Confirmed so far is PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. My thought is they're idiots for not releasing it on Xbox.
@@GalagaGuy88 because the PS4 is backwards compatible with PS5. So by putting it on the 4, it saves them the effort of having to port it to both. There's still roughly 40 Million active PS4 players in US alone, so it makes sense to do it that way.
Not releasing it on xbox however doesn't make sense, BUT, and this is speculation, I think they will probably release it later for xbox as a play anywhere title (meaning if you buy digital, you can play on both xbox and windows). I say this because virtually every recent capcom game is a play anywhere title (like MVC3 and MVCI, and the previous fighting collection) but that would probably require some additional licensing legwork
Honestly, 1Up killed their MvC2 cab by releasing it under such poor conditions. This is more of the nail in the coffin lol. This is what people have wanted and it will be pretty cool to see.

and 1 up prices keep going up and honestly 299 was too much for what you got on the first releases.
The license for marvel characters expired back in 2013, that's likely why we got the characters we got in mvci. This was probably in the works to renew the full series license and people were just entitled and impatient to consider that Capcom didn't forget about this series and have been working hard to get the licensing back. That's why all the online sales and removal from eshops was the licensing expired but gamers took it personally and thus Max start free marvel, which in hindsight is pretty stupid
Kudos to Marvel & Capcom for reminding modern audiences that the Punisher is based.

Rumors were around this was happening for a while. I will likely cancel the MVC2 I have on order based on this release. I prefer these collections with their quality of life enhancements.

I post my comments 2 days ago on Nintendo Direct I said “Pls Lord Marvel vs Capcom and Xmen vs Street Fighter” when I woke up the next morning my friend told me “your game is on” I’m like “your joking right?” And I hella Scream in tears I was like aaahhhhhh!!!! Arcade 1up had to have known that there were going to release a console version. That is why they released the '97 cabinet.
The arcade1up is 700 dollar where i live. People that can afford it, will buy it anyway and will probably be able to pay for the console version too. I'm glad more people get to play these games again, instead of the lucky few on a flawed arcade cabinet
They killed themselves by never having them readily available anymore.
So Capcom is offering home console collections of their games which is nothing new. Maybe we could see a physical cart of Capcom arcade games.

The straightforward answer to the question is definitely yes. However, the Fighting Collection is just the final, decisive blow. With Arcade1Up's release of MvC2 being so awful, it was already suffering from a death from a thousand cuts the moment it came out.

Well, people buy arcade cabinets for the nostalgic feeling of going into an arcade, not necessarily for just the game.
Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection are for those who just wanted a port on Steam/consoles. Most but not all of these people wasn’t going to buy an arcade cabinet regardless.
Kudos to capcom for including The Punisher!Me and my friends played that a LOT back in the day,now we can finaly play it again!!Now all thats left is Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and AvP!

I got the cabinet day one. It’s sitting in my man cave downstairs. Don’t regret it one bit cause that was my favorite game growing up and blew endless amount of money on it at the arcades. Even if I never play it, it’s a collectible. Also getting the collection for PlayStation when it comes out.

In a way yes.
Mainly when it comes to online play, no competition, the collection will be vastly superior.
I actually got the cabinet 1 week before the collection announcement (😂sods law)
And I'm still super excited for the collection.
But for me personally the 1up is great and is a centre piece in my game room and me and my son play it lots.
I'll still get the collection on switch (to collect and save) AND on ps4 or ps5 (to play online, train and look at the galleries)
Getting them to show support and hopefully if everybody in the community does the same we'll get a marvel vs capcom 4.
But this collection is great for ppl who couldn't get the 1up, or don't own or have access to any versions of the games in the collection.

Yes and no, it’s just like owning physical games. You either want the novelty of owning something that replicates the real thing or you want easy accessibility to what you already own.
And with this collection you can replicate playing on a modded arcade and have far less issues fingers crossed

A1up killed it long before this announcement.
I was actually saving up to get an Arcade1Up cabinet before I saw all the issues people were having with it and I switched gears to saving up for a new PC so I can just use fightcade again (RIP to my old PC).
Now that this has been announced to have rollback I’m happy I shifted to saving up for a PC. I’ll probably buy this collection on both PC and Switch since MVC2 is actually my favorite game of all time.
The Arcade 1UP cabs are a waste of money to begin with, this collection just proved it once and for all.
The Cab came out the same time Capcom released the stadium 🏟 2 and another Capcom collection on all the consoles and Steam PC 🖥 their was no reason to buy the Cab period

I never played online with my cab online anyway, it's a piece of furniture for my gameroom, if i wana play these games competitively i play on console with arcade stick. Always have.

they had too i was not going too spend 400 or 300 off these cabnats i am so hype for the arcade collection i am supporting this both digital and physical i like doing that . man i cannot wait too paly mvc2 i just played it back in the arcade days born in 1991 but in 96 97 98 i was old enough too play them in the arcades . whipe off my switch hear i come and whipe off my ps5 ear i come and i mostly play fighters on pc .
Yes. Console version is cheaper. I still have all the original games on various consoles. But I will be picking up a physical copy for both the PS4 and the Switch. I will play the PS4 version and keep the Switch version sealed.

I definitely don't have the budget for the arcade 1up, so this is perfect. been a huge fan of the marvel games as far back as MVSF on playstation back in the day. also had marvel vs capcom on dreamcast, so sank several hours into playing that one as well! I have all of capcom's other retro releases on switch so this will be right at home next to them whenever it drops!
Nice! I already have an Xbox series S in my game room solutions Pocket Fighter themed cab with the Capcom Fighting Collection and Street fighter anniversary collection so this will be a great addition.
I can go from my cab or back to the couch and play on my series x or switch or Ps4 with my custom fight stick.
If you wanted to keep the MvC2 cab you could just gut it and drop a console and run the new collection.

The most appealing thing to me with MvC2 back on DreamCast was Unlocking the Characters.
It gave me something to do.
I just hope I can Unlock the characters myself instead of them being unlocked upon release.
The characters are more than likely are already unlocked. The mvc2 in the collection is the arcade version, which required players to pump in quarters to unlock characters.

It's not that they killed the cabinet but more like the cabinet has reached it course.
The licencing agreement with the cabinet is that it's listed as a toy and not a video game, meaning that they didn't get tied down by the crazy loopholes of re-releasing the video games. But it's also a double-edged sword in that there is a limited number of cabinets that can be created under a toy licence for collectible appreciation reasons. I heard to number was somewhere between 500-550
This explains the new version of the cabinet with the X-Men 97 branding because it's a new toy, a different collectible, another set of 500+ they can make.
Had the MvC Fighting Collection not come into existence yet, I'm sure A1Up would have come up with another branding variant to make more cabinets.
I never found a good deal on the 1up MVC2. Thinking can finally get Intec deck and hook up to my switch. Perfect to play MVC2. I’m excited. Have had a lemon 1up sitting in the corner for last year…looks like mod time

I‘m glad I got the limited edition of the MSH cabinet shortly before the pandemic took off. Great addition to my Billard room, but ultimately mainly for my guests/friends and just something for the eyes.

@@Saixjacket 499 isn't a bad deal for what you get to begin with. As far as "Stands". Qanba already put out the 2009. It's a desk with built in 1P or 2P fight stick setups with sanwa sticks. It's 799 and you still got to add a monitor, but you could plug your console, steam deck or PC to it.
I could throw Sanwa parts in the A1UP for about another 100 bucks or less, have the games and come out cheaper

(And i would still get an arcade1up with mvc2 if i could... And will in the future if possible. I want an mvc2 cab in my house one way or another. Ill have a cobbled cab when the switch version drops, tho, and thatll suffice for now (switch on an adustable monitor stand/external monitor with two fightsticks. Swap out switch for iPad with retroarch for all other arcade))

Yeah, this pretty much kills the MvC2 cabs for AC1up. I've already got a cab converted with the Intec Gaming Switch Fighting Stick, so that's best of both worlds there. 😃

Probably, but honestly not many people both have the space or the money for the Arcade 1Up machine. The modern console release makes these games available to nearly everyone who could possibly want them for the first time in years. It’s absolutely a great thing that this is happening.
Does it suck for the people who did buy the Arcade 1Up? Not really. Because anyone who was willing to spend that much on an arcade machine like that would have done it regardless of whether the games were available on consoles or not. Nearly all the games on previous machines either already were, or were soon to be available elsewhere, and people still bought the cabinets.

I preferred to play those Marvel vs Capcom series on the arcade than on the consoles. If you buy the MvC2 Arcade1up or the X-men '97, you can play online against other players for free. If you buy the console version, you have to pay a membership to play online.
Arcade 1 up deliverers the arcade experience more then consoles I haven’t seen the arcade marvel Vs capcom ever since I went to the arcade I’m glad capcom didn’t put the console rom into the arcade 1 up make us have to unlock every character over again I know the arcade machines never did that when you go to the arcade you will hear the games say capcom presents with Ryu on the consoles there is no Ryu but what capcom did was added some cheats like let you play as the bosses not sure if you can do that in the arcade I’ve tried doing that so many times that must be for consoles only and have infinite bars you can use your finishing move over and over only on consoles and most of all you get vibration not really sure if they will had these on PS4 and Nintendo Switch
I was iffy about their last fighting collections. Not a big fighting game guy unless it's soul calibur, but, I will be buying this collection for sure.

@@atelierbagur3831 No, I believe he meant Marvel Super Heroes in War of the Gems is not going to be include in the Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Clasics. Also X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse will not be included as well. Both were originally released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, so there are reasons for people to buy the Marvel Vs. Capcom 1up arcade cabinet for these two orignally released SNES games.
If We Get MVC4, You'll see Ms. Marvel & Luke getting the Lion Share of the Promotion.

I hope a future MVC4 (hypothetically of course) pulls an SF6 by emphasizing new characters in the roster but still adding plenty of the fan favorite classics from the MVC series. Good mix of Marvel heroes from different teams and various Capcom series.
I may have been more a customer if they would upgrade their controls. The Arcade 1Up controls are not even Sanwa clone quality. I can get into the MvC2 scene for around $140 that's with a Sanwa Fight Stick
Actually you could play MvC2 online on both xbox 360 and PS3. Also I’d they wanted to capitalize on Deadpool and Wolverine they should have included MvC3 which has Deadpool in it.
I never played any of these but I heard they were good.. I really liked the Darkstalkers collection they did.. Got a couple of the others a little later.. Wouldn’t mind having it physically

I'm hoping for a physical release.
You know why right, because the licensing for marvel characters ended in 2013 and thus PS3 and 360 by law had to get these games removed. Capcom likely has required the licensing for these characters again!

No more Street Fighter machines from them, because this just killed it.

The only thing that’s doing better then arcade 1 up is the street fighter collection you don’t see street fighter alpha 1 2 3 or third strike the arcade 1 up has been out since 2018 they released street fighter 2 with super street fighter 2 and super street fighter 2 turbo ever since then they haven’t released all the street fighter games instead mixing them with final fight not the entire street fighter collection but marvel Vs capcom they released the entire collection except didn’t include marvel Vs capcom 3

I still have mine in the box. This kills any attempt for resale but I will probably keep it and try to use a raspberry pi and emulators to justify using it.

In all honesty yes they could of made alot money just by selling the personal aracades but to put it on all the consoles and make it available even on pc there going to double those profits maybe triple them i think it was a smart move on there part

😮💨 Yeees, You're right about Marvel wanting the publicity for its upcoming movies and TV shows (Xmen'97), and the more platforms, the better. My hope? A future patch is possible that lets Arcade1up and Switch servers handshake with each other. Imagine a cross-play between A1U & Switch😃
I highly doubt that handshake would ever happen. Just put a switch in an arcade1up with an intec gaming control panel and you'll enjoy it more
