Damn this looks like F.E.A.R which to this date is one of the best slow-mo FPS games ever.
Too fast paced for me. The Portal games is where its at for me, when it comes to experimental fpses.

@@iSeeEZEkill It already exist : try Sairento VR and activate the hidden full full full motion where when you jump and throw your hands in the aire you will do a flying cartwheel upside down shooting the ennemy down. Total madness in VR.
I got sick to my stomach trying to play MINECRAFT while standing up. 😂 I can only imagine I'd need to sit down nice and stable for this. Haha

Looks like steam of a game but disappointed with the length. F.E.A.R they should remake that game or even Timesplitters
Echoing a lot of other comments: FPS devs should include gyro aiming as a default option. When implemented correctly, it offers so much fine tuning to help overcome the rigidity and short throw distance of the joycon sticks.
You’re absolutely spot on.,It should be a standard option on any platform with a controller.
You're right: "When they are implemented correctly." Had to to abuse the quick scoping in The Outer Worlds so much.
I skimped on SeriousSam due to those flippers not implementing it.

Yup. I straight up will not buy a console fps unless it has gyro. Never going back to just dual sticks again.
No gyro aim "it's not a deal breaker but...." yeah, yeah it is a deal breaker for me at least. After getting comfortable with how good gyro aim can be, there's a 0% chance I'm ever playing a shooter with thumbsticks ever again.

@@SwitchUpYt should be possible! I didn't realize how it worked until I started using my Pro controller on Steam, where you can adjust how it works. It's just a little gyro sensor in the controller (think like a leveling tool) that sends data like a joystick. It doesn't take the devs individually programming how it works, so it's a pretty major omission from any shooter that doesn't flip the switch on for gyro aiming.
Never understood everyone's obsession with Gyro aiming
the deadzones of the joycons are fucked and gyro aiming helps smooth out the aiming process so it feels less stiff
Same here, but I honestly haven't really tried to play games with gyro-aiming much, I think it was borderlands that I tried once, thought it sucked as I was getting my aim all over the place and just stopped trying, but the poster who replied first makes a good point, the joy cons joysticks are pretty sh*tty for shooters overall
not buying this until gyro comes. I love playing this on PC and Steam Deck and Gyro is a must for me now. Great game and great Video
This game looks wonderful but I'll have to play it on PC for the time being. I'm theory I always think I'll enjoy games like this on the switch but just don't and no motion controls definitely means I won't lol.

Severed Steel looks absolutely amazing, but no gyro aiming?...ouch
There's a reason why switch shooters include gyro, as its just painful to aim on controllers without it. (or maybe that's because of nearly 3000 hours of using gyro)
The only exception for shooters without gyro? An incredible pull factor, such as the narrative and atmosphere for Bioshock offsetting the lack of gyro; which, the dynamic slow motion and gunplay of Severed Steel...doesn't feel like it's enough to offset the lack of gyro.
Reminds me of XIII, Katana Zero and Superhot, combined. Very cool.

I wanted to buy this right away just off the first glance. It looks amazing and I'm just coming off of the heels of Neon White still reeling in the joy of the game and perfecting it. I will be staying up to midnight to pick this up tonight. Hopefully gets a physical.

the controls are absolutely terrible, not sure how you played this, but it was extremely hard to even get past the tutorial dive jump.I regret buying it, the audio is epically bad the guns sound like some sort of synth his. Conceptually its what I want but the execution is poor. Maybe with a mouse and keyboard its easier. The graphics/art style was also hard to follow everything looks the same and on the oled I could barely make out the edges (yes you can choose stop at edge). Just needs a lot of work. Waste of $22 should have got bright memory.
No gyro just means play on my steam deck now.

Anyone who has seen a Switch Up review for shooters must understand that gyroscopic aiming is at the top. I am not a dev but I would think that this mechanic would not take much extra programming to incorporate. It should be standard for Switch games and ports. As for the game itself, its fast-paced, full of action, but its not one for me, at least not right now.

While it is maybe easy to incorporate, there is still some polishing to do. For every id shooter where gyro aiming is almost perfect there is a The Outer Worlds, where trying to use it actually makes the game harder.

Not sure how I feel about the art-style but the gameplay and content looks pretty solid. If I'm in the right mood I might consider it in a sale.
Some of the level designs are a bit unorthodox and sloppy, but the gameplay and gunplay is on point.
This is a hard sell for me, I absolutely love fear and this definitely tickles my ich
its nothing like fear maybe try it on a pc first.

Maybe it’s just me, but this game is borderline unplayable without gyro aiming. I can barely hit anyone even if they’re right in front of me, and having to manage aiming and shooting as well as the movement mechanics makes a really frustrating start to what looks like would be a fun game

I love how much you love gyroscopic aiming. I never use it but always makes me smile to hear about it here.
It's one of those situations where it honestly works better in handheld, and depending on how the developers configure it in their game it can either work amazingly or suck horribly. You really need to be a primarily handheld mode player to get the most out of it though. I've never even felt a good implementation of it work right in docked mode, on joycon or pro controller. It just seems to work better when the screen is attached to the controls. My preference is handheld+satisfye grip with gyro aiming
Split Joycon in docked is THE best way to play a first person game on a console for me. Mark

Besides Doom 64, I’ve not encountered a single FPS that doesn’t handle DREADFULLY on the Switch. I can’t imagine I’d have a great time playing this, but to those who can; I own the PC version and it is PHENOMENAL. Definitely pick this one up
I found the Borderlands games fun to play on the Switch! As far as I recall they run fine 🙂

Wolfenstein 2, Neon White, Call of Juarez, Zombie Army Trilogy are all excellent, and the Quake port is absolutely the best version of Quake I've ever played.
@@austinsheehan3994 Um… not playing many FPS games? I guarantee I’ve played more than yourself, and that’s not me being competitive; I LITERALLY write for an FPS magazine. I play many FPS games long before the public do, new and old!
Maybe I’m so used to keyboard and mouse that joysticks just don’t cut it for me anymore. Yet I played Doom, Doom Eternal, and many other shooters on my Xbox One no problem.
And it’s interesting that you bring up Borderlands on the Switch; that has to be one of the most uncomfortable FPS experiences I’ve had on the console!
I guess it’s different strokes for different folks, and I’m glad you can enjoy the game the way you like. But seriously, don’t be calling people out like that. It’s not a great habit.

I will buy this on switch the moment it has gyro aim. At this point I just straight up refuse to buy and console fps that doesn't support gyro aim. It's absolutely a deal breaker for me. This game looks amazing, so hopefully they add it one day.
Going from a console game with gyro back to just twin sticks makes the sticks feel like you're a caveman bashing at a tree with a rock in a fruitless attempt control the clouds above.
I just don't understand why it's not standard on all console games. If the small teams that made superhot and neon white can add it, I don't see why anyone else can't.
I can't get on with gyro aim, beat doom eternal on UV in handheld with 42 lives remaining and then proceeded to thrash the ancient god's 1 and 2 on UV . There's a reason why twinsticks still work. Gyro is just too gimmicky for me, include them if you want but I don't understand why it's the be all and end all, waving the console in front of your face is not convenient.
@@optchurch1402 Im not asking for gyro to be default. I'm asking for it to be an option. Gyro is proven to be on par with mouse aim, with no aim assist needed. Literally the only way dual sticks "work" is because the developers add massive amounts of aim assist and in many cases will actually curve your shots slightly to actually hit the targets.
Mouse and gyro aim require no aim assist whatsoever, they are incredibly fast and accurate. This isn't a Wiimote. You're not waving your hands all over the place. You're using all of you're muscles and reflexes in you're hands, arms and wrist to make fine motion adjustments to adjust your aim exactly where you want.
Go attempt to play something like Splatoon and turn gyro off and let me know if you feel like you stand a chance against people that are using it. I'm not even a big fan of the game but it's the only example I can think of where people with and without gyro can compete in the same match.
Doom eternal "works great" with dual sticks because it literally aims for you.
Again, I'm asking for a simple option to be given inca menu. I don't understand why people get so hostile about the possibility of that option being given.

@@SwitchUpYt once all my friends try them they order a pair, sure I love my neon orange and purple joy cons but for long games they give you claw hand. The binboks are like hori's version but I can't use hori's version with my flip grip
