What made this a great team performance was that Utd played Real Madrid 3 or 4 days earlier and got hammered. Lost 3-1 away in CL. Newcastle at St. James Park during these years was a tough place to go to. Utd bouncing back as hard and aggressively as they did showed so much character that modern day football teams could not match or even come close to! Utd were not good up to Dyer goal and its like it awoke a beast that went on a rampage for 20 minutes. Its the only time I have ever seen the Newcastle fans silent and emotionless in the crowd and Sir Bobby Robson speechless after the game
