Come join us for some of our favorite rides in the Black Hills that we like to ride during Sturgis Rally! While there's plenty more out there, these are some of our favorite things to see, and it makes for an incredible day ride with some amazing scenery and roads along the way!
In this series, we traveled to the Black Hills to show you what it's like without the rally going on! We got to experience the wide open roads of South Dakota, captured the history and perspectives of the locals along the way, and learned a ton in the process! The Black Hills have so much to offer year round, not just during the rally!
We're hopping on the Harleys and riding back out there in just a few days to make it to the 2022 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and can't wait to explore all of these roads again, but with thousands of fellow enthusiasts! We hope you guys have enjoyed the series so far!

ABOUT STURGIS MOTORCYCLE RALLY
The very first Sturgis motorcycle rally was held on August 14, 1938. The event was organized by the town’s motorcycle club called the Jackpine Gypsies who bought and developed large tracks, hill climbs and field areas where the rally would be held.
Today, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally continues to reap the support and attendance of both participants and motorcycle fans all over the United States and in some parts of the world.

I’ve only been to Sturgis once and that was pre rally, I had a blast riding and seeing all the attractions even went to Devils Tower. I couldn’t imagine trying to do what we did if the place was packed. That area is so beautiful!

i have been there during the rally and off rally time. i prefer off rally. no lines. no traffic. more relaxed. places to stay are easier to find

Fun fact: word buffalo is derived from the French "boeuf" a name given to bison when the french fur trappers working in the US in the early 1600's
so blame the french 😂... boeuf is french for beef or ox , bison is greek word for beef or ox ... depends what terminology you want to use!

Wife and I headed there over Labor Day. Any advice on places to stay. Excellent video. We’re really enjoying them.
Good stuff!! The Deadwood Mountain Grande was a great stay, we really enjoyed it! Very close to historic downtown as well, if you want to park the bikes and walk into town👍
@@2LaneLife I think we actually ended up at Deadwood Gulch Resort. Not a lot of availability, when booking. I have one question if I may. We have got the DJI mics with Lava hook ups. Haven’t used them yet. Are you recording straight into mic system or is the mic attached directly to a GoPro. Thanks again. Enjoyed the last episode.

Hey guys enjoy your trip, just spent 12 days with six friends riding across Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Idaho from Wisconsin, it’s sad to say but I must be getting old to many people at the rally for me
It was a great time!! This was filmed in May without the rally, but we just got home yesterday from our 3300 mile trip to Sturgis 2022 nd back. It's definitely a very different scene with and without the rally. Sounds like you had an incredible journey, thanks for sharing👍

Love riding in SD. Hope to go back someday. How do you get the motorcycle sound and limited wind noise? Having problems with that.
Always a good time riding through there! Some of it is recorded with the mics inside our helmet and some of it is sound design

Also, can't hardly ride one without riding the other, they're an easy loop!

The Deadwood Mountain Grande has a parking structure on site and is a great stay!

I was there the last week of July 2022, and at that time, only the vendors were starting to show up in Sturgis, and there were some motorcyclists in Deadwood, it was starting to ramp up. Finding lodging was already starting to get tough and go up in price per night. Supply and Demand.
You commented your traveling 125 mph. Is that an exaggeration? I can tell you're not doing 55-70. What are speed limits?

speed limits are 45-65 in most canyons out there but they vary
