On the main page of one of the papakatsu, or sugar daddy matching website in Japan, it says the following,
“Sell your friend”.
This means that if an adult women is to successfully introduce one of their female friends to an older men who is a member of the papakatsu website, the women who played the role of the match-maker will get paid a substantial fee.
But first of all, let us first clarify what papakatsu is.
the term can be largely defined as, to quote, "dating an older man and receiving financial assistance in return.”. So in a sense, ‘papakatsu’ can be said as the Western equivalent of a women having a sugar daddy.
And according to a popular survey conducted on 3000 adult women who were either in their 20s or 30s, 10% of them said “yes”, when asked if they have experiences in engaging in papakatsu.
So in today’s video, we’ll find out why this is the case in Japan from the side of both the male and female perspective, as well as discuss why it would be better for both the men and women who participate in such activities to reconsider the directions.

I recently discovered your channel and I found that your videos are very interesting and informative. I'm working as an Electrician foreigner in a traditional Japanese company for almost a year now. My Japanese is terrible for Japan's perfectionism standards, but I'm trying to improve it day by day, I thought that it's logical to dive deep into Japanese culture and psyche with respect to their history to fully grasp what's the norms of Japan. So I bought your book as soon as I finished watching your videos. I'm struggling with many questions that have been giving me headaches for years since I started studying in Japan in 2018. If possible I'd like to know your thought about them, or maybe not, this is just a way for me to organize my thinking, to write things down.
Given that I grew up and was raised in a completely opposite culture to Japan, which in summary you have to fight to have what you want. I know for sure that I can't change to fit into what Japan considers to be normal because it will deny the very personality that took me to Japan in the first place ( which is years of experience living in my home country). Then you may wonder why did I choose Japan, well let's just assume that I was young and dumb. So I have 2 questions that I want to ask:
1. Do you think that Japan itself can change its own culture in the rapid development of globalization? and how long do you think it will take?
2. To what extent does the Japanese culture apply to non-Japanese firms in Japan? for example, long working hours, obedient to the boss, risk-averse, not willing to express one own opinion, etc,,

To think that a man is willing to pay a lot of money for a woman's company and not wanting a physical relationship is just delusional. If that would be clear in everyone's mind the industry would be clearer.

Yeah, Japanese adult women are hanging out with old farts. So what? It's their choice. At the end of the day, they 'reap what they sow'. And they have absolutely no right to complain for what they get themselves into since they are legally an adult who can make financial decisions for themselves by participating in such shady businesses. Therefore, an opinion or perspective of someone looking at papakatsu from outside the business is completely useless and utterly pointless to bring up here in this discussion when there are two opposing sides who believes they are morally right. What you think about it does not matter in the eyes of those who find it as normal every day grind. Especially when such business does not concern the individual not participating in it. It's like saying the bdsm community is bad and should be ban throughout the world because of the negative perception it exudes to those who don't find it appealing, but that still doesn't stop the people who DO enjoy it from practicing it regardless of what the majority of society thinks. And this holds true even as a business that promotes it. You don't like it? Then don't use its services. Simple as that. Outlining and highlighting the negative aspects of such business is redundant, and isn't going to change it from existing. Especially when the option is an open choice to those who want it.

If women can't respect themselves and their own worth in this world enough, then they don't deserve to be respected. Some actions aren't deserve of praise, even if the legitimate reason is as basic as needing to survive.

Although wait... That's illegal in Japan, right? If a rule isn't enforced, then either the enforcers should be reprimanded or the rule should be changed to de jure allow what was de facto allowed before already.
(For context: being a prostitute is legal in Finland, as long as you give out receipts and pay your taxes, buying services from them is afaik not.)
That's why prostitution in Scandinavia is criminalised and customers have the possibility of blackmailing sexworkers into questionable acts. Prostitution is legal, but at least you'll lose your flat if somebody is telling about the SW.

It happens everywhere but this is point of view in Japan as it has its own set of "rules" that reflects with the culture.
The problem is people outside of Japan have this stigma about Japan that they think japanese woman are "easy" and have this 'kawaii' shy image thinking as a foreigner going to Japan would take advantage of this believe they could bang any women same as any other country but it's all a delusion, and this video why women in Japan do it.
It's nothing like compare lets say in the US where woman do it for easy money and couldn't be asked to work and woman like that are genuine whores, not all but a much larger percentage than of Japan with reasonable motive.

Well, they could have taken other jobs in the first place. That would not have been such a lot of money but the alternative is not starving but not being able to have a Luis Vitton bag but a cheaper one.
