You have helped inspire me to start collecting "vintage USA made folding knives" Love to have me an old Schrade Walden 821 or 820 which ever that one was.............
Man. I was itching for you to pick up the Mother of Pearl, and you made it the last one. Better late than never, as they say😊. Thanks for the talk, you made a good argument.
I like the old knives, shrade Walden ,camillus, even very old imperial knives are beautiful old bone and well made .l go knife auctions couple times a year and have gotten bargains..I once picked up a pre ‘39 Remington equal end in mint for 40 bucks . Seems crazy to me but lots of men under 40 believe that a knife that will rust is no good and they only want the one hand snap open like Sypderco. And Benchmade . Thanks btw I did watch your vid on celluloid
I was doing a search for a Schrade video I saw and this older video of yours showed up. Guess I need to spend a day going through all your videos. I have the Schrade Walden version of that E. Weck whittler. That 836 whittler is one of my all time favorite Schrade knives 😊 great video and some nice knives !!!!
But, then I might miss what I call the split offs. Such as Craftman, Snap-on, early Bucks, all made by some of my favorite knife companies. I also might miss discovering something new which is always 👌 To be really honest, I enjoy turning on some blues and watching videos. For me it is relaxing and I learn new things that way. Will be showing a Schrade every Sunday since I have picked up some nice ones lately 😌
I just picked up a pre 1973 Schrade Walden 861 and am completely blown away by the quality of the knife and how keen the edge got! The price of these knives are criminally low for what you are getting.
Exactly. Schrade Walden knives are sleepers. They're undervalued, underrated, and under supported. I still don't think they're as good as the Case's but man they are close.
Schrade U.S.A. knives are my favorite knives to collect. They have a very wide selection of patterns. I like to find the Special Factoy Order (SFO) variants. These are standard patterns that have non-standard bolsters and/or covers and/or blade engravings. There are also the scrimshaw variants. Ebay is awash in 1970-80s Schrades that (with some judicious buying) can be had at very reasonable prices. The value of the U.S.A. produced knives are gonna do nothing but increase.
Schrade Walden produced some Limited edition knives that had that tang stamp. The Jim Bowie had JB1 USA below it. The Minute Man series had MM the number 1-3 USA below. There may be others but that's all I'm aware of. Hope that helps you out.
Knife collecting or collecting things that interest you to me has little to do with what others think is of importance. It is what you enjoy and like doing. Things do not need value or popularity for you to enjoy. The loud music in your introduction scares birds.🤨

I enjoy collecting Schrade knives both for the nostalgia, and affordability my friend:)
The open stock knives are really nice. It's fun when you don't have to pay a fortune .
