      God talks about "His children praying to 'the queen of heaven' That's exactly who Roman Catholics are describing as Mary, without saying that exact term. Mary is not special, she is blessed. Jesus was NOT a created being, Mary is!! God is extremely specific about not praying to anyone dead, whether in Heaven or hell, it's blasphemy. How do you know where they are??? You dont!! Yes, The Bible is very clear about everything we must know and every doctrine we must follow to have a sound understanding and soundly know Christ. People need to read Scripture for themselves, and Listen to the Holy Spirit and Test the Spirits. These doctrines will send you to Hell. Plain and simple. Show your gratitude and veneration for God Himself for His choices and His own ways for doing things, it's that simple.

    Lol the blatant Catholic-Christian hate in these comments is so sad. It's like if there's a direct effort to be ignorant about Trent's positions on so many things, and throwing out accusations like "unbiblical" as seemingly a last resort. When in reality, if you listen to the Catholic position explained well and with an open heart and mind you easily realize how sound it all is. Don't strawman things people, be better than that.

      So you believe in Fatima? The biggest problem is that both Catholic heritages and Protestant heritages can easily believe in false doctrine and miracles whether that’s Fatima or “tongues” that are just senseless noises (false tongues). No one group has it 100% correct, and the closer one actually holds the Bible as infallible (as opposed to infallible men) things get clearer.
      There are no “optional” beliefs about things like Fatima or the Lady of Guadalupe It’s either a false sign or the real deal, but it’s false based on some simple historic understanding…

      I couldn't agree more! And I thought the division in politics was bad. People that supposedly are "followers of Christ", regardless which faction you identify with can be downright evil with their tongues. (James chapter 3). Here's an idea; PRAY for everyone... PRAY for each other. And believe and hope for the best for everyone (1 Cor 13). When you hear something you don't agree with, before calling out that person on social media as a "heretic" (btw, that word is a VERY serious charge so beware before throwing it around). As a Protestant myself it saddens me that soooooo much of what I'm describing comes from my side. If you're Catholic and you love Jesus and take seriously your faith in him, we may differ on interpretations, but we are still Brothers in Christ in my book!

      @@amartinez589 I would agree with you on the New Testament and RCC. I think the more honest Catholic apologists would point out that how the Roman Catholic Church today is vastly different to how the early church looked like. While doctrines did develop throughout the years to combat heresy, many Catholic dogmas seems to stretch tradition away from Scripture and that is where the main concern of Protestants are based on.
      That said, it isn't much of a strong argument against the Papacy to say the current Pope is popular with LGBTQ and atheists (official Catholic teaching claims the Papacy is infallible in what it teaches ex cathedra but the people can err in their ways and character). To be fair with Catholics, they are one of the strongest moral voices when it comes to abortion, sex, homosexuality, death penalty, etc. that even many other Christian denominations fail to voice out. In fact, it's the same street-level attacks Catholics can use against Protestants (looking at many compromised Evangelical churches and personalities).

      Another Catholic bashing statement that is completely without merit. When was the printing press invented? Prior to that time the Bible was copied by hand - not Microsoft Word. And there weren't lines of people volunteering to make copies - which I'm sure you can admit is a monumental task. The Bible was also not kept from the faithful. Every single day at mass there are readings from the old testament, the new testament and from one of the Gospels. Every single year is a full reading of the Bible. The argument that it was kept hidden and the conspiracy theory that the Church didn't want the faithful to actually be able to read the Bible is so old and worn. The seven sacraments of the church are completely biblical. The entire mass is completely biblical. I couldn't help but laugh when just an hour ago I listened to a Protestant minister when responding to a question about faith and works, said he has come to strike a balance between James and Paul. It is not possible to have faith in Christ without responding to what he commanded believers should do. Faith without works is like a body without a soul, dead.

      Well, if you believe in the Bible you're leaning on tradition too. Before the Scriptures were written down they were oral tradition. And this is not even getting to the fact that the biblical canon IS a tradition you've received from previous generations.

    • @Nikki-MMG
      @Nikki-MMG Рік тому +5

      @Chrysostomus what do you mean? The Bible isn't a collection of "traditions". Have you ever studied it? It's God inspired revelation of God and His plan for humans. It's a history of how He has made Himself known to us from the beginning of time, through the Israelites; Memorization was how they passed on the information before writing. It wasn't a preservation of traditions. It's what God wants us to know about Him. Not a book of myths or to do's/don'ts. It's a record I've received from scribes who copied meticulously in previous generations. You might want to do some research on textual criticism and early Church history.

    • @Chrysostomus_17
      @Chrysostomus_17 Рік тому +7

      @@Nikki-MMG The Bible is literally oral tradition in written form. In the ancient world people memorized narratives. Ancient Jews knew the Psalms by heart, for example. Writing was expensive and it was a back-up plan more than anything. Almost everything in the Bible started out as oral tradition before it was written down hundreds of years later in the OT, in the NT's case it was decades later for the Gospels. Even Paul's letters were a back-up just in case something happened to the messenger. That's why sometimes Paul mentions in passing bizarre things and we have no idea what he's talking about, like the "baptism of the dead." His messages to the churches and other communities was primarily oral, and the written letter a summary.
      So, this is why your theology is untenable. The Scriptures themselves are traditions from the men and women who received God's revelation.
      "It wasn't a preservation of traditions."
      Passing oral tradition from one generation to the next is literally tradition. You are talking about tradition.
      Also, I noticed how you ignored my comment about the canon.
      You did not come up with the canon in this generation.
      The canon is something you've inherited from past generations.
      It is a tradition.
      Everything about our religion is holy tradition.
      God revealed himself or his will to others and they in turn have passed it to the next generation so on and so forth until it has reached us.
      That's called tradition.
      You didn't receive the Good News from God himself.
      You received it as a TRADITION from others who came before you.

    • @Nikki-MMG
      @Nikki-MMG Рік тому +2

      @Chrysostomus gotcha! You're catholic. I was using the word traditions to mean practices and rituals, like Catholicism added to Christianity. There are tons of inconsistencies in the dogmas, writings and catechisms from what the apostles passed on. Those writings place authority on the Catholic leaders and give them authority to trump Scripture.
      This is why it's important to clarify word definitions as they don't mean the same things to everyone anymore. I didn't ignore your comment on the canon,; I referred to it when I said we have God's revelation of Himself. Scripture IS the canon. But, I was talking about the rituals and dogmas, works-based thinking and added stuff from Catholicism. You are using "tradition" differently than I was. I will make sure to use the correct wording in the future. The canon is made up of writings that were from the Jews or apostolic men. The apocryphal books aren't unanimously accepted, so those are categorized differently. I won't even address those. I've studied them; I see why they are contoversial. My degree is in Biblical Studies.
      And why would you think, I believe the 66 books we call the Bible (aka the canon) "are what I came up with in my generation"? That's a silly statement. I didn't decide on the canon for one. The canonization of early church writings is also irrelevant to the conversation. They already existed in writing
      You are using the word "tradition" differently than I was. I will be more clear in the future. We don't call eyewitness testimony "tradition" or a history book "tradition". The Bible is a collection of historical events and experiences with God. That's what I meant. I know there was a time that people didn't write, they memorized; I study textual criticism.

    First, thank you Ruslan for allowing the Lord to work through you to build the Kingdom!
    There is value in both Catholicism and Protestantism. I am a Pentecostal Protestant who started following Jesus in my late 20s and have now been dating a cradle Catholic for the past 3 years. I think we can learn a lot from each other as CHRISTIANS, but we need to speak in humility, truth, respect, and love. Not pride. Protestants are Christians. Catholics are Christians. We need to stop treating the other as if they are a cult. Catholicism is not a cult. Catholicism is not the pope. We should not be against one another, but encourage, build up, and learn. The sooner we realize neither denomination gets it 100% right 100% of the time, the sooner we can start reaching the world for Christ. A divided house will fall! We are all flawed and live in a fallen world. We all fall short of the glory of God. When we stand before the Lord we will realize just how incredibly wrong we all have always been. Yet, God is still faithful and His grace is sufficient. The Holy Spirit still moves. The Lord is the author and finisher of our faith, not the church, not the pope. We can make a lot more progress together than we can alone. Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and Protestants would greatly benefit from seeking to learn and understand rather than to correct and teach, to relate on commonalities (the true Jesus Christ and the gospel!) rather than compare the differences, to bless rather than curse. We wrestle against the enemy who comes to steal, kill, and destroy and we assist him by dividing ourselves. Let’s take the beam out of our own eye, so we can help our brother take the splinter out of his. Let us walk out what we say we believe.
    To God be the praise, honor, and glory now and fovever! Peace be with you all!

      I find it quite simple really. Anyone who loves their biological mother would honour her, maybe have a photo of her in the home, ask her for advise and wisdom. And any good mother would love their child unconditionally, be protective of their child and want the very best for them. Mary is holy. No mother could be better than her. No one could love Jesus more than Mary does and she would want all of us to love him and be united to him. I want the same for my children. I pray for my children every day asking God to give them the grace to choose Him, and to know him. Mary would do the same as a loving mother. She prays for her children.
      Many Catholic exorcists have all experienced during exorcisms, demons declaring their hatred for Mary because she is a creature, but so holy. They know Jesus is Lord and they have nothing over Jesus, but they hate that God has bestowed such a grace on Mary. They despise our human nature. They fell from heaven because they refused to serve us, who ultimately many of the angels were created for. They basically said to God “We will not serve “. It makes me more firm in my following of Christ as a Christian but it seems both Christian’s and Catholics have weaknesses in the body of the church for sure but that’s inevitable until Christ comes or we go to him and make us perfect in his image but the scripture is clear that baptism or good deed does not make us righteous more or less only Jesus by his sacrifice by his blood that makes us righteous before God. We are called to bear fruit in keeping with repentance and to confess our sins to one another but it does not have to be a pope per se but times it’s to confess to other fellow followers of Christ given they are truly finding Christ or in other times an elder in the church maybe for Catholics it’s a pope but for Christians it’s someone whose followed Christ remaining faithful and is more mature in the walk with the lord and faithful in their family

I mean it mkes sense why are u thinking so far during this day and age its better having a good role model being a saint than any other celebrity or musician especially to children to make them know tht there were good righteous pple beforethem who followed Jesus teachings. This is the best explanation of heterosexuality that I’ve heard yet. I just want to express that birth control can also be used while still being OPEN to the possibility of pregnancy. It may be seen as the next best thing to choosing to, as a form of birth control, suppress our urges and be abstinent. But how do we know that abstaining is not a block to what God intends for couples? Sex is possible all of the time while certain things have to align for conception to occur. So sex may more often times than not…be for recreational purposes and recreation is usually a choice. It may be better to say that IF we enter the “World of Sex” we should play by God’s rules and not add to it…when it comes to bringing life into the world.

      Jony,
      I would like to note that the Rosary is a remembrance of the life of Christ in a prayer format, while saying the Lord's prayer, followed by the words spoken by the Angel at the Annunciation, followed by the petition for the Mother of God to pray for us, sinners. Since we are certain that she can do that according to:
      Revelation 5:8
      8. And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS;
      I would suggest to checkout the "mysteries of the Rosary" in order to learn what do we meditate on while saying the prayers, like:
      "Our Father...followed by the "Ave Maria" or Hail Mary and then by a
      request which says at the end: "Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death".
      The Catechism on line is ideal to find the full context.
      God bless.

      The rosary is a form of prayer and specifically a meditation on the life of Christ. You go through "the mysteries of the rosary" which are events of the life of Christ in the gospels, and you meditate on them as you pray it. So maybe think of it that way if that helps.

    • @alisterrebelo9013

      Others have alluded to it, the Rosary is meant to be done by meditating on the mysteries so you can be a part of the Holy Family and Jesus. Do that sincerely and daily for 2 weeks and then come tell me it didn't make you more holy and devout. Any prayer can be made useless by mindlessly saying the words without any sincerety.

We should eat blueberries fresh and not make blueberry pie and use preservatives because it is in it’s original form and meant to be fresh only for a season. I think that God helped us out by starting us off with a lot of things, but left some things open for us to manage responsibly. He left a lot of things up to our imagination within the confines of not disrespecting the Word of God and his will. The only thing I know for certain, is that we should always be open to children if that should be the result of our action or inaction.

    The whole convoluted "Mary as an intercessional figure for us" argument is a nice summation of this whole discussion. The bible does give us a guide on how to pray. To the father, through the son. It's clear. Church history. Tradition. When they take you away from what the bible says, might not be good. "proper baptism" or whatever term keeps getting used, there seems to be one method of baptism in the bible, being submerged in water. Is the catholic method if baptism "proper" because church leadership deemed it so?
    Overall a good interview and I learned a few things I did not know. As a protestant it is very hard to accept the catholic traditions as biblically sound, but I know thay it is not for us to judge.

      Think about this. When the apotles went out and blessed whole households, did it say they were all submerged? Did they say skip the kids and babies? Also, if you think it is wrong to ask Mary to pray for you then you better never ask for prayers from anyone. Secondly, Jesus named Mary our mother while he was on the cross.

    • @johnclocke
      @johnclocke 9 місяців тому +2

      @@cjr4497 I'm not trying to be contentious or combative. I do ask people to pray for me. They are alive when I do this. I think what really seems off about Hail Mary is that it seems like a prayer, not a request for prayer. I think Catholics make the case that's not true but it definitely seems similar to a prayer to God. And, Mary is definitely dead. It feels like a stretch. I understand that comment is emotional.
      The Bible doesn't tell us what the apostles did as far as baptizing the young and children, infants. But if they did, and if tradition is so important and was faithfully followed, is it not true that infant baptism was popularized much much later in the church?
