- The Kelly kettle and hobo stove! A brilliant bit of camping kit! A fast boiling camping stove and camping cook set!
i take the kelly kettle to my local wood to test its ability to quickly boil water and to test out its cook kit by doing a bit of Kelly kettle cooking! I use the hobo stove to cook up some lunch and test Kelly kettles claim that it will boil water in 3 - 5 minutes. I also show you tips on how to use your Kelly kettle.
the kit i used was the ultimate base camp kit that i purchased a few years ago. This kit contains:
1.6 Litre stainless steel kettle with fire base and green whistle
Hobo stove
cook set that include 0.85 litre pot with lid that double as a frying pan, grill set and gripper handle.
2 x cups - 500ml and 350ml single walled stainless steel
2 x plates that can be used as a pan
pot support (new version also can be used as a base to prevent ground scorching
storage bag
All items stack together and fit neatly in the storage bag.
Total kit weight is 2.26 kg / 4.97 Ib
A super efficient kit that’s perfect for fishing trips, hunting, scouts, family picnics, car camping, canoe camping or part of survival kit.
No need to carry fuel! Can use sticks, pine cones, bark, dry grass or even a spirit burner.
Boils water fast with very little fuel!

I bought one when they were talking about rolling blackouts after COVID, trouble is there's hardly anywhere in my area you're allowed to use one. Having said that having been a scout and outdoorsman most of my life I love the thing, I just need to make a box for it to live in in my boot.
Best accessory to go with it is a little football pump for getting the fire going.

Yes it’s not something you would want to hike up a mountain with but brilliant for a days fishing or canoeing and for a day camp.
