sir, did you tweak the amp-sim bias inside mg-30?
MG-30 uses TSAC-2K with power amp BIAS tweaking algorithm, MG-400 uses TSAC-HD algorithm ( same as MG-300). That's the main difference.

Excellent review. Interesting and curious conclusion about the MG400 sounding "better" & "mid-rangy" even when the MG30 sounds more "tube-like" & "scooped", according to you.
In this pedalboard mg400 can I use 2 or 3 Dist or Overdrives in the same preset? like in the mg30?
MG-400 new firmware v2.1.1 lets you use 4 distortions if you like !

Could you get decent tones out of the mesa clone? I had no luck even with my own irs. Literally every other amp sounded outstanding.

I think mg 400 is good for metal rythm and mg 30 is good for solo
Perdón pero voy comentar en castellano para no sumar confusión. Prefiero el sonido de la 400. En las rítmicas se lo siente mucho más pesado, más real, sin medios tan feos. Pensé que la 30 iba a ser muy superior pero no.
Sabes que yo siento exactamente lo mismo, ví muchos videos comparandolas y la 400 suena bastante mejor, más real y no tan sientetico!
El pecado mayor de la MG 400 es que no fue creada con la misma forma de la MG 30, porque si la hubieran puesto con el aspecto de la MG 30 uyyyyyy eso seria una locura pero no me gusto ese asepcto me refiero en lo estetico, en sonido como toda pedalera multiefectos hay que dedicarle para hacer que suene muy bien

The over drive any good is the blues driver. Wouldn't recommend these units to anyone. Maybe a 10 year old child

i think that the stock presets and i.r's really suck... HOWEVER... i have had my MG30 for almost 2 years, and i have downloaded/created several AMAZING tones. I purely view it as an i.r loader now. In my opinion, it is just a chinese knockoff of the axefx, as it uses the same algorithms (if you will) to get the sound. My buddy has the Axe-fx, and we side by side them all the time with my custom presets and i.r's, and we are always amazed at how identical you can get the MG30 to sound. But yeah.. for someone who isnt going to put in the time looking for i.r's and patches, and really tinker with it to get a good sound, i can see where you are coming from. Feel free to look at my channel, and the video i have with my classic vibe telecaster is purely a custom i.r. i made on the mg30 and recorded directly into my pc with. Actually, my last few guitar vids have been with the mg30 unless otherwise noted.

Ufff yo escucho desde los típicos heavy Metal Clasico, pasando por Power Metal y Death Metal... y si creo que es Metal Puro... Claro, no suena a Dio o a Ozzy, pero claro que es puro metal... Hay momentos que recuerda, si hablamos de clásicos, a algunos sonidos del PainKiller y en otro momento a Arch Enemy... Bueno, es solo mi opinión...
