One day i will build a vette just like this. This was always my dads dream car. He passed away two years ago and I promised him Iʻd get it for him one day. Love you Dad
I get it, family stuff and house stuff takes priority. I've had my '77 for 13 years and I'd do a little thing here and a little thing there to it, but it had a rough life in the past and needed a lot of help that I just couldn't do because I was getting my life established. In 2020 I finally decided it was time to do the car justice and I spent several thousand dollars rebuilding just about everything. My seats are done in a custom trim to match the paint scheme, but the rest of the interior is stock replacement. I went with the Gymkhana suspension and the same sidepipes but with custom baffles. The car is so much fun to cruise now. It's kind of sentimental, because my family has had a relationship with the car since it was just a few years old, and it was by an odd chance that it was my turn to own it. So like you, my dad is also proud to see my Vette at car shows and parades and being enjoyed. You did a killer job on yours.
Thank you for doing this Steve! Amazing car, great story... you just cost me roughly $6k 😉 because now I need to bag my C3!
glad I could be of help haha
Beautiful car Steve. One of the nicest C3 s around!!
Love it. The paint is beautiful. Engine bay is so nice. Nice that it's a 72. I has the removable rear glass. 73 didn't have that. It's great that you were able to get back to it with your dad. I had a project car in progress when I ended up doing "house" things too. Still unfinished in the garage 23 years later. Maybe one day you can work on the vette with your kids.
That vette is your brother you’re Dad’s other son it’s really something else best vette I’ve ever seen will continue to follow thank you for showing it
What a beautiful car man! And I can tell what a truly great genuine guy you are off a couple videos like watching just for the good vibes keep it up
Thank you 🙂
Thanks for the video. I fell in love with build years ago when I saw it on Stance Nation.
Thank you
Thanks for showing us this Steve! I plan to bag my '74 sooner or later. I have the coil overs for ride height adjustment but I want instant gratification!
Great video man , I’ve seen your corvette at the GoodGuys show in Columbus Ohio !
“Dad bought it new in ‘73”, correct me if I’m wrong it’s a ‘72, right? Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship. Saw a video on this thing cruising around awhile back and loved it. Glad Ziptie Diaries suggested your channel!
Yea it's a 72 but he bought it in 73 from the dealer as a Demo... thanks! glad you enjoyed the video
Love that IPod dock!
Amazing job. Fantastic vette.
Really cool car, would love to have it! I was surprised your dad did a restoration when the car was only 6 years old.
yeah, he drove it daily the first few years and it didn't last... then when he damn near blew the engine up it was time for a freshening up
Tough guys hang out in industrial zones. Amazing car.
Man I've been wanting to widebody a c3 and paint it this exact yellow. I was going with lamborghini's giallo orion. Funny I just came across this video
One of the best looking c3's that I ever seen. Color should b called "sunkist" yellow
Thanks so much. And honestly that’s the best name I’ve heard so far. I just may go with that.
Love this bro! Love the pearl yellow color too! I just picked up a 72 Vette. Wondering what mirrors you used?
@@luketurner9366 they are late c3 mirrors.
Who installed your air ride suspension I would love it done on my 75 stingray
The major fabrication was done by a friend. I did all the rest.
@@WhiteWallSteve thank you for replying.
Very nice! I wish I could get my 77 finished.
Thanks buddy , beautiful car!!!
Could you please let me know which gauges you used, or a part number from Dakota Digital? Thank you!!!! You have a beautiful car

Sweet mustard because spice mustard dark
Professional job
I love it all but the wheels
Beautiful car. What brand and size bags do you use at front? I'm using 2500 but they have to be pump to 65+ psi to get it up.
We are using 2500lbs air lift dominator air bags in front.
At ride height I have about 60-65psi in front.
Depending on what kind of car you have 65psi is perfectly fine for front pressures.
Beautiful ride!!
one word "awesome job "
How’s the ride before and after? I like how you built it your self, was thinking something similar but with springs and shocks?
These things never rode good stock. After the airride it still has some rigidness but overall it rides much better. Also since I can adjust it in the fly I never worry about bottoming out. It also helped with handling it hugs the road very well even in the corners. Paired with the correct shocks it works well. The only thing that would be better for handling in coil overs but then you don’t have the adjustments at you fingertips.
How do you keep the rear camber properly set with that shackle on the lower mount? It seems to me like the bottom of the tire would be able to move in and out with that joint.
The camber is set by the adjustable strut rods. That shackle has to have movement in it or else it would bind up while moving up or down.
We set the strut rod camber at ride height and it works perfectly. We have yet to have any rear tire wearing issues after about 9000 miles.
@@WhiteWallSteve It looked like you eliminated the strut rods. I couldn't see them behind the new hardware. Nice build.
Good e’nuff yellow 😂
mustard yellow
Sunray yellow
I deff like that one.
Hello sir can you do air ride on a C1 vet for me? Please give me a call
I am sorry but taking a photo/video at the angle shot in the beginning of this video is like taking a picture/video of me, from my side view, accentuating just how big my nose is. Let your imagination run wild just for a second and picture this as a Ronald McDonald shoe.. EDIT - I had to add that I own a 70 L46 now for over 40 years and still cannot get over just how bad and great different views of the car offers. Take a pic from ground level, perpendicular, and the car is a master piece. Or just offset from the rear, looking down the side with the whole rear end in the pic...
Sweet a** ride bro!
I may be bias, but I personally think C3 Vettes
are more desirable when their 4 speeds.
You are probably right. If I were to do it again it would likely be a stick. But it is what it is now.
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime (BABVVO´22 law)
