Okay...so I didn't have the candellila oil but I did have beeswax. I used 1/2 the amount (because I think it's thicker than the candellila) and followed the recipe w everything else & I didn't havr ess oil but it smells just fine w/o it. Just a light kind of nothing scent. I tried it on myself first to make sure it doesn't go white & crusty before trying it on my daughter's. So far so good. Best part is it definitely does NOT have my edges screaming! So far so good.
Okay...so it's a day later. My edges are very fine (I'm a very short natural cut at 1/8" guard) so there wasn't much to hold, but I try everything on myself before my daughters hair (she's at 14" majority 4c at her crown & front). If it's a mess with mine, it's not much to wash out/fix. But for her it's a nightmare if I have to work it out. (I dabbed a little Murray's gel lock on the toothbrush because it's water soluble & isn't sticky & doesn't flake. I use the smallest amt mixed w vit e oil when I retwist her hair). The Murray's gave it a little more hold w/o melting more wax. I can see starting to tame her edges nicely w this. Still no flaking. Thank you!
If the heat is too high, it'll mess with the properties of the essential oils. I always wait until it cools down to 140-150. I use the same temperature when making soaps. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
I just noticed the ingredients. Those are the same ingredients that I used for hair growth oil minus the wax. I do 50/50 of the oils and 6 drops per ounce of drops. I make lotion bars, and use beeswax.

This ratio provides the right amount of hold for me, but you may need to add more wax if we have different hair textures. You can take the batch you’ve already made add place it back in a double boiler along with an additional teaspoon or tablespoon of wax depending on how much you think you need.

Thanks for the information. I'm looking for a diy that will hold down. Guess I'll have to continue looking.
Can you use paraffin wax beads if that’s the only wax you have
Does heat make olive oil useless ?
Depends on how hot it gets
Does this have strong hold for thick hair and does it flake?
No flaking! It really does depend from person to person on how long it holds!
@@LAurenrdaniels okay thank you

6 months or so!
@@LAurenrdaniels thank you so much! I was worried lol but you put me at ease❤️
It doesn’t have any hold

Can you use any wax? :)
You can - the ratios may be different for other waxes since they are all a bit different
@@LAurenrdaniels thank you! 🤗
Does it hold though?
Depends on your hair texture, but it holds for me!
Hi does it need preservative, also can one sell this.
No preservative needed. I can't see why not!
fascinating
This doent hold anything
