He’s so friggin good. Digging the way he instinctively picks at different spots to influence the tone of his phrases. What an ear JD’s got. I think when your talking about players at this level it’s their ear that separates them from the pack. That’s why he sounds great on all these different demos. It doesn’t really matter what gear he’s playing, he’ll sound good on a Squire thru a Peavy solid state. HE’S really ‘making’ the tone!
I wasnt watching the screen when I heard the first notes of the intro... I thought "Oh my god, this has to be an original recording of BB or Freddie King, no way this could be the actual demo video!" Wow, THAT'S THE SOUND! Amazing!
@@justinlangley9529 T-bone didn't really bend and these are not Freddy licks. This is some Crown record era BB king stuff... But it should be said that you can tell that JD listened to a good bit of Anson Funderburgh. You boys need to do some homework.
This could have been like the Antibalas hoax when everyone thought for years that they were a newly discovered tapes from the 70's in Nigeria but were actually a bunch of white New Yorkers save for the singer. Top shelf, great dynamics and of course tone and phrasing.
@nikitikitano To be fair you were hearing 90% the amp here. You could have plugged a Chinese Sheraton in to that Fender and it would have sounded more or less the same.
I'd say those are the original mini's. I have a 66 Sheraton just like that only the sunburst is more of a tobacco burst & the mini's are exactly like that & amazing sounding. Those Sheratons with the mini humbuckers are a marriage made in heaven. Had mine since 1966. Those guitars are little known jewels.

That's the Freddie King sound all day long.
What I respect about JD is that he knows what that particular guitar (any guitar) he happens to be behind is suppose to sound like..
Great playing and great tone! 😊
The tone and styling is phenomenal!
Outstanding!
nice headstock

@@gabrielm.4554 Your kinda right. But all the blues guys copied each other. At least the people from the same era.
WOW sounds awesome!!!!!! I heard Otis Rush and Magic Sam played this guitar sometimes
When I grow up, I want to play like this cat here...
Buddy Ollie You can either grow up, or you can be a musician. Unfortunately( fortunately), you can't do both. 😎
Sick playing
Had no idea Sean Astin could play guitar like that. Damn.

Mo bb den da kang
Beautiful guitar in the hands of a ridiculous player.
My guess is that he meant "ridiculous" in a complimentary way. As in, "this guy is ridiculously good."
he definitely meant ridiculous in a good way, guys.
