Wonderful to see you really bonded and enjoying the heck out of your guitar. I swear there are certain guitars that a person is meant to keep....you've got your keeper :)
This is a very nice guitar. No wonder you don't want to sell it. My son has a Limited Edition Sandblasted Precision Bass in Crimson Red Transparent finish. It is definitely the nicest bass in his collection.
I’m also a fan of the smaller headstock. I just built a 1991 fender American standard using a 1991 American standard body in candy apple red and used a fender channel bound neck and all fender USA electronics and pickups. It’s really sweet.
Hi, just searched the 0093207-00 and voila: Pre-Wired Strat® Pickguard, Custom Shop Fat 50's SSS | Parts. Simply remove your old guard, solder the output jack and ground wires, screw in the new guard and you're ready to rock with pure Fender sound. $369.99 · In stock, just for the pickguard. Glad you enjoy that Strat, I prefer Lps as well, but I have one strat (squier actually), that I like so much and enjoy playing it. Take care.
I have a 2012 American Standard Deluxe strat..love that thing..I know it's just a guitar, had to improve a few things on it to make it work better-graph tech saddles basically, saves on strings. I just play the thing to make noises on it...it's a tool to me. I know people get excited about guitars and stuff..but they are just tools to help you express yourself. IMO..you guys will have your own opinions about it!
Once I restored an antique wine press from Italy for my boss, and have sandblasted plenty of other wood.. they must have finished it over just enough to prevent splinters. very unique look. and a color you can live with for sure..
It has nothing to do with the neck radius; but rather they were designed to bring the poles closer on the strings with the least magnetic output to even out the sound. Those are Custom 50's so they are the same design as the late 1950's pick ups with the staggered poles. Which is why they sound so incredible. I've got a Vintage Series '62 Reissue Strat built in 1982 with staggered poles pieces so I'm biased because I believe my Strat is one of the best sounding guitars ever made.
This 2014 Mexican strat has the ceramic pups with staggered poles. I had planned on replacing but I like them. I did get a warmoth neck with 7.25 radius
I really like this guitar! There’s a couple thing’s letting it down for me, unfortunately. The body looks excellent, the neck looks great. You’ve got Custom Shop vintage style pickups, with the modern wiring harness, which is a bit confusing really, but still nice… Then there’s the cheap trem block, micro-tilt… What a to ruin a great guitar! Honestly Trogly, it may increase the weight a closer to 8lb… But upgrade that trem, or at least the block! Edit: I can see why it was a hard sell. It’s the equivalent of a $900 guitar from Fender with a $1500+ price tag. I reckon you could get this shipped in China for around $500, including the pickup upgrade. It’s nowhere near a $3000 guitar, let alone $5000.
Now brother dont u understand the art of a selman if dont want to sell something price it crazy high and no one will try to buy it from you.. Haven't you heard that old time saying if it ain't broke then dont fix it... me myself I dont like relic jobs but to each their own. Have a good one
Not sure why you're crappin' all over the micro-tilt, as it is easier to deal with than shims. And quite frankly- a lot of people just don't get Fender trem systems. I find this mesmerizing because I've had a lot of different ones- and I can't really say any of them are bad if you know how they are supposed to work and you know how to set them (which really isn't hard, btw). Just my opinion, but I'll take them over the screwing around with a Floyd Rose any day. Of course, you probably think the Jazzmaster trem is a piece of junk too.
@@mcdingus5081 Micro-tilt may be easier, but leaves you with less contact. I, and a lot of others I might add, would rather have that wood on wood contact for better sustain. As with the trem, I’m not shitting on the Strat tremolo design at all. I’m saying the one this guitar is supplied with, is the equivalent of what you’d get on a $200 Chinese built copy. @@thomasbrock1215 He may be happy with the current tremolo. That’s completely fine. I personally have always found a full size block to be an upgrade… As do most people I know. I know Trogly is more of a Gibson expert than Fender, so the trem block size may be something he just didn’t pick up on. I personally would upgrade it for a full size block. This is all just my opinion though. When it comes to pricing, I’m just stating that I believe it’s way overpriced from Fender originally, that’s why it was probably a hard sell. Not only that, the prices on Reverb are going up, and someone on Trogly’s video may be tempted to buy the guitar from him for $5000… I would advice them to hold off on that. And if they want a guitar built exactly how they want, go to a 3rd party builder for the body, get yourself a neck and some hardware… You’ve got yourself your dream guitar for a lot less than the $5000 asking price here. There’s General Vintage Tone, MJT, SC Relics, Fraser, Smoke Tree Guitarworks, NGS Guitars, Crimson Guitars… the list goes on! If you want an amazing Strat body built to your spec, there’s so many great options out there! It’d work out a ton cheaper than this offering from Fender too!
Hey Austin! So Hermes music is actually a small local music store chain down in South Texas (Rio Grande Valley area). They have 3 locations, one of them is like right around the corner from me. It does not surprise me that that guitar sat around for so long. Not many people into more expensive gear down here.
Pretty cool guitar. The finish looks similar to a guitar a bought about 5 weeks ago from a retired professional musician/producer and recording studio owner Bobby Barth. His band was Axe. He joined blackfoot in 1984. I bought a custom shop Dean soltero from him. And two weeks ago i bought a Gibson Blueshawk from him also.

Austin, when I got it from Hermes it had the Schaller style Fender strap locks and only three trem springs. Just thought you'd like to know. Great review and thanks for the shout out! 👍
That actually looks like a deluxe model, the metallic looking decal and the two point bridge make that a dead give away. American Standards at the time still had the six point trem
American Standards have used two-point trems for decades. But the contoured heel and cast saddles are indicators that this is a Deluxe. The Am Standard used the stamped saddles.
I respect the hustle, every guitar that needs to turn a big profit is a “guys I’m not selling this unless you pay me way more than you should” guitar. Reverse psychology at its finest.
I know you are a Gibson man...but your INTO that strat. I would go as far as to say your a Fender man at heart. This was one of the best demos I have seen from you. Not in technical terms or anything like that, just you could tell you were feeling it.
"my stratocaster" says it all really. i really dig the multipiece body, combined with the sandblasting it adds to the whole driftwood assemblage aesthetic (see margaret mellis)
oh yeah, if i remember jim root jazzmaster has the same sandblasted finished in red, but i dont know if its available in the market right now. from what i know that is only made by fender for jim root only. he got,. i think two of those.
Around here there was a Hermies Music for many years. Wonder if it came from the one in Schenectady NY? They always had different stuff than the other places but weren’t the most pleasant to deal with when I shooed there.
It’s a Deluxe Stratocaster, which has been replaced by the Ultra. Professional Stratocasters replaced American Standards in 2016. So, the title of this video is not correct.
American deluxe. Deluxe alone implies Mexican made, while this is the USA equivalent. You had standard and American standard, just like you had deluxe and American deluxe. Personally, I think the deluxe line is the best value overall from Fender. They have premium, often USA parts, but are assembled in Mexico and therefore have a smaller price than one might originally assume based on specs alone.
I miss my 60th anniversary 1954 Strat replica. It had all the vintage appointments of a 54 Strat to the t. Best sounding, feeling, and looking Strat I’ve ever laid hands on. Kick myself every day for selling it.
I have been playing guitar for 40 years. I understand what it's like to become attached to a certain guitar. My number one is a 1980 Stratocaster. I would play this guitar and I would probably love it. I prefer the small headstock too. I own 31 guitars. I have a couple fenders with big headstocks, and a couple with a small headstocks. My number one has a small headstock. I prefer a small headstock to tell you the truth. Although it's not that important to me?..... I prefer to have a small headstock on my Stratocaster. I don't know why it's just the way that my brain is wired. One of my favorite guitars has a big headstock. But it's not my number one. My number one is wood grain with a tortoiseshell pickguard. Has a small headstock. It's what I became a good guitar player on. Maybe it's a type of mental attachment? Maybe I don't understand why? It really doesn't matter to me. I like all guitars and I collect them. But I prefer small headstocks on fenders even though I have many with big head stocks, and I have just as many with small head stocks.
Sometimes you just find a guitar that meshes perfectly with you. I’ve got an old LTD 400 I picked up for 275$ years ago. I don’t even know why I bought it. It was online so I didn’t get a chance to try it first. And I’ve got Gibson custom shop guitars and pretty expensive ESP’s . So I didn’t really need to buy a 300$ guitar. Lol. But it just seemed like a good deal. It’s an eclipse model with Floyd Rose and came with hardcase. I guess I figured I could probably sell it for a profit or something. But it’s still with me. Sits right next to my guitars that costs 20x more. Its just a great playing guitar and sounds absolutely wicked. Any time I feel like I should just sell it, I pick it up and play it and that feeling goes away quick. So it’s a keeper. Sometimes you just can’t put a price on certain things.
Wow《☆》Nice tones👍✔It's like driftwood that's been painted. I have a Squire blackout Strat with the same staggered pole peices & medium jumbo frets. It has great tones🏁It was a limited run from Georges Music in 2004🖖🤓🏈
Hi Austin, that guitar " Blue Jean Baby " defiantly has that vibe going on, I like it thanks for sharing it with us... When you said it it makes you want to play guitar I totally get it, I can relate to that grove big time. I've been out of town { the boarder sucks' and us tax payers are getting ripped off } lots of pics. Back home now wasn't able to tune in always on the move, missed your channel and sleep... great video... Randy, deep in the Michigan woods
Could it be the metallic look under the pick guard is shielding paint shining through the body color . It is anchored or grounded to the body. I'm betting shielded. I have noticed on some of the recent guitars I've purchased that the tone knobs even if they don't lock they are a bit stiffer than the volume knobs . Not so much on other older guitars. Even if that guitar would've been dark stained and finished I think it would be a definite keeper. Bought a used Ibanez exotic that was stained mostly dark and has 7 different woods in the body and neck along with abalone accents throughout and that iron label on the headstock. It's such a beautiful guitar that I don't play it to often except when I really want something different in my hands. I'd hate to put any wear on it. Even if I could afford to buy that guitar from you I wouldn't dare try. Everyone has that one or so guitar that just speaks to them.
Those sandblasted ones are cool. I have a red sandblasted Telecaster and my brother has a blue one. I've never seen one with the small headstock like that. Very cool. 👍

A beautiful guitar! Did they make Telecasters like that...and in green? ☘
I like the wood grain effect on my SG CM Black !
It's clear how much you like that thing from the playing demo. You were clearly in your zone. Great stuff!
Come on Trogly!
You should have busted out some ZZ TOP Blue Jeans Blues. 🤘
Beautiful guitar. Pretty sure that’s a USA Deluxe Stratocaster. The chrome Fender logo, contoured neck joint, polished saddles & abalone inlays are Deluxe features.
I respect the hustle, every guitar that needs to turn a big profit is a “guys I’m not selling this unless you pay me way more than you should” guitar. Reverse psychology at its finest.
13:35 wise words of Trogly wisdom !
Now that you've gone Sandblasted it's time to find the perfect Splattercaster
Oh man here we go! Been waiting on this one!!!
Just rewatched your recap Of all guitars yesterday. What an amazing guitar trog.
I know you are a Gibson man...but your INTO that strat. I would go as far as to say your a Fender man at heart. This was one of the best demos I have seen from you. Not in technical terms or anything like that, just you could tell you were feeling it.
Great guitar series and a good episode Trogly. Do you know about the Fender Rustic Ash series? I do own a Strat since 2013 and absolutely love it!
Yay, more Fenders!
Anything attached to the neck beauty is beautyfully unique axe
I LOVE Les Paul’s, but there’s also something special about a good Strat as well. This was probably some of your best playing trogly.
I believe this was the prototype for a Jay Leno signature model.
@@kidwajagstang I meant American Deluxe, not the Mexican version.
I miss my 60th anniversary 1954 Strat replica. It had all the vintage appointments of a 54 Strat to the t. Best sounding, feeling, and looking Strat I’ve ever laid hands on. Kick myself every day for selling it.
looks like a sandblasted deluxe with different pups
Stunning piece! And I agree with you, sandblasted body look so cool. That's the main reason why I'll snatch a slick guitar sooner or later.
Very cool Stratocaster!
that thing is amazing!
🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟..I have the 2020 Sweetwater exclusive black one with yosemite pickups..mine has the big 70s headstock
I saw Strat and immediately clicked
Edit: the finish looks like Van Gogh's swan song. C'est perfection.
Wow! As a fan of 'functional glass art' ;) I've heard of sandblasting for years [on glass], but never seen it on a guitar before. This is awesome.
Stunning Guitar Austin, that is a keeper, the neck looks superb, and the fret finish looks top class
When U take those strings off to dive in,,,are you re using them or putting on new strings??
Beautiful sparkling sound! Are those noiseless pickups or regular SC?
Masking tape........you should use it on the fingerboard before polishing the frets.
The guitar that Fender made for Jim Root using this technique was awesome.
I own a similar year in red tele and love it
Up to Indianapolis from Alabama
Swamp Ash sandblasted is awesome! Great sound Trogly!
It has great tones🏁It was a limited run from Georges Music in 2004🖖🤓🏈
The technique is also known as cerusing, I believe it’s how a lot of novo guitars are finished also
I have an 04 50th standard I love it so much it’s kinda funny that most of my guitar rack is Mostly fenders now and I have yet to own my dream Gibson
Kinda reminds me of my Saint Joseph # 32 C harmonica, love it!!
Very cool. 👍
Agreed, when you find a great guitar, you keep it
this guitar reminds me of Jackson Crackle Finish that looks awesome too, like the One that Robert Baker had
