Here's a brief tutorial on the Hdmi audio extractor and other models that are virtually the same as this. HDMI Audio Extractor Splitter. This product is incredibly helpful because it allows us to get an RCA or Optical cable from HDMI.
I have a non hdmi receiver and I’m trying to get my smart Roku tv to play the surround sound.
I’m trying to figure out the same thing. I can get it to play, but the subwoofer isn’t playing low tones well
Okay i just got a new Samsung TV, i am using the optical audio out into a D/A converter that has RCA right and left channels that i feed into my Adcom 2 channel preamp... it works good, but i lost the ability to adjust the volume with my TV/cable box remote since it's a fixed signal, is the HDMI ARC going to a converter like what you have allow you to still adjust the volume with the TV/cable remote, without having to use the Adcom stereo remote?
I tried one of these devices with the optical cable and it sounded like utter $hit. It really was horrible sounding. Even the wife said "no way" as soon as she heard it. No bueno.
That sucks too bad maybe it was that brand send it back and try another one maybe.
Will the sound come out in hdmi high quality? Or will it just sound like shit in rca quality?? Please let me know.
Why not show us how to connect to the receiver?
You can also use two sided tape or velcro strips to hide the adapter behind the TV. You can stick it to the TV or to the wall behind the TV
I have sorround sound speakers install in the ceiling, cables run down and out the wall and are connected to a Yamaha natural sound AV receiver HTR-5830 will your device work?
Thanks for video. Any idea why I can only get sound out of my right speakers?
Try selecting a different setting button on your receiver. It worked for us.
Can anyone help I got the same audio extractor i got the rca Jack's in my old receiver to the audio extractor and I also have hdmi 2 on the TV to the audio extractor in the output what am I doing wrong
You need only 1 hdmi arc out from tv to extractor.
thank you so much looked at so many videos on youtube ... thank god I found this
Can I still use tv remove to change volume?
The volume will be on your stereo now. You can use the tv remote to control just the TV volume. But the stereo will still be separate so you will need a remote for that or just do it manually. It depends also like chrome cast has built in volume so it will actually work like this.
I bought a similar device from Amazon but without an optical port. I’m trying to get my old Sharp Sound Bar to work with my modem Sony Bravia TV. I tried everything and it still doesn’t work, even with the HDMI cable hooked up to the TV. What am I doing wrong?
I have the av2hdmi and i dont know how to connect it to my receiver being that my 70inch don't have the red white n yellow plugs in the back. So how would i connect it?

Now I’m wondering if I’m using hdmi port for my fire stick will it play that audio aswel
Yes if you plug fire stick into the audio extractor device it will work.
It looks like the link to Amazon is for a 4K converter. Will 4K work even though my tv is not 4K? I think this is the solution to my problem otherwise!
Yes it should work as long as its HDMI.
Would the speakers still work if the tv is on UA-cam
Is it a smart tv? Do you use the smart tv for everything? You might need to use hdmi arc.
with this device , can i get 5.1 surround sound if i use the rca output? , i have an old pioneer dolby prologic receiver with rca analog input only.
You’d have to use the digital optical to get true 5.1 sound. But if RCA is your only option you’ll get stereo sounds from nice speakers.
@@ReviewKingHQ tnx for the info.
Thank you this works!
The link brings you to one without the RCAs.
Thank you
So informative thanks for sharing
1:09 I have a pioneer elite tv will this device work on it.
If I has an hdmi yea
I have a tcl smart tv. I connected from the arc plug to the splitter, then the red white from the splitter to my receiver. It recognizes the arc, but no sound
EBAY MORE CHEAP FROM 13.95 AND UP DAMM AMAZON THERE THIEF
Why they make TV like this? Full digital in and outlet. Need to wait 1 to 2 week to make it works.
Will this work with my roku tv? The hdmi comes directly from the tv. Would I need to go hdmi from the tv into the extender, then rca to the receiver?
Roku tv makes it a little more complicated you might be able to use HDMI arc of your tv has that?
@@ReviewKingHQ I have a TVL roku tv, want to use it with my Garman Kardon AVR7300. Love the receiver, but would like to use it with the tv, and the tv remote. The receiver has an optical port which works through the tv, but it doesn’t pair the remotes.
TCL
What is this box called so I can order it? Thx!
Can I hook up a receiver and sound bar to tv with this
How can I contact you i need help on what my receiver should be set on to hear my tv sound
why not just use the rca jacks from the tv to the receiver and bypass buying the splitter
@@ReviewKingHQ also, most tvs have a 3.5mm audio output jack which is what I use.
You know, I bought new Samsung TV and it's fully digital in and outlet.
Did you get an answer to this ?
New tvs don’t have audio inputs
Samsung optical to receiver pioneer
So if I have a left/right and center speaker with this work?
I have an old kenwood receiver that I’m trying to connect to a 80 inch tv . I’m using chrome cast . This would work for that ?
@@ReviewKingHQ no it’s old school . Kenwood VR6050
Hey 👋 have a question now all my apps are on the tv is there anyway to just have surround sound to the tv
@@ReviewKingHQ with surround sound just to the tv
How do I set up if I have my old speakers hooked into a amplifier?
This worked on mine. Thanks.
How can I add a sound bar to this setup?
Do you already have the receiver? The sound bar would require its own HDMI port. The device needs an HDMI cable from your TV/HDMI sound output into to the device, then red and white cable from the device into old style receiver Red and White Inputs.
Hello will this work if I just want to use the tv apps like UA-cam Netflix to get surround sound through my old receiver ?
It looks like it will. HDMI from TV into Device, red and white into receiver.
what if the old receiver does not have HDMI? I want to play the new TV with HDMI to the old receiver. What do I need? please help
He tells you in the video what to purchase
What RCA jack in the back of the radio are you gonna put it on because I have tons?
Would it work for 2 channel receivers
