    Nice tips... for some communities (waterfront especially) we offer residential routes as well. 2 or 4 week services.

    Nice tips for scheduling , not sure I could add much except that nail&hair salons are easier to do on Monday and Tuesday, Fridays are waaay to crowded but salons are the BEST place to gain loyal residential customers.
    Cute doggo😍 how does she fair waiting in the van in-between jobs?

    Something we have tried to do scheduling wise, based on living at 9000ft in a ski town. We try to schedule homes based on the direction the "Chalet Style" window wall faces. If its southern facing it doesn't really matter on the huge window walls throughout the year due to the sun. Based on size and direction, planning a spring annual clean is sometimes better when the "Wall" faces west, where as when the days are getting shorter we try to plan those cleans for the East facing homes due to the lower temps(early sun but still chilly). May be different for others but that's what works best for us. In the mountains the wind and sunlight(heat) really adjust how our day is planned. Start in the shade and end in the shade as Stevo has mentioned around the board. Usually start west and end east but totally varies based on the home and the type of windows were working on(we deal with a ton of expensive exterior coated e glass for some reason, and its sticky when its hot...) Hope this might help some thinking about the weather in the mountains. Rain and snow don't really matter for us but the sun is the biggest obstacle to deal with.

    Question about dealerships btw, I do one thats got tint on the interior.. i used to detail cars and was told NEVER WASH tinted windows. but that just might be cars.. Is it best to just dust them? or do you guys mop and squeegee them? ALSO, decals.. whats protocol on that? I duno if i should be soaping decals on the outside. not like stickers. but those mesh decals over the whole window. how do you clean that? THANKS.

    • @SteveOthewindowcleaner
      @SteveOthewindowcleaner  5 років тому +2

      You can clean tint with mop and squeegee, just no steel wool or razors. Decals you can usually clean over for the most part.

    Good Advice On The Invoicing Steve. People, Please Don't Have Your Customers Sign Invoices, Use An Invoice System. They're Cheap And You'll Organize Yourself Better. Ask For A Good Email On The Day Of The Bid/Estimate And This Way You Send The Invoice From Your Phone To Their Email Without Having To Require More Of Your Client/Customer(s) Precious Time.

    Do you tell commercial jobs when you are going to be there and send them automated 24 hour emailed reminders? I feel like that is more professional but then it leads to more communication if you have to change times or days so it's almost better to just show up according to the agreed upon frequency. Thoughts

    Also how do you go about getting banks. It seems like if you go try to get a bank and somebody else sneaks through and gets all of that same bank in a 50 mile radius at a discounted lump sum they would get it. Do you just walk in and ask for a branch manager do you phone call how do you get past the gatekeeper for banks

    Thank you Steve for all the pointers and info and your willingness to share all that you've learned over the years. I have a question on doing interior windows, how do you keep from making a mess and from water/ cleaning solution from dripping all over everything?

      Go to the dollar store and buy a few entry rugs. I always clean the interior the same. Just line the wall with cheap ass rugs from DG. like $7 each. I Usually carry 3 or 4 into the house depending on how many people we have working. I also use them to drape over electronics like tvs when they hang on a wall surrounded by glass and were cleaning 20 ft above. Obviously dont drag it thru the driveway lol or you'll scratch the TV. Always make sure to use the soap as an opportunity to clean the sills, and please dry off the wall(old paint leaves clean lines). The rugs will let the water run onto YOUR FLOOR and not theirs. Just hang in the afternoon. My OG rug still doesnt smell musty for what its worth, used on every interior we have done this year(75+homes)

    What helped me is counting time - how much does it take for me to do this house or that job , how much does it take to drive to the job as well, and put it in your notes, and then you can be more efficient and everything can be planned.

    it is hard to hear when you are talking, at the same time music plays too loud. you got to do something with sound levels because it is hard to watch
