    Hey Joe Thanks for the credit and shout out! I was actually fishing "INU" rigs about 20 years ago that's how i came up with the simplified version of the Recoil Bait. I had the same problems with all the plastic bunchin up and would miss tons of fish. It kept evolving to what we created now but took almost 6 years to patent it. The real breakthrough was getting the hook rigged in reverse so that it does the 180 turn. The 180 also happens inside the fish's mouth so we call it "Positive Hooking"

      I’ve been so intrigued by the recoil bait since it first premiered. But have been super hesitant by the design for my particular fisheries (lots of vegetation and wood) but with the ‘Lawless Rig’ I feel like the proof of concept is there and I’d get an idea if I’d be worth investing in the actual lure. I don’t get sad when senkos stick in a tree 😂
      Awesome job with credits and shout out to lawless!

    I was intrigued with the inu rig when I first saw it but it seemed like a lot of prep for one worm just to get destroyed after 2-3 hookups and after seeing your simplified version I tried it and it worked well so I tried my own version of it but instead of a worm I used a long thin minnow body lure and it worked well also, it made the minnow look injured and crippled with erratic movement, thanks for putting out the vid.

  • @SJBassin
    @SJBassin 2 роки тому +6

    I saw 6 or 8 months ago someone on YT did that same rig except they used a screwlock at the bottom of the worm. I am sure all version will work to a certain extent. I am also afraid that all that worm will bunch up like a bad Texas rig and swallow up vital hook real estate. Good video as usual and good luck with that version of the rig. Lookin forward to that video.

    • @capitolbassfishing
      @capitolbassfishing  2 роки тому

      screw lock is genius... no bunching...because the line is connected to the hook, once you yank its just there. The inu has some slink to it though.

  • @ytc2994
    @ytc2994 2 роки тому +3

    I fish the inu rig with a hook at the top and bottom and its worked great. I actually think more of the hook ups have come at the bottom hook. I I think your setup is a great idea too, but I think I would still do the same and add an additional hook to the bottom.

  • @IcyBlueii
    @IcyBlueii 2 роки тому +5

    I like the idea, the only thing I worry about is if the stick bait is out flat when the fish strikes, will the hook set good if it's facing the wrong way? I know that when you go to set the hook, the stick bait will curl up and then the hook will set, but will it set deep in the fish's throat (which could hurt the fish) or set at all?

  • @stoneysdead689
    @stoneysdead689 2 роки тому +3

    You know if you added a nose weight- like a neko rig- and used an elaztech bait like a Zman bang stick- it would stand up on bottom and when you went to hop it it would fold up and spasm as it swims- plus the nose weight would help it want to straighten back out after you drop it it back to bottom. I'm gonna try that. You could do this same thing with a longer minnow style bait like a swim senko or a Frilled Shad- I think it would look like it was dying and having fits along bottom.

    I personally couldn't care less how you say it but little fyi Inu is pronounced like "E-New" I haven't used the Inu rig yet but have few worms rigged up and I totally agree with you. Not only easier to rig but Id rather have a tied on hook than free floating for hooking a fish. Its pretty cool ima have to steal it lol. That's what i think is the beauty of this new rig is its now just a new bait but new way to fish. Ive heard of Japan Inu rigs on drop shots, with jig heads, spinner blades, swimbaits and more. I never fish worms but fished like this I might start to.... if it works at my ponds.

  • @rayharrington5147
    @rayharrington5147 Рік тому +1

    At first glance, that reverse direction hook looks stupid, but watching it swing around when you pull it you realize that inside a fishes mouth, that action will impale the hook in the fishes mouth. As some others have pointed out, it may tend to hook further in a fishes mouth rather than on the lip. If you're strictly fishing catch and release that may not be appealing. I eat most of what I catch (yes bass included - I like cold water caught small mouth in Northern reservoirs) so the possibility of better hook up is appealing to me.

    In English Inu means Dog so it really should be called the Dog Rig . I think with your rig instead of using a Senko you could try a thinner longer worm like the NetBait T-Mac straight tail 6.5 in . Might have more action than the fatter Senko . Stay Safe Tight Lines .

    You're inurig is a little wrong though. The front and back of the worm should move at the same time. Since yours is a little off your inurig action isn't what u saw from the creator of the inurig. His twitched very differently and in the video he was strict about the angle of your holes through the worm. Where your wholes are etc. you got a whole almost on the tail, it should be much more to the center of the worm

  • @SteveOllice

    I think I first saw this technique from a Tik Tok video that someone shared on Facebook. Do you need a tube to go through the worm? Seems like that is needed to eliminate friction.When you go out and test this, you may want to take both versions or try having your hook in different places and configurations. If you start missing fish, that will tell you.

    I came up with something similar to this last night after watching a bunch of Inu rig videos. The whole Inu thing doesn't really make much sense to me, it's way, way too fragile for how much work that goes into making it.
    I have a bunch of o-rings laying around from a different hobby (worked in my favor because now I have tons of wacky supplies). It didn't work "great" with how I tried (I didn't punch a hole through the worm but instead went through a third o-ring), but I thought that if I get some of the purpose made wacky o-rings with the extra hook loop, it'll probably work a lot better.
    So basically what you did in the video, but instead of punching a hole through the tail of the worm, put one of those wacky o-rings with the extra hook loop down there. It should keep the plastic in one piece for a lot longer.
