- Today on Booze On The Rocks, we make Irish Maid cocktail. The Irish Maid is a variation of the Kentucky Maid, which Sam Ross created while he was at Milk & Honey in New York. This variation is a combination of a sour and a smash. The Cucumber gives each sip a palate cleansing making you ready for the next drink. I suggest using a higher-proof (ABV) Irish whiskey to balance the flavours. Try it out, and let me know what you think.

IRISH MAID
2 Slices of Cucumber
2 oz/60 ml Irish Whiskey
.5 oz/15 ml Elderflower Liqueur
.75 oz/22.5 ml Lemon Juice
.75 oz/22.5 ml Simple Syrup
Method
1. Cut and muddle the cucumber in the shaking tin.
2. Add the remaining ingredients to the tin.
3. Shake with ice for 10-15 seconds.
4. Fine strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
2. Garnish with a cucumber wheel.

This is a fabulous refreshing cocktail Dave! I love the APB to be elevated for this delicious cocktail so Roe and Co is perfect! Terrific Irish Whisky! I am away in Toronto and it's lovely out so this will be a perfect cocktail for tonight relaxing after a long day of doing lots of things! You lost me at cucumber.
I know it seem odd. But it really goes work. It add a little earthiness and cleans you palate for each sip.
