- As the title implies, my rant in this video centers around the dozens of ways that we are taxed to death! In reality, it is a pretty tame rant (compared to what it could have been). Calving season continues and we have a new arrival. Thanks for watching, eat beef, and God bless!

We haven’t had quite that much rain over the last couple of weeks, but we are in much the same position. Hoping we avoid any extended cold snaps and get these animals grazing soon!

Having just paid my property taxes in the demilitarized zone that is the county just to your south, I have been rather descriptive with the four letter words describing taxes recently.

Yeah, we really don’t have it that bad here compared to some places. That said, these taxes are still ridiculous and, if we don’t stand up for ourselves, they’ll continue to push more taxes down our throats
I know taxes suck but where else would the money come from to fix roads, bridges etc. ?
They could eliminate about 80% of the bureaucratic positions and cut wasteful spending in an endless number of ways. I don’t see us ever eliminating taxes but there’s plenty of government waste that could be trimmed to allow us to drastically cut taxes and still balance the budget
Work like a dog and get taxed when you buy it then property taxes every year. Kinda makes you mad. I may be wrong but when a person reaches retirement age of 62 or 65 they should be able to draw their check and work all they want. Just my two cents
Yeah, we’ve just slowly let taxes creep in to every imaginable way possible. And most folks just say, “oh well, that’s just the way it is” & move on. I think we need more of us speaking out and raising hell to get change implemented before we tax ourselves to death!

your rant on taxes is un called for all your equipment is tax exempt your buildings, all your fuel. every input in your business is tax exempt reduce . your write offs both state and federal reduce your income to zero on paper. How about the free grants, cost share programs the the NCRS has for farmers and large land owners (all paid for by tax payers who are not farmers) a good farm always shows a zero or negative on tax forms. Plus you get reduced interest rates on farm and equipment loans from the federal farm services (paid for by tax payers) and banks that average Joe citizen can't get. Your vehicle tax and farm plates are a tax write off. Average Joe citizen cant. So SON you are talking out you arse. Also Tennessee has some of the lowest property taxes in the USA ranked #37 with 1 being the highest
I’ve gone on the record numerous times saying I’m in favor of closing all the loopholes, eliminating subsidies, etc in favor of simply slashing taxes. I’m simply playing the game with the rules we are forced to play by. Taxation is theft no matter who you are. I can assure you that I pay an absurd amount to our lovely government every quarter. I will absolutely take advantage of every loophole I can. Don’t hate the player, hate the game!
I assume you aren’t tax exempt in your vet practice. I bet you would trade the tax benefits you have farming for the taxes you still HAVE to pay elsewhere. Paying quarterly is always fun! 🤦🏻♂️
