The lakers on Lake Superior when it freezes are nuts. My buddies and I will fish 60-80ft. We've had so many fly up 20-40ft up the column to grab a tube or bucktail. It never gets old
Stayed at Viking last January. Paul and Matt were fantastic. Food was fantastic. Cabin was fantastic and the fishing was lights out on Athapap and Second Cranberry despite the -35 Temps for 5 days straight.
Master Jay Siemens back at it on the ice!! Looks like a wicked place to go ice fishing for lakers - I need to make my way over to MAnitoba for some ice fishing!
You can tell last years videos by the Ice, yes. But also by the visible look of exhaustion on Jays face. By the end of ice fishing I think we’re all ready for the boat.
Hey Jay, how do you keep your camera batteries from dying in the cold? My Sony and Panasonic batteries are dead by the time I get out in the field for duck hunts or before I can get my hut up for ice fishing. Even if I keep the battery in my jacket pocket or in my chest pocket.
I have personally lost 2 rods (Laker fishing, and walleye fishing) when l left my rod on the ice to go assist a friend with his fish and my friend lost his when he left his to assist me land a laker. Ironically all of those rods were recovered in over 70' of water. I typically use a canvas for fold up chair so now I put the rod in the legs to keep the reel locked in or on my snowmobile, place my rod on other side of sled from the hole. Just saying!
That was definitely a good morning in Laker fishing for you even though you didn't catch a whole bunch yourself the whole group did real good. I'm excited for Laker fishing just need a little more snow here in Colorado for my honey hole
That must be sweet catchin lakers thru the ice that "shallow"! In Wisconsin theres only like 3 lakes we can legally ice fish lakers and its all 100 feet + ... got a nice one last year fishing 160' of water... its a fun fight but man itd be nice shallower!!!
@@evansanford7378 if you’re just buying a new kit, I’d go with the 34. If you already had the 32, I wouldn’t think it’s worth upgrading! Both are fantastic units and will more than likely be an upgrade!
For those of us looking to get into live imaging, the discounted lvs 32 systems are now 1299.99 Canadian. The lvs 34 is 2199. Would you still opt for the lvs 34, do the improvements warrant that kind of price difference? I've watched your comparison just wondering how you feel given the large price differences now.
Sure is nice though not shredding the fishes mouth when you are releasing it! Evens the playing field for the fish too since our electronics are getting so good!
Lake Trout us NOT a trout. A trout is a trout. And a CHAR is a char, what u call a lake trout is a char not a trout. In Europe lake trout is called The Canadian Char
@@goodbyemr.anderson5065 LOl, I could afford multiple livescopes. I do VERY well financially but nice comeback though👍. Just have the knowledge to catch without it. Obviously you don't🤣
Here in Finland we have far less gear when we go ice fishing but one essential piece of gear is something to sit on.
😂
Oh man!! I can't wait for LAKE TROUT!!!
Clayton, you get so excited when you hook 🪝 up 🎣 Love it🤘 me too🤷♀️😊
Laker fishing is of the most fun!

Always entertaining...my wife is FINALLY watching you and Clayton with me!! Finally!
Jay n Brando are killing the videos this year

The bots are hitting up your channel HARD Jay!! Everytime I post a remark on any of your videos they’re all over my comments!
@@frontierfishingwithRyanMacD They are doing it to everybody 😡 I've been deleting and reporting to youtube

Fishing is all pain and glory mixed together 😆
Can’t wait!!! Great video!!
That live scope is the trick!
Watching in Nebraska. Waiting on the ice and learning from you Jay. Keep it up man.
The Live Scope: A blessing and a curse
Your so lucky to be ice fishing, poor Saskatchewan lakes not frozen yet...
Jay, what bags do you have that you keep your plastics and other tackle in?
Pitching up my livescope plus today can't wait for hard water. Do you have a settings video?
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family 🤘❤
hows the cabin on lake f the woods coming around Jay?
Good info man. I am looking for more lakers this year for sure
Let’s go hard water video!
Great place to go. Loved our trip there. Great owners.
Used the Headspinner on The Red today - they produced. Love the action on them.
I'm overdue for a way-up-north laker trip. Great video Jay.
Any chance you’d share what your settings are?
Where do you find your high pound test ice fluorocarbon at? The heaviest I can ever find is 8lb.

Not big on the new handle design on the new ION...bought the G2 last year....it's awesome...i'm sure the new one is just as good or better.
About time for hard water videos
I saw that you a Sam are on the BuddyFlex Box. Just thought that was cool to see when I was at Tractor Supply.
Love it!
Do you have a method for chumming in deeper water ?
Jay quick question 🙋♂️ I bought the lvs34 plus but it’s not the lvs34-IF transducer version. Are there any concerns using the lvs34 ice fishing?
You’re fine with the normal lvs34! The cord just won’t be as flexible in the cold.
@ thank you for the quick response. Would you use a cord saver on it. Loving the outpost series‼️
more laker vids Jay! Great vid man
Jay, what kind of meat are you going those jigs with?
What kind of hat you have for your go pro?

What is the perfect eater size lake trout.
I've never targeted lakers before, but your videos convinced me to give em a shot this year on simcoe.
you can chum in canada?
Is it really worth it to upgrade to lv34?
Or which should I get if I buy this year? Scheels has both kits 500 off (I have none of the pieces)

I recommend it
Did you get rid of your old ducer yet ? Can I buy it if it’s still good ?
How much do they weigh Jay
unfortunately here in PS GB dosnt freeze until February our season is short but it is fun, great video that was good action.
Was this this season or last?
What kind of transducer holder is that!!!!!
Run & gun boo ya!
I'm jealous
Its way to cold to be fishing there. Wait till spring....Go to Walmart if you need fish now.
We dont lose fish using barbless hooks...says every Canadian fisherman.
Sure is nice though not shredding the fishes mouth when you are releasing it! Evens the playing field for the fish too since our electronics are getting so good!
Not everywhere in Canada my friend.
I can lose fish on both edo
im from ontario, we use barbed hooks here.
I think that's just Manitoba lol
Let's go !
Wish I had lake trout in my area
Looks like the lake trout are spawned out pretty skinny.
Wild that can use live bait but you can chum. In Maine it’s the complete opposite
Jay, your affiliate links aren’t working! Trying to help you out and buy new gear!
Go the links fixed! Thanks
Nice!
🔥🔥
Jay just alerting you that you have somebody using your identity for your free giveaway that you had on your live night.
FIRST!???
👌🏻
Maybe you can hire Aaron to be your camera man now.
Those fish where so skinny
🤘🖖🎄
Sorry jay can’t watch your videos till game of inches is complete for me.
Wants to cash in on the momentum 🤔
Dude with all the fancy gear catching fewer fish 😂. Money can’t buy everything folks.

Why can’t you catch fish without livescope? Guess it’s for the intermediate type.
Livescope= Cheating
Don't be mad just because you can't afford one.
