sub... 24:11 when yall were arguing about the price and ended it with "we dont remember " had me rolling
New to the channel love the content me and my boy work on cars together too, and we are big harbor freight customers too love the Quinn tools
Thanks for the support. That is awesome!!!
Thank buddy
Great video
Thanks we appreciate it
Nice. You gotta put an XC battery on the m12 impact for max power. The US made rocket sockets are supposed to be some of the best ones.
Astro Tools extractor sockets are shaped like that. I have all of Astro’s. Plus they have a combination extractor wrench set that has that same design in the box end. They work!
Awesome

Good video!!!
Thanks we really appreciate it

Thanks buddy, we appreciate the support and great idea.
Great review! Rarely do I see you guys so vehement. Very good trial and results.
Cool video
Thanks
I've got a set of Irwin and they're standard and metric all in one and they do a good job.
We will have to check them out
how much torque can they handle?
Great review. I bought this same Quinn set to remove a 3/8 exhaust stud. Just working with it for 20 minutes it would grab and then begin to slip. I was using a rachet too not impact. When you get those types of sockets always get sae and metric alot of times when the bolts are rusted or stripped they fall between sizes
Thanks
Good video
Thanks
I worked at a gm dealership. The hardware book said they used std and metric depending on what worked best
Dang I got all excited at how good they were doing until you guys pointed out that flaw.
I used a cheap set on amazon to back out the one way carriage bolt on security doors and they work good! They did break the teeth so might pick up a quinn set next.
If you don't get to Pittsburgh, get the Snap on.
Remember, every tool is a hammer!
I like the way you think
That is true!
I have the Gearwrench set and they've been great. Catus maxumus did a video on these, and the pittsburgh seem to have better teeth.
Those are exactly like the old silver Pittsburgh pro version I have they are nice
whats with the thin blue bracelets?
We back the blue.
@@PriceKustoms I get it... But back the blue until it happens to you. Everyone, cops and civilians, are dangerous in modern times.
I use blue point in 1/4 and 3/8 are pretty bad ass
I’ll have to check them out
I got a set and it aint doing anything and i think the socket is stripping im taking it back!
Nice video, guys! 🔥
I use extractor sockets with hand tools not Impact sockets
I don't know if you guys watch Project Farms test videos. But he did a video a few years ago testing various bolt extractors like these. One of the best sets he tested that weren't crazy expensive were the Rocket Sockets. I've been wanting a set ever since, sadly I never managed to buy one.
I think the amartisan set was pretty impressive so I went with that set and it’s served me well a few times.
@@deeeyewhy5949 That's good to know. It leaves the door open for potential choices.
Get them
We need to
You need a set of metric too bc when bolts rust you don't know what size you need I have both sets and ive never not been able to get a bolt out with these sockets
Got the silver set on sale for 7.99 was 24.99

BTW guys Quinn tools are manufactured BY GearWrench
Those are made to extract rounded bolts

The sockets failed!
They did
You can't unscrew dust

I don’t think HF is making the knife it looks the same as the Begg mini glimpse, they might be the making it for HF.
Pew pew..........................................pew
Take them back and trade for the Pittsburgh.
Great idea
So what a good bolt remover, i got a car that needs oil change, Wal-Mart over tighten that sob
They gave you 2 5/16
These are horrible, do not waste your money... I purchased them for a tough project and they are useless especially if you have no room to swing a hammer to wedge the socket on. A 1 out of 10
Sounds like a 13 mm
Your probably right
Great video
