I'm glad our heroes got to meet. The Henson Company is full of my heroes, and while I love Nintendo, Jim and Brian are people that I envy: they get to spend their whole life doing something they really love and don't need to worry about money because they just...do it.
Gaminglord You know... It might have have been hilarious if you see Kermit as Slippy. Granted though it would be hard to say if that would have stolen the show (as if it hadn't already)
Microsoft (as Statler): Why do we always come here? There's Shooter to be done… Sony (As Wladorf): It's like some kind of torture to see them have some fun.
The glee on Miyamoto's face looks so genuine and child like. I often hear people say things about him being old and out of touch. I think videos like this really show how Miyamoto is at heart just a big kid who just wants to make cool stuff for all the other (big) kids out there.
noisekeeper That would be amazing. It is a utter and complete shame that Mr. Henson left this world so early. But luckily, we have a lot of innovative designers and puppeteers in the current age! :D
alensuino Just seeing this was a nice reminder that not everything has to be serious and it can be about fun. Something that I think people need to remember more.
alensuino The only stance that makes any sense is that their presentation(AKA the PUPPETS) was amazing, but the content was almost non-existent. There's no arguing about it.
***** Define "non-existent content" please. Sure, the Digital Event didn't meet expectations but they showed a lot and had an overall great presence at the E3 (aside from the non-hyping Digital Event).
Watching them both talking in their native languages without the interruptions from the translators makes this feel like the han/greedo scene from star wars.
Poor Mr. Tezuka so rarely in the same spotlight Mr. Miyamoto bathes in. It's almost as if he is Nintendo's real-life Luigi while Mr. Miyamoto is Nintendo's real-life Mario.
MarcManGames Glad you liked it. But don't feel sad. Mr. Tezuka loves what he is doing. I'm positive he is good sports regarding Miyamoto's fame or maybe he is even glad that he doesn't have to give dozens of interviews all the time..
Absolutely wonderful. For those who keep harping about how Nintendo should be more 'mature' like Sony and Microsoft, this video should be a reminder if how awful such an idea really is. Nintendo thrives on child-like wonder and creative whimsy, which is why it has lasted for 126 years. Critics keep ranting and raving about how Nintendo should 'get with the times', and how they should release obscenely powerful (and costly) hardware with no innovation whatsoever. Its offerings should be cold, sterile and lack imagination - and they should identical to the competition. I say nuts to that. Nintendo should NOT 'get with the times'. Why should they, when the 'times' we're living in are so terrible? Nintendo needs to march to its own drum; they should experiment, innovate and (yes) play with gimmicks non-stop. They are a toy company. They create toys - awesome toys - and losing that creative spark is the worst thing that could possibly happen. Copying other successes is not what they do. They will never be Playstation. They will never be Xbox. Stop pressuring them to do so.
Omar Elmosrati Nintendo has flaws. I know that too. Game droughts. Frustrating account systems. Amiibo shortages. Yes, their consoles lack 3rd party games - but similarly, Sony and Microsoft's 1st party output is nowhere near as strong (IMO). The PS4's best selling game is Killzone: Shadow Fall (2 million) and the Xbox One's is Titanlfall (also 2 million. Yet the Wii U's is Mario Kart 8, with 5 million. Even Shuhei Yoshida admitted that only 30 to 40% of Sony's games make money, and it's well-known that the Xbox division incurs massive losses for Microsoft. All companies have their weaknesses - and though Nintendo's 3rd party situation is severely lacking, the 3rd parties themselves aren't exactly blameless. They released gimped ports of pre-existing games on Wii U, then acted surprised that they didn't sell. Even ZombiU (essentially a new IP) only sold 100,000 units less than the Xbox One version of Assassin's Creed: Black Flag (the sixth of a blockbuster franchise), yet Ubisoft was cranky with the sales. Similarly, EA supposedly ditched Nintendo shortly after announcing their "unprecedented relationship", because they refused to support Origin (though this is only a rumour). Similarly, despite being the most successful platform, 3rd parties just love avoiding the 3DS (well, the Western ones, anyway). Though this is my opinion, I think indie support is more valuable to Nintendo than the 'Triple-A' industry. The major publishers are going bankrupt all over the place, whilst indies are booming with original and beautiful games. Today's indies are tomorrow's triple-A devs, and Nintendo are better off fostering relationships with them. Games like Shovel Knight, Gunman Clive, Retro City Rampage and Mutant Mudds all had the best sales on Nintendo platforms. Though Nintendo's sales could be better, they are perfectly fine financially. I feel the term 'gimmick' has received negative connotations, because in fact, all of videogaming was built on 'gimmicks'. If Nintendo wasn't willing to experiment with 'gimmicks', we would never have the d-pad, shoulder buttons, 'diamond' layout and thumbsticks that are now standard in gaming. If they hadn't experimented with Game and Watch, we would never have the phenomenally successful handhelds. They were the first to experiment with online gaming with the Famicom. The Wii. The DS. Even dating back to toy manufacturing - Nintendo's success was built on new ideas and 'gimmicks' - because EVERY new idea looks like a gimmick at first. Until it becomes standard, and everyone copies it.
Kris Godwin They can try new things, why not? But giving me something like the Wii U, which hardly feels like a video game console isn't exactly the right way to do it. While some third party companies can be blamed for doing that stuff, that doesn't go for all of them. There are very few companies that are ok with the more gimmicky consoles. (SEGA, indie developers etc....) Yes, they are perfectly fine financially, but that won't be the same for long. The 3DS may be the leading console this generation, but it's actually very affordable and doesn't generate as much money as the PS4. 2015 was the first profitable year for Nintendo since 2011. Sheesh. All they need to do is make a console as powerful as it's competitors, have a decent controller, avoid anything _too_ gimmicky bam. After a generation or two, Nintendo will be on top again. With hardcore gamers, when it comes to the console wars, Nintendo is just another SEGA. A company who stopped making consoles. The number of casuals are shrinking, what the big N did with the Wii won't work anymore, they need to capture the hardcore audience. AKA, the bigger audience.
Omar Elmosrati I don't know what you mean about the Wii U hardly feeling like a videogame console. What is a videogame console supposed to feel like? Do have a source indicating that the PS4 makes more money than 3DS? Yes, Nintendo has taken losses in the last couple of years - but compare that to Sony, who have lost billions over the last DECADE. The PS3 alone erased all profits generated by the PSOne and PS2. Not to mention the selling of premises and businesses, the firing of thousands, the numerous hacks and the downgrading of 'junk' stock status. The Playstation brand is profitable - yes - but it's nothing compared to the overall strife the company is in. In contrast, Microsoft as a whole is fine financially - but the Xbox brand has never been profitable. It too, has cost the company billions. Yet, Nintendo is the one that's failing? "All they need to do is make a console as powerful as it's competitors, have a decent controller, avoid anything too gimmicky bam. After a generation or two, Nintendo will be on top again." That's the worst thing Nintendo could possibly do. Engaging in a power race with Sony and Microsoft is suicide, and despite their healthy status, the company doesn't have the resources of Sony and Microsoft. If Nintendo goes all-out with specs, what's to stop its competitors from constantly outdoing them? Nothing. Not to mention the obscene development costs of games and the reduced chance of making a profit from expensive hardware. Look at the most popular game on the planet - Minecraft. It's not a game that uses ridiculous graphics. Similarly, the biggest games on PC aren't the triple-A heavy-hitters - but indie games like Rust and Day-Z. With the obsession over power, countless studios have gone bankrupt in the last generation alone. This is why we're seeing alternative money-making schemes like microtransactions and DLC, because publishers desperately need to cover their costs. Even on the 'underpowered' Wii U, Nintendo is feeling the sting of expensive development. Thanks to the de-emphasis on power, Nintendo's games have a higher chance of being successful. Despite 'only' selling a million units, Hyrule Warriors was still deemed profitable - yet Square Enix considered Tomb Raider to be a flop, even though it sold a mammoth 3.4 million copies. "The number of casuals are shrinking, what the big N did with the Wii won't work anymore, they need to capture the hardcore audience. AKA, the bigger audience." The 'hardcore' audience is by no means 'bigger' than the casual crew. The dominance of smartphones alone should tell you that. The hardcore audience will always be there - but Nintendo always needs to find ways to expand. Again, this is how they've lasted for 126 years; by exploring new avenues. Look up the 'blue ocean' strategy.

Bless Miyamoto's heart. Seriously, I hope one day I can shake this man's hand, seeing a man his age just having so much FUN with everything just gives me hope for humanity lol.
I really hope Nintendo realizes that none of the negative feedback that came out of this year's presentation had anything to do with this. The puppets, the goofy skits, and the general silliness is really what sets Nintendo apart from the rest of the industry. They always have something unique to offer, and even if the fans are less than enthused with some of the games, Nintendo's imaginative style never fails to amuse and impress. I hope they don't lose that childlike spirit.
Nintendo and Jim Henson Studios prime examples of many people's childhood. It is also very weird to see a legend like Mr. Miyamoto almost act like a child no a fan boy, when we so often see people act like that to him. Proof even a legend like him is just as human as us. Also that tour looks like a blast.
What many people don't get was that the puppets were made to hide the fact that Iwata was sick, and many people criticized the presentation. My condolences to the entire Iwata Family.
Does he understand Japanese? It seems like it. It's so interesting seeing people communicate with each other with different languages without a translator because they both understand both languages.
Leif Eriksson They did a few jump cuts, but after some parts it seemed like they responded right away with no cut. I think they were wearing earpieces that we couldn't see.
The collaborations Nintendo does with these great studios are among my favourite things from E3 each year, never stop Nintendo and I hope we will have more great stuff like this for many E3s to come.
I just had a constant smile throughout this video. Seeing Miyamoto is always amazing for me, not only because of his contributions to all of gaming but also because of his child like glee at so many things that have shaped his creativity. He just kinda seems adorable and he is such a huge inspiration to me.
Seeing two of my greatest childhood interests collide like this was more than fantastic. To both Mr. Miyamoto and Mr. Henson, keep doing what you're doing. It's made and will continue to make contributions to a lot of lives.
It's really weird when you see two famous people meet and find out they are actually very big fans of each other and leads to a sort of beautifully awkward exchange of respects.
It's funny seeing people who you would geek out over and hold in such high esteem do the same for someone else. I don't think I've ever seen Miyamoto this happy, almost flustered really. I find it kind of humbling to myself somehow, in all honesty. I do know one thing for sure, it makes me smile quite a bit too.
Wow this is amazing and adorable. Miyamoto is such a playful person. He's not a company man in a suit, being all uptight. He's like a kid, which is just amazing.
there´s a certain charm in watching someone you admire such as Mr. Miyamoto being excited over muppets like a kid, pretty cool that people like that never lost his sense of wonder
Yuuki_Tsumugi How about DHX Media and Hasbro collaborating to make Reggie, Iwata, Miyamoto, and Link stop at Canterlot High, and step through the statue mirror as humans, but emerge on a Canterlot Stage in Equestria, as PONIES, and feature a cameo of MLP Epona fangirling over Link's appearance! Reason I choose Link is because next year is The Legend of Zelda's 30th Anniversary.
Someone in this comment section said Kermit was confirmed for smash... I can see it now... Kermit flaps in! Miss Piggy comes after Kermy Fozzie waka-wakas i'm done
JAJAvsWORLD yes, and to the event hall that hosted the world championships and all the tech that had to be brought and set up so people could actually play what a company showed off in their presentation.
This made me so happy. There are certain creators and studios that just stand the test of time as legends. Miyamoto and the classic Nintendo creators, Jim Henson Company, Disney, Pixar, Studio Gibli and Miyazaki, the classic Marvel creators like Lee, Kirby and Ditko, there's not many out there.
Oh my god I love this. I'm a huge Jim Henson fan and seeing nintendo and jim henson come together for once just made me so happy. Please do more collaborative work with the Jim Henson studio!
I have to hand it to Jim Henson Studios, they made Satoru Iwata's final public appearance a very memorable one.
R.I.P. Satoru Iwata

Mr. Miyamoto looks like a child at play. It's so heartwarming.
This video makes me so happy. If I'm sad I have to remember to watch it because it always puts a smile on my face.
Stuck with a huge grin on my face. Even the joy radiated in the interview despite the language barrier, and that's just awesome
You can see on Mr. Miyamoto's face that this is someone he looked up to.
It's good to see that even the great have idols.
The Greats Look up to each other to better themselves as people
Imagine Miyamoto in a meeting but he's under the table and using the Miyamoto puppet.
And reggie at the other end, with his puppet.
I mean, has there been anybody whose childhood was *not* affected by either the Muppets or Nintendo?
People from the 1800s or in Africa.

Its time to light the lights!
Its time to meet the big stars at Nintendo E3 tonight!

Time to meet the big stars. Of E3. Tonight.

😩😤 really wow just wow muppets sucks so badly
Its so cool to see Miyamoto nerd out about muppets.
I've been just going through the comments, looking for someone to share this sentiment with me ouo
Two legendary companies coming together for greatness! Nintendo and the Jim Henson company. Childhood memories OVERLOAD!
I don't care what you think of Nintendo and their stance in the E3/gaming "competition"

I hope they have the muppets in like a news station way announce new updates like breaking news!Update for super smash brothers is here
Passive cookie Thats would be a GREAT idea if they dont go with their own muppet show idea, otherwise, muppet news announcements are fantastic
Next time what are they gonna use though. ... Legos?
They will use amiibos next year like a reggie amiibo or paper craft

I hope the puppets get more use, they're so amazing.

***** You just tune in to the earpiece over the actual person talking.
Leif Eriksson They did a few jump cuts, but after some parts it seemed like they responded right away with no cut. I think they were wearing earpieces that we couldn't see.
I still can't get over that TheBitBlock and I got to go there the next day! :D
Thats pretty dope.
For Puppet Up?
This video is going to leave A spark in the greatest part of my heart for all eternity
Puppets confirmed for next Nintendo game.
SaekaSA It's called Kirby and the Puppet Palooza.
SuperMarionation
drybones 02ZD Mario & Luigi Puppet Adventure
SaekaSA dongkey kong puppet adventure , pokemon puppet
This obviously means Kermit is going to be in Smash.
That’s extremely cool. I grew up with the Jim Henson company.
Kermit confirmed for Smash 4. Seriously though, I love Nintendo, I love The Jim Henson Company, I would love-love a Nintendo/Muppet game.
Or movie
michael clark or a movie with a video game tie-in
Miguel Castro Kermit in Mario Kart 8, Miss Piggy fighting in Smash Bros. I can see it happen!!!
greenrobot5 I really, really can't.
Kermit: Becomes the Puppeteer!
Kermit: Hops onto the Fray!
Kermit: Makes Fighters Green (in the face)!
Field trip with the boys
Fascinating to see Miyamoto be the fanboy for once
"OH NO NOT PUPPETRY!" -JonTron
H a v e s u m p u p p e t s
Jim would have LOVED to meet Miyamoto-san.
Dat ain't Falco
It's Reggie.
Only Reggie could be falco. East coast accents in full force.
iownalx23 "Personally I prefer my body to be ready"
Sundowner The Invincible "hands off my bread"
WOMBO COMBO
My thoughts exactly
I love it when artists from two different media collaborate together.
This made me smile. :D
And it makes me wonder who are the 10 heartless fools who disliked this video.
EuroHEV Same! Loved this video. Smiled throughout the whole thing. It's quite obvious Miyamoto is a Muppet fan and he loved the travel. Emoticono grin
It's really weird when you see two famous people meet and find out they are actually very big fans of each other and leads to a sort of beautifully awkward exchange of respects.
Miyamoto just seems like a really cool person to be around, it'd be so cool to meet him one say
*day
+Ryan Wilson autocorrect?
It's funny seeing people who you would geek out over and hold in such high esteem do the same for someone else. I don't think I've ever seen Miyamoto this happy, almost flustered really. I find it kind of humbling to myself somehow, in all honesty. I do know one thing for sure, it makes me smile quite a bit too.
It's so cute seeing Mr. Miyamoto playing with puppets, haha.
Ahh Nintendo's humility and warmth.. This is very nice, heartwarming. I love it. And Dark Crystal forever!!!
This is very epic in a lot of ways ♥♥
BEAUTIFUL
RanaTV ranito andaba divagando en las cosas raras De nintendo y te veo aquí bueno aunque pusiste esto hace 5 años.
I loved this video. I love Miyamoto San, he has truly changed the world for the better.
I hope you bring back the puppets next year (or in future Nintendo Directs). They were my favorite parts about the E3 Digital Event!
Wow this is amazing and adorable. Miyamoto is such a playful person. He's not a company man in a suit, being all uptight. He's like a kid, which is just amazing.
its like a tekken cutscence, someone will talk who cant speak japanese will understand them completely and respond in English ^-^
The camera man muppet was the highlight of it all. Just the expression on his face as he witness the transformation was priceless.
Marvel: Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover ever.
Nintendo and Jim Henson Studios: Hold my beer.
THIS IS AMAZING!
Never thought I'd see two of my favourite icons meet - Shigero Miyamoto and Kermit! (Brian Henson is great too)
This was really great! Hope to see some more of these puppets in the future!
*****
Pretty sure it was reported that its gonna happen in future directs
Santiago 3:16 You don't know how happy that makes me. =)
OH SHOOT!!😱 I saw the Nintendo Direct with the puppets! But I had no idea the the Jim Henson company itself helped with this!
Very cool! I personally enjoyed the muppet section of E3...
there´s a certain charm in watching someone you admire such as Mr. Miyamoto being excited over muppets like a kid, pretty cool that people like that never lost his sense of wonder
i have the feeling we are gonna see these puppets again if they make a StarFox Zero Direct in the future
BirriaBoy64 I would love it if that happened, assuming they're even making a Starfox Zero Direct.
They actually have said that they will reuse the puppets, so we'll be seeing more of them! :D
I like how Nintendo uses music from their video games to match the scene.
First Robot Chicken, then the Muppets, wonder what they'll do next. xp
Actually, I just thought of Lego. xp
YoshiAngemon How about no
YoshiAngemon I personally have nothing against it, but I feel there would be a huge backlash from the anti-bronies if they do that.
Yuuki_Tsumugi 2D animation
Nintendo makes you feel like a proud child every day, that's why I love them.
It's wonderful to see two groups come together who both have spent about their entire life creating things for everyone's enjoyment.
partnership made in nostalgia heaven
This so cool! I had a huge smile on my face when Mr.Miyamoto was playing with the Fox Muppet. Just seeing the creators of Mario play around is fun.
Nintendo has made games in the style of paper craft and yarn.. now we need a mario game that looks like Jim Henson Puppets
Thanks to Miyamoto the thought of having an actual muppet of yourself is kinda cool
1:53 Dat guy be like "*I have no idea what you're saying... But i'm gonna laugh just to act like I do...* *Unsure chuckles.* "
Jeremy Boateng That's actually cool how they understand each other tho...
They edited the video and cutted off the scenes where the translator talks because there are subtitles.
Oh. That's actually great to know. Ialmost thought they were actually speacking to each other but with seperate languages!
The Jim Henson Company 's brand of delivering happiness and gaming's most beloved creators put me in a really good mood. Long live both of them :j
Someone in this comment section said Kermit was confirmed for smash...
I can see it now...
Kermit flaps in!
Miss Piggy comes after Kermy
Fozzie waka-wakas
i'm done
Pacman VS Fozzie Bear, BATTLE OF THE WAKA WAKAS
***** i would buy it
Jeffy 4 Smash
This vid is making me really happy because of this awesome collab of two things that created my childhood
Nintendo and Jim Henson Studios
So this is where the budget for the direct went
Lol
JAJAvsWORLD worth it
JAJAvsWORLD Your avatar fits so perfectly.
CauseFilth The Skeleton Swag Lord It does xD
JAJAvsWORLD yes, and to the event hall that hosted the world championships and all the tech that had to be brought and set up so people could actually play what a company showed off in their presentation.
This is why I love Nintendo! This was definitely my favorite part of all of E3.
Rip "Directly to you" Sir
This made me so happy.
There are certain creators and studios that just stand the test of time as legends. Miyamoto and the classic Nintendo creators, Jim Henson Company, Disney, Pixar, Studio Gibli and Miyazaki, the classic Marvel creators like Lee, Kirby and Ditko, there's not many out there.
MIYAMOTO!♡:D
You can tell there's a bunch of fun and creative people in a video when I'm smiling and trying my best to hold back laughter just watching.
JUST like in the Muppet Movie
I LOVE THIS. You can totally see how Miyamota is just so grateful and how excited he is about visiting the Jim Henson Studio.
I want a Miyamoto Muppet!
I can never know the feeling of having one of if not the most recognizable character in the whole world. It truly must be overwhelming
Multiplayer and Online for #StarFoxZero damn it
soccerzz5 Yes please that was the best in Command and very sad not having it in 64 3D ):
This was the highlight for me, since it was lighthearted and entertaining. Those people are responsible for our childhoods and I salute them! :)
Meanwhile Kermit complains about Joel downloading desktop strippers.
boxman139 While bonzai talks about Expanding Dongs
wInDOwS is IN DanGER
This is why I love Nintendo, they never take stuff seriously, and always remember to have fun
Welcome to the under 301 club how unoriginal are ya
Noah Hall I'm so unoriginal I liked this comment
Noah Hall as unoriginal as ur mom
^ can't stand these dank memes
Noah Hall KappaPride
Noah Hall I'm so original I voted for Shrek in the Smash Fighter Ballot.
Oh my god I love this. I'm a huge Jim Henson fan and seeing nintendo and jim henson come together for once just made me so happy. Please do more collaborative work with the Jim Henson studio!
***** 1:00 Joel! Are you jealous of me Joel!
Two of the best things on the world coming together. My heart melts.
Tezuka is so under rated compared to Miyamoto. He reminds me of Luigi in that way.
