- Our STEAMtastic Student-Nelly wanted to learn how to make “edge control.” Watch and learn the basics of making hair gel and edge control.
Measurement are below:
1 cup of Distilled Water
1/4 cup Flaxseed Gel
1/4 cup Castor Oil
1/8 cup Raw Honey
1/8 cup Glycerin
1/2 tsp Xanthan Gum
1.25g of phenonip preservative
10-20 Drops Fragrance (optional)
Jar for storage
Hand Whisk or Immersion Blender.
To get rid of clumps of Xanthan gum, it is better to use a whisk.

Mix your Xanthan gum with glycerin before you add it to your flaxseed gel for no clumps.
Thank you for this information
As I was watching I said the same thing .. good eye
Jus what ive been looking for.thanks alot.
This was such a nice project. It would be nice to be able to adapt it for a high school science lab lesson because you could teach many lessons from it such as an introduction to the scientific method, weighing etiquette, properties of mixtures, and a host of other things with this one simple project. However because there are no measurements provided for a lot of the ingredients like the xanthan gum, it is impossible without a lot more trial and error than many a teacher has time for. I would like to see more content that science teachers can adapt to their classrooms...
Thanks for your feedback and watching our video.
This is amazing 😍love ur curly hair, keep up
Thank you🙂
I’ll be trying this! Thanks 😊
Hi love this ! Thank up but how much is a little bit of the gum ? I caught the rest of the measurements

I see the ingredients but where are the measurements?
Hello… you mentioned phenylnip? But it was not on your list of ingredients
It is listed under ingredients. Thank you.
How much of the preservative? I don't see that in the recipe
1.25g based on the amount used in the video
Can you provide a list of ingredients and measurements, please and thank you.
Hi, the materials are listed at the beginning of the video. 🙂
How do you keep the xanthan gum from clumping?
mix the xanthan gum in the glycerin first
What is the measurements for the flaxseeds?
Hi, thanks for watching. The measurement for the flaxseeds are in the description.
Hi, great video! The amount of Phenol is not in the description box -- how much did you use?
We used 1-2 milliliter of phenonip.
Nice
Thank you🙂
Are those natural preservatives? Can they work for an hair product? Is it considered organic, how long does it last?
Which item(s) are you referring to as a natural preservative? Phenonip is the only preservative in the video. We are not sure if it can work for any hair product because we are not a licensed chemically tested company, nor have we tested different types of hairs.
Based on research most organic products last 2-3 weeks without added preservative.
We hope this was helpful. See you soon🙂
@@s.e.e.kfoundationinc.-maki8153 it does, thank you.
