Girl I cannot get enough of your content. I am just starting calisthenics and I have to tell you you are an amazing inspiration. I watch even the videos I know I can't do yet just because you motivate me to keep going and remember my goals. For now I am focusing on improving overall mobility, getting my front splits again(I could do them a few years ago) and improving form on my push ups as well as grip strength so I can, hopefully, start learning how to pull up. Keep the content coming because it means a lot for us who are so intimidated by starting calisthenics and embarassed feeling afraid of failing. Thank you for all your work ❤️

There’s one question that really has put me in a hardcore dilemma though and is interfering my consistency greatly. 1. Is it necessary to weight train to make progress in calisthenics? ( i am a 20 year old girl and a complete beginner at calisthenics, never been to the gym to weight train before) 2. How did you start?? Could you make a video on that, like where did you start calisthenics? Also did you hybrid train?? Did you start with the traditional gym and weight training? Or something like yoga and then aggressive forms of it to then doing calisthenics?? PS. i did so much reading on it online but nothing came in handy and i am really in the most confused state of mind when it comes to weight training
Thank you 1. If you are interested in calisthenics, I would train for calisthenics specifically. If you already weight train and have a passion for it, then yes you can combine the two. If you don't do either right now, then I wouldn't make things more complicated on yourself by starting two different disciplines at the same time...it doesn't really make much sense to do it that way. 2. You could check out some of my other videos where I talk about my journey and what I recommend doing differently. Or you could read about it on summerfunfitness.com, I have tons of free advice as well as details about my own training on there. Essentially, I went to the gym because I knew you needed to in order to be healthy. I didn't know what to do, so I tried out different things. At one point, I was doing a general bro split as those workouts were easy to find on pinterest and bodybuilding.com. I thought that the only options for training as an adult were general weight lifting or HIIT training. I experimented with pole fitness, climbing, long boarding, rollerskating, acro yoga..etc in an effort to find a way of staying active that wasn't just focused on aesthetics. I eventually discovered that you can teach yourself flexibility and "gymnastics skills" (it was actually calisthenics but I didn't have that knowledge at the time)" as an adult - that you didn't have to be in gymnastics as a kid to learn how to do it. I realized I could become an athlete like I had always dreamed of. So, I devoted myself to learning how to be an athlete through calisthenics and now here we are. Did you have any injuries during your Calisthenics journey? I'm asking because I want to avoid them. That's why I don't lift weights and only do Calisthenics. If my body aches (even with muscle aches, I'm careful), I pause until I feel no pain (sometimes a week no training). My progress is still good because of my consistency, but would be interesting to hear your take.
I haven't gotten injured. I work on my mobility a lot and always warm up and cool down. I'm also not in a rush at all, so I don't push my tendons if they're feeling well worked.
I am whole food plant based :) I haven't taken any protein powders or preworkouts in years. For vitamins, I cycle through magnesium, d3k2, b12, a plant omega that contains both DHA and EPA and a greens powder if I don't eat enough greens that day.

i always wonder who believes in those claims. it took me 5 years and i still dont have it every day XD
some of these stretches are from classic indian yogic practice called surya namaskaras.
