  • Ice Fishing Competition Challenge between two brothers riding Polaris RMK KHAOS Snow Machines In Montana for the MOST SPECIES Possible. WHO WILL WIN?
It is amazing how many lakes down there have these lake trout in them. I'm used to them inhabiting large lakes that are very deep. Down in Montana with the deep mountain lakes they often show up is quite small lakes. In surprisingly great numbers. These lakes are quite productive, and the main forage seems to be perch minnows.
Join us as we hit a lake full of all sort of fish, but the predominant targets are YELLOW PERCH and LAKE TROUT. We will see if there will be any tie breaking fish that shows up towards the end of the video.
Perch are not native, but they are happily taken by most species in the lakes as a forage fish.
My brother and I took the Snowmobiles into an off the beaten path lake looking for perch and we each caught a couple lake trout while fishing for perch. My brother also hammered the biggest perch of the day again. He was right that he does seem to find the biggest fish somehow.
One of the lake trout I caught was in about 10 feet of water and the other shockingly was only about 2 feet deep over a rocky underwater point. That was quite startling when it came by. Unfortunately the battery was dead right at that point.
Hope you enjoy this Adventure Video through the North West Montana area, see some beautiful country, a few challenges and catch a few nice fish.
Thanks for watching and coming along.

Where I am from gaff's and gaffing fish are Illegal in Canada and I do not think gaffing fish that you plan to release is an ethical practice. I've been fishing my whole life without one and don't plan on using one now.

Yeah certainly is. That first lake trout smashed it right as I was dropping the first like. Had the like in the water 10 seconds and BOOM. We weren't even ready for it. They are chasing little perch, so maybe he saw this thing dropping down and figured... treat time.

    nice video.
those sleds got you out there.
and back with some issues, but what a great lake to fish
I'm hitting up pigeon lake March 1 2 and 3.
    to fill my tag's.
I know about the sunken island 🏝 in the middle. and how to slam the walleye.
any tips on perch and whitefish?
I won't ask for spots lol, and I have caught perch there. I'd like to nail some perch lol, and that spot that has been closed for fishing for years is open now. I will go check out that area. keep on posting these videos, I always enjoy them

My uncle was out on Pigeon Yesterday with Rob and they filled their tags. The walleye look fat this year. Also got a nice pike 6.5 pounds. For whites go to the middle of the lake like 26 to 30 feet deep and fish half way down with three wire worms all 1
5 feet apart on your line. Yellow or yellow/ orange wrap. And just stationary Jaw jacker set to lightest setting. For perch I have never caught a perch in pigeon lake before. I don't think there are very many at all.

      @TheFishingDoctorsAdventures thank you.
      I've caught perch there.
2 fow, but only little guy's.
it's the only lake that I've seen a size restriction on perch, 5 over 25 cm lol.
for white fish, middle of water column. but does it matter if the bottom is muddy, or sandy
