I love the EPS Classic. First sampler I ever owned, got it when I was 17 in 1993 after months of flipping burgers. Earned every penny I paid for it. I know the 16+ has effects and resampling, but the EPS looks so much cooler and just has that dusted sound.
This is dope Homie. Props. I’ve been making beats for just over a decade with my EPS classic like this one and I love it. Only sampler I’ve ever had. Thought about upgrading to the ASR10 but just kept pluggin away with this old beast of a sampler. Nice vid. Peace from Canada.🔊🔥🎹🔥🔊🔥🤌🏼
Yeah it’s a nice crunchy unit. I sold mine because I had been promised a better storage option in the form of a SCSI2SD but the seller never sorted it out. I made some nice tracks with it but couldn’t save anything so it had to go. Great vintage machine though 👊
I used to use a Dr 660 drum machine to trigger my eps and build patterns with the drum machine sequencer. It was like having an mpc and actual drum machine engine to layer behind the samples
I glad I’ve found this dope stuff my man. I have an EPS 16 plus and a ASR X pro watched your videos and I’m not compelled to midi them together each machine is special on it’s own
Yes I think if you are hoping to do more than just process sounds it can get frustrating. These machines sound great but using them as workstations isn’t that practical these days from a time perspective. My Maschine Plus and Polyend Tracker both have excellent lofi processing abilities, it’s easy to get caught up in the nostalgia and romance of owning vintage gear but sometimes it’s just impractical.
@@TUBEDIGGA I have an st224, sp202, & sp505 I can sample them in my mpc1 & create lofi keygroups, but I was thinking the mirage might sound better & be faster. Is it wishful thinking?
@@GKnightent Hi, thanks! Chopping is easy and convenient on most Ensoniqs as it uses the sample sample without using more ram. You just tell it where you want each ‘copy’ of the sample to start from. Basically the same sample appears on multiple keys on one track with different start points.
Yo bro how what's the secret behind sequencing so smoothly? My eps doesn't seem to loop a sequence smooth enough after recording. Theres always awkward silence after the last bar before it resets to bar 1. Dope beat BTW, love the Jackson 5 sample. Im prolly whack at it 😂 I haven't used it on years and have always used the Midi for sequencing on separate units. Peace.
I don't have the EPS any more but just like any sequencer, you have to quantise/time correct and also make sure your sample start points and pitch/speed are precise. I think on the EPS you can truncate the sequence to an exact amount of beats or bars or you can set up the amount of time prior to sequencing. I can't remember the exact facilities the EPS has so that's all I can suggest for now.
@@TUBEDIGGA word. I haven't figured out how to quantize yet, I always thought it was in the sequence menu when you created a new sequence. I've always set the sequence to 1/16, and done 4/4 bars. But I'll keep trying. And see if I can figure out how to truncTe the sequence itself. My samples/instruments are always on point when it comes to looping. Its just always that last peace of the sequence where it gets off beat. Thanks for the reply, peace.
Thanks, glad you didn’t like it 😂. No I get you, I should have used the vocals much more sparingly. I’m not precious about the track, it was just a result of messing around when I first got the EPS to see how it worked (which is long gone now).

I'm supposed to be getting one of these tomorrow and I'm HYPED MAN. This beat rips too.
best sampler ever made

The DR660 was my first drum machine, used to lose myself in it for hours as it was all I had :)
Why?
Yes kids this is Lo-fi
Ok. So THIS machine is what we have in common. I was wondering. My dad purchased EPS 16+ in 1991 and died in 1992. What an awesome device.
So I'm not the only one who's EPS makes horrible pops when switching the power. 😄
Dope stuff!
nawnmine too hahah
Came up on an EPSm rack last year.. love this thing!
Dope video man! Like the beat! 💥💥

Eps classic is way more merky than the eps 16
I loved my EPS
Damn, need more EPS tracks
Amazing work
Sounds dirty as hell..
Cool stuff...
Ima throwback (sample) producer so this is music to my 🦻s. Lol Fire 🔥..p.s it's in the corner lol
Looove it!
I've been looking at the mirage, but seems like it might be too time consuming for me to make beats with... BUT the rewards may be worth the effort.

I would suggest at least going with the EPS, the mirage is way too primitive

This video is a gem how did you chop a sample on the EPS classic

@TUBEDIGGA i actually figured it out thanks hard to explain it though but easy to do
Mad dope

dope beat 🔥🔥🔥🔥can u do a tutorial on how to chop sample in the eps?
Not now unfortunately. I sold it recently as I couldn’t find a decent storage solution for it.
Hello please I want the disk
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love your videos bro. Can I ask what vocal sample you used?
Jackson 5, Got to Be there: ua-cam.com/video/270Fr-B4ad0/v-deo.html
don't forget to truncate those samples.... save your memory!
Exact, en vergeet niet om je reet af te vegen.
Do you use the midi'd up with the new MPCs?
No I haven’t used it with my MPC at all. Maybe as a controller at some point as I like the size and feel of the keys.
I'll never sell my EPS classic.
Dirty! 😤
Dope track dude. The track would be better without the vocals tho
