@@fayzesalimchoucair2131 Carbs are fine. I consume them daily. But for longevity/health I don't think I've found anything that gives an edge quite like intermittent fasting. I eat 2 meals a day in a 8 hour window and I feel my best (physically AND mentally) this way. It feels natural and without too much forcing either. Whenever I deviate and try to "bulk up" by eating more frequently I always pay with extra fat gain and sluggish mentals and sleepiness. At first it was not an issue for me and I was drinking 4 cups a day (2 cups with each meal). When I was consuming yogurt after dinner it stunted any ill effects of the milk and I had perfect digestion actually leaning toward the side of constipation. But now I don't eat yogurt anymore, and I am leaning on the side of soft stool if I consume milk. I dropped milk and poof the soft stool is gone my digestion is rock solid again. Fun interview. Started Dr Paul’s animal based diet in April using foods only on the grocery list, I was having beef, organ capsules, some berries, avocados, apples, olives, dates and cucumber … about 50 to 100 carbs per day. I felt good, my mood issues resolved so I decided to go full carnivore. Boy, that messed me up about a month into it … blood sugar swings and possible electrolytes issues. I believe the blood sugar was the thing for me … I need to get some carbs at each meal to keep my blood sugar stable. I may try full carnivore again but came off SAD with refined carbs etc. Side note - my brother is a scientist, the smart guy in the family, but he said it is okay to go low carb but not fully no carb … consider this, true we may have been no carb tens of thousands of years ago; however, human has evolved a bit on carbs over the last thousands of year … some may need that little carb, just a thought! And I find it interested my MMA idol did eat bananas and berries, some good carb foods.
I've been low carb over 2 years. Had to take magnesium and salt food liberally, cuz when you dump processed foods you are dumping all the salt in it. And I also use NuSalt for potassium.
There are a lot of people that have been doing 0 carb for more than a decade, carbohydrates are not necessary, you can have them in moderation if you want and are metabolically healthy.
Do what works for you. This is why Paul's book has 5 different tiers of a Carnivore Diet. Tier 1 being "Carnivore-ISH." Some do well with zero carbs and some don't
I'm a believer in the carnivore diet, but I am curious as to how you would overcome hydrogen sulphide SIBO? Cystiene and methionine from amino acids get reduced to hydrogen sulphide, and makes digestive problems in some people much worse. I have had digestive problems for 10 years and carnivore massively improved them for about a month. After that, it made them worse, depending on the type and volume of protein I was eating.
I think the best results occur when one goes full carnivore and not allow any fruits honey or avocados. 100 % meat heals and the affect amazing. Especially when one can afford bone broths already made organ meat supplements and steaks daily. When one is allowed to feed the sugar with 🍌bananas and other sweet fruit that affect gut and brain the results are less dramatic. And love GSP, what a beautiful spirit. The people of Quebec are beautiful people
I do seasonal strict carnivore. The past two winters, I ate not plant foods. Then I'll selectively eat some plant foods the rest of the year. But even then, it's rather limited. It's partly an experiment. I'm trying to get the sense of how I feel with various foods. I'm thinking of going full carnivore again, maybe not waiting for winter. A bigger issue for me is whether dairy is a problem or not. I did have a milk allergy as a kid.
