Nintendo has officially revealed the true purpose of the Gamecube handles.
Took them 15 years.

It was their attempt at a fully portable home console and was designed around the Gamecube TV screen and Gamecube battery pack accessories so that you could play Gamecube anywhere.
It never caught on though.

I could never imagine Furukawa and Bowser doing something like this.
Wasting everyone's time? I can't imagine it either. The smoke and mirror show was definitely Wii/Wii U era Nintendo. Furukawa and Bowser are more like Yamauchi and Howard Lincoln. Not much on personality, but they did their job.
It's not that companies have to be like that, but the Reggie and Iwata days gave Nintendo a vibe, not just fun, but unique. And while the Wii U was not the console that was expected, they still managed to get a smile.
I will remember those days fondly.
I love the new humorous style they have since the last 2 years or so. It's so much more enjoyable than the old stiff presentations.
