The little stir sticks for coffee work great as well, and you can use the black ones. As well, a small bit of air injected into the plastic tip of the worm might help the worm swim nose up.
@@WorldsOkayestFisherman Look for a "worm blower" at bait and tackle stores. A small plastic bottle with a short hypodermic needle installed in the top. Or a 5cc - 25 cc syringe from a veterinary supply or feed store like the other poster mentioned.
Great vid..! For better action try pegging the last line section right in the middle between your last tube and the tail. This will give the front part more action and a better hook up ratio to the front hook. Hope it works for you..! Cheers..!
No, not really. The weight is actually a very small amount of weight and it actually can help improve the action because it gives some added resistance to help the tail spring back to its original position.
You can purchase spare tubing similar to that which is provided with spray paint cans or WD40 in large quantities. Was curious, tried to find tubing finally was at home & picked up dollar store Qtips , read packaging lo and behold the stems are plastic so when you use up a Q tip, cut off the cotton tips and repurpose the plastic stem.
Very carefully! Actually I just ran it under hot water and all the ink just slowly worked itself out of the tube. The little bit that was left over I stuck a toothpick down the tube and worked it back and forth and it all came out.
Only the biggest! Lol. Actually, the way I see it, big bass are big because they've been smart enough to dodge the same fishing techniques that everyone throws. This one might be just different enough to fool them! Try it out and let me know! Not really sure where you can bass fish around Whidbey
You don’t even need a split ring. You can just tie a big knot, a stick, a piece of the pen you just used.. you just need something that plays an anchor point. Split ring works best ofc but it’s not a must. It can also be another hook instead of a split ring
Thought about that but there isn't quite enough rigidity to push through the plastic. Some people have had success using that technique though. Thanks for watching!
@@WorldsOkayestFisherman to insert coffee stirrer I put a toothpick inside the stirrer. Pre-made tube hole w toothpick - smaller diameter than tube so after insertion didn't need glue... tube snug and didn't slip or move.
I’m subscribing just because the Okayest name gives me a 😂. Question: If I use only one hook, why not put it at the tail instead of the head? Also, why not bury the point to reduce snags?
Glad the name made you chortle 😆. Yes you could use a single hook only and just hook it to the split ring on the tail. I was just showing the traditional way of rigging it as well as the improved way but you can change it up however you like. As far as just skin hooking the hook that would not allow the eye of the hook to line up with the front tube.
I like the looks of this in the water for sure...But, it seems like a lot of prep work when that worm is probably gonna get shredded with one hookset and fighting the fish - even small fish will ruin it.
Once you've done a few, it only takes about 2 minutes to set up each one. The benefit is you can set these up on leaders and have several available so if you do shred one you just tie on a new one. I have already caught fish on this rig and the stinger hook was the key to keeping the fish pinned and the worm survived for more fish. The best thing about this is if you are just having a skunk day, maybe this one technique is able to eek out a bite. Thanks for watching and your input!
That's exactly why my rig is improved by adding the treble hook. The original rig was simply a split ring to provide something to hold the line in the worm. I agree, why only have a split ring when you can add another hook. If you were to tie another small hook back there though it would pull right out of the worm when you were working it. The split ring provides just enough resistance that it doesn't happen.
common sense says that the tubing should be at an angle and not across the worm. This makes the line run through the tubing easily. Basic physics guys.
You are actually correct. The first fish I caught on this rig the tube in the head started coming loose. Will need to add more in the future. Thanks for watching!
Actually it's a Dicky rig not neko rig is been around for many years it's not new I've fished since 2007 in cali shown to me from a pro named ricky Shabazz on lake shasta and its actually called the Dicky rig not a neko rig !!! # fact Its a nail weight wacky rigged 5 inch senko
Thanks Norberto for the feedback! It's definitely new and different and the main benefit will be showing the fish a presentation they've never seen before to maybe eek out one more bite than your buddy. So far it has proven effective at doing that in a fishing spot that is traditionally VERY difficult near me. I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
@@WorldsOkayestFisherman maybe I’ll give it a shot. The places I go to don’t see a lot of drop shots so that’s my “go to” presentation. I always out fish my friends. Who do you think took my new profile pic lol. One question about this rig; what rod would you use to set the hook? Seems like you will need a lot to get that hook up to stay.
Very clear and concise explanation on how to do this.
Thank you! Hope you catch some! 🤙🏻🪱🎣
Q tips are better and easier to use then a pen. Great video
Thanks! Just have to make sure you get the plastic q tips right?
Your modification is very good. I got to try it out. Thk U
Exactly how I was going to modify it you deserve my subscription !
Thanks man! Appreciate the sub! I can confirm that the mods make a big difference and don't affect the action at all.
Thank you will definitly try this :) cheers from sweden

Great description, however I SUGGEST you use a light background with a dark worm.

Good information thank you!♡
Now that, looks like it would be more successful thanks for the input.
I definitely had luck with it so far and every fish has been pinned by the treble hook on the back!
Thanks for the modification! I can’t wait to do a video on it and hopefully catch fish on it. Keep it up.

For tubing use plastic shaft q-tips and cut them with dykes or toenail clippers.
Some great content. I especially like the o-ring idea. Now wouldn’t the added weight at the tail end interfere with the action?
No, not really. The weight is actually a very small amount of weight and it actually can help improve the action because it gives some added resistance to help the tail spring back to its original position.
If you would slide the worm to the opposite end of the cut end you could get several worms fixed without having to cut the bevel again.
True! Easy way to rig multiple at a time!
Looks like it would be worth trying.
I'll find out tomorrow!
Thx. 👍👍👍

I put split ring over the tail …..sometimes rig stinger hook Texas style , weedless

Everybody saying "hard to find a tub"i use the straw from one of my daughters juice pouches, there are clear and small in Diameter.
That's a great idea! I've heard of people ordering WD-40 tubes in bulk for this 😆
That legit sounded like a tip from the readers tip section in the back of a bassmaster
How do you clean up the pen tube please?
If you make multiple rigs of this how do you attach it to one pole line ????
You can attach either via a swivel or just a fluoro to braid leader knot
Clear explanation - thanks.
Q. How did you clean the ink out of the Bic pen? When I tried I failed miserably and got ink everywhere! :-)
Very carefully! Actually I just ran it under hot water and all the ink just slowly worked itself out of the tube. The little bit that was left over I stuck a toothpick down the tube and worked it back and forth and it all came out.

Cheers for that - I'll give it a go.
I used carb cleaner aerosol and put pen refill like the red one that comes with it.
