I notice this issue of hamstring dominance in quite a few of my massage clients resulting in many other issues including low back, hip discomfort etc. Thank you for such a thorough explanation.

What does it mean when the gluts are tight and the quads are.tight about knees?

How about GHD back raises? While I know it can target hamstrings and glutes, it hits the hamstrings in a fully lengthened position, stretching it out as well at the same time. When I do them I feel my glutes primarily, but do get some hamstring feeling. I like glute bridges but my problem with them is I can’t overload them well thus not really getting a lot of change. I do find banded glute bridges help me a bunch, but without the band it feels pretty much like I’m not getting much out of it.

Great video - totally explains why my left hamstring cramps when I do glute bridges. The other issue that likely results from glutes being weak or switched off is that the pririformis kicks in and gets over-worked possible leading to piriformis syndrome - makes sense?

yeah, in this case there is almost guaranteed missing hip rotation

I've developed horrible osteoarthritis due to centration I believe. Never noticed but you're right: hamstrings interfere on extension. TFL also massively compensatory on abduction. Incredibly weak glutes. Never thought to use myofacial release before... going to try on both hams and tfl. Thank you! P.S. May I ask if that nose device is for breathing? (I have a deviated septum and am intrigued!)

Glad this was valuable for you...it's just a breathe right strip on my nose!

O.K. I have a question , why does my right hip feel like it has a bayonet stuck into it and my left hip has zero pain ?
