Mr. Knoll you are a true legend with a great idea. Your product is excelent and I have only had Powerslide skates in my career. Thank you for making this possible for me.
Matthias Thank you for everything you’ve done, are doing and will do for skating. I’ve had so much fun and excitement from all the innovations over the years that I’ve been lucky enough to skate!
YOU GUYS ARE ON OF BOOSTERS FOR IN-LINE SKATING MODE , ...BUT this year I think powerslide has done a lot of remarkable things. I don't know if it will be an announcement that there will be big growth for inline skating 2025 , but you have always been at the top of the brands. I would like to congratulate them mainly because they are placing more confidence in the athletes, paying more and there being more skates, promodels, new professionals, etc., combining almost all the disciplines that exist linked to inline skating. you have been forcing other brands not to give up basically, MANY CONGRATULATIONS CONTINUE... more 30y ...
Thank you, Matthias, for putting your money where your mouth is and providing some of the greatest toys beneath our feet that this culture/industry has every seen
That was lovely. So informative, like hidden stars who have made it all evolve to what it is now. Amazing doc. Would love see more of things like this.
I have a garage full of powerslide skates. My favorite brand! They are innovative although not every "innovation" has always been successful. Just purchased the Powerslide Swell Carbon 125. It reflects Powerslides committment to innovation. I havent seen much on this skate but hope to place a review later.
I haven't even watched this yet, just turned it on. I will say this though, Matthias kept "aggressive" going in a lot of ways (and still does) during times when it looked very bleak. He went above and beyond because he cares.
I'll also call it Up Side Down, I agree it does sound cooler than Universal Skate Design. Up Side Down brings the essence of how cool and street the brand was.
@CritCommanda, I've experienced lots of different defects unfortunately. I'm on my 11th pair of PS as I have a few pairs myself and bought them for family too. I haven't used FR so can't recommend them from experience, but certainly don't recommend PS either. It's a shame because the design is great but both quality control and after sale service are shocking. Some of the defects have been; Frame casting defects - bearing faces with material missing, extra material in screw holes preventing adjustment; Incorrect spacing on machine finished frames - excessive clearances resulting in significant bending of the frames when axles are tightened; assembly defects - boot pivot bolts that are stripped or cross threaded, sharp metal edges damaging the liner. I've also seen the pivot nut stripped a circle in the plastic, and the metal teeth stripped from the nut; liner defects and damaged inner soles. If only they had half descent customer service and were willing to resolve issues, I'd stay with them. Sadly I'd suggest any other brand.
I don't know why but 100% agree. I had cuff bolt issues too. Terrible QC and after sale service. Don't bother reporting issues to the powerslide website if you didn't buy direct from them it's basically tough luck. I have a set of SUV frames where two of the wheels float around on the bearings because there is no bearing recess in the wheel! Seriously. Stinks of ruthless management and cost cutting.
@@redmondwebster2920 @TrueBlueYZ Thanks for the info, it confirms what I thought about companies that try to consolidate their industry and supply chain and scrub the internet of third-party reviews. Like how Luxottica did with sunglasses. I loathe when a company relies on protectionist measures instead of putting out the best product possible. You saved me from making a very expensive bad purchase. They probably moved all production to whatever factory in China at some point and only design the product in-house.
@@TrueBlueYZ 11 pairs?! Was there a redeeming quality that made you go back everytime? And was the quality always bad or did it degrade over time? I'm contemplating PS only for the trinity frame, whether its really an improvement or not.
I am big Powerslide fan so this was a great watch. The history is so interesting especially with USD so pivotal in the beginning of the company. TY Matthias and the team for all you do for the sport and to another 30+ years of skating! 🛼❤
We love you Matthias ❤ thank you for everything you did and do for me and everyone else with the same passion for skating🏆
almost no other inline company get such a history. Love the passion inside this. Congratulation

Legend. Such docs needed for the community. We need people to be proud of such as Pro skaters, inlineskating entreprenuers, influencers etc.
Nice biography. I'm going to buy my second pair of Powerslides skates in a few days. Now gotta go do my skating workout. 😀

They have never been afraid to try to innovate, that says a lot.

I remember powerslide back in the days.
He had small ugly ass ad's at inline skate mag.
How time had evolved! ❤🎉

Why is PS quality control so bad!?
I've heard the same elsewhere online. Can you elaborate on your experience with PS skates? I'm currently deciding between a pair of FR and a PS pair.
